Have to prioritise a right sided defender, either RB or CB is fine, and a striker. I’d imagine those two will max out the salary cap. Another defender and striker can be Prem loans.3

RB, CB and 2 strikers are an absolute necessity.
Get those positions signed then along with Gilbey, Washington, Famewo, Levitt, Watson and Maddison that'll be 10 signings and a pretty solid transfer window.
Anything else is a bonus.

Bowyer has never played with wingers, out of choice.

Doughty for me has really shone when playing LWB in a 5-3-2
Problem is we don't have the players to play that at the minute.
Without knowing who we're signing it could look something like this if all our players are fit:1 -
To make that work he needs a different striker, and different midfields, and probably full backs to what he has got.cafcfan1990 said:

Really wouldn't surprise me if he sold Oztumer and Lapslie, maybe even JFC, to balance that as he is going to end up with players who have no chance of playing.1 -

Well we will have a new striker at the very least. Disagree it wouldn't work with the midfield, not with Gilbey playing. Full backs maybe, although Koiki could work from LB.Cafc43v3r said:

Getting a little bit concerned now that others have said Alfie looked a bit disinterested this afternoon. And now others have said he's a bit of a square peg in a round hole!
Surely we have to keep hold of him?
Selling this boy doesn't fit with the vision Sandgaard has presented. I think he's got the tools to go to the very top.6 -
I think we are kidding ourselves - the midfield is shockingly poor - if you compare Levitt, Vennings, Oztumer etc with Bielik, Cullen, Aribo etc we will have no chance of promotion with this midfield - Gilbey looks OK but its early days - tbh I’m not very optimistic about this season.
It normally takes us 3 years to get out of this division and despite Thomas’s expectations, I think its pretty unrealistic10 -
If a big PL side came in with a very good offer for Alfie I’d let him go but we’d be mad to take what Celtic are offering and he’d be mad to go there. Saying that if he won’t sign a new deal we could lose him for nothing next summer. That is why tying down the likes of Barker to a long term deal is so important.2

Gilbey might be a Cullen type figure (both passer and someone who can break up play) but at the moment we're definitely missing a Bielik as dont think Levitt or Vennings have that physical aspect to their game - Be nice if the next Defender we get in is someone like Bielik who has that nous to play in the Midfield too, hell that could even be Famewo if Pearce gets backpaulie8290 said:

Strengthening up front will make a big difference if we get the right players. We had no one to hold up the ball or win headers today until Aneke came on and gave it a go.15

Bielik and Cullen had both had loan spells before in this division and in Cullens case reached the play offs with Bradford.
If you had to pick which was the Man Utd player and who came up through our academy today - who would you have chosen ?
Levitt is not ready or strong enough, Vennings is promising but not ready yet4 -

He has to play Doughty because he is one of his best players.
There is no point selling him because he wouldn't be able to spend the money anyway.
