    Bowyer managing Maddison is never going to work.

    Let’s not pretend LB has been an angel all his life. Having Lee tell you to be more professional and better behaved would be like Neville Southall telling someone to lose weight.

    Maddison wont engage and if Lee is staying (which he is) then Maddison goes.

  • There's got to be a silver lining somewhere to this evening other
    than Morris, maybe Kirk, but at the moment totaly pissed off the
    way it is shaping up

    If we had decent replacements lined up I could understand these moves.

    They must have written off the rest of the season?

    If we don’t get AT LEAST players on a par with Maddison and Williams then we’ve massively fucked this - right now I’m not at all happy

    This is getting a desperate situation today our already delpleated squad is getting thinner by the hour with all creativity now left the room
    Depleted?  We have 4 full backs, 4 center halves, 4 center forwards and 2746 center mids, how many more do you want???

    No surprise that the 2 players Bows critisised for pulling out of tackles have now gone
    Perhaps we should have just got rid of the manager & kept the players.

    At least sign Shinnie on a permanent. Got visions of Bowyer leaving Maatsen out of the squad if the loanees are all fit. "He's inexperienced and Ben and Adam can both play left-back"

    Ah well the outgoings are at least a reminder that the transfer window isn't shut yet
    Indeed, still time for Aneke to sign for Luton  ;-)
  • Just heard the fat lady is about four miles from Sparrows Lane. Oh, and she has tonsillitis.

    Everyone knows you can't win anything with only 2746 centre midfielders - you need at least 2750 to be competitive

    Liked Morris a couple of years back but he chose to go to Fleetwood for the money ahead of testing himself in the Championship with us.  That does not say he is a play of ambition.  29, had his injuries and spent his career in the north.  If he joins I wish him well but wish we could have got more out of Williams instead.

    Maddison is a bad egg.
    What is so hard to understand?! It says something when you would rather have ANYONE but him

    The doom and gloom is quite ridiculous. We’ve sent a bloke who’s never in the squad out on loan and sold a player who doesn’t influence a game to a higher division. Anyone would think our best two players have left the building.
    No no, they’re our best players now they’ve gone. Maddison now plays in League 2, but he’s definitely a Championship quality player

    Again, would be helpful to have the retrospective Williams comments on the Williams thread.

    I take it as positive the Williams and Maddison announcements. Signals the green light to me that we’ve agreed the in’s we want.

    perhaps I’m trying to look at this too positively?

    IF we only get Morris after losing them two then Bowyer has some serious explaining to do, awful window.

    IN: Schwartz, Stockley, Millar, Smith

    OUT: Levitt, Doughty, Smyth, Bogle, Williams, Maddison

    Levitt -> Smith
    Bogle -> Stockley
    Doughty -> Millar
    Smyth -> Schwartz
    Maddison -> ?
    Williams -> ?
  • So far this window we've lost 5 players on perms (Lapslie, Doughty, Bogle, Wiredu and Williams) and Maddison effectively is a 6th

    On the other side we've brought in 1 perm player in Schwartz.

    That doesn't seem a very healthy balance. Yes Millar looks a great signing, and Stockley and Smith might be useful, but they're loans, so hardly investing for the future

    Losing Williams and Maddison to get Josh Morris is painfully bad business
    Genuinely been knocked for 6 by this. I’m staggered.

    This is a masterpiece of positive thinking :D
    He is correct though
  • If Fleetwood want a replacement for Morris before letting him go, I have a suggestion.

    Gilbey.

    There’s the excuse for it not working out in 6 months time when he joins Bridlington Town on a free.
