That would be the creative way around the wage cap.Covered End said:
We pay £2K pw wages (as do they) and we pay a £100K loan fee. Sorted.ForeverAddickted said:
Wouldn't be bad in a way if its a loan deal that can keep his wage downnorwayaddick said:
Schwartz is frozen out at FC Midtjylland. Left out of the squad from their first game of the season late August. Contracted for two more years and 4k a week. Thats pretty much top dollar in Danish football.flyingkiwiDK said:
I think he simply wants to have a shot at playing in England and this is possibly his last chance given his agebarstool said:oThe Ronnie Schwartz potential transfer surprises me, he joins FC Midtiylland in the Danish Superliga in January 2020 on a 2.5 year contract, plays 15 games and now seems to be moving again! Can't get my head around that situation plus add the 15 games likely in a short space of time because of COVID. The lure of the EFL !!
Some Danish sources (Nordicbet and FC Midtjylland fans forum) suggests a loan move to Charlton. I know others have reported a deal is done, but not what kind of deal.
Even better, they pay all his wages and we pay a £200K loan fee.
Get on the blower quick. Tell Thomas.
We're not loaning him, he's on secondment as a goal-scoring consultant. FC Midtjylland to invoice us monthly for his time.

Maddison has posted on his insta that he’s got a “big day ahead tomorrow 🤞”
could mean he’s signing for someone, could mean he’s excited for the fifa 21 demo, who knows..36 -
Southall will probably put another invoice in for him too.Exiled_Addick said:Gravesend_Addick said:

Only at Charlton could we get a rich happy owner and encounter a fucking wage cap52

-
How long will this wage cap hold? Seems mad to have the same cap regardless of turnover etc7
-
Are the PFA still mounting a legal challenge against it or not I wondermoutuakilla said:How long will this wage cap hold? Seems mad to have the same cap regardless of turnover etc5 -
Probably until Wednesday get relegatedmoutuakilla said:How long will this wage cap hold? Seems mad to have the same cap regardless of turnover etc38 -
I can't help thinking Bowyer is playing the "we can't spend due to the cap rules" to drive down the expectations of some of the players and their agents23
-
What is confusing is if Bowyer is saying all the payments have to fit into the £2k per week cap, what exactly did our transfer embargo cover? We couldn't pay more than £1.3k in wages a week, but did that include all the extra costs, or was that just the wages?1
-
I wonder if agents will soon become redundant in the lower leagues? All they are doing is taking their clients much needed wages. Players should use the PFA instead.28
-
Can we pay them in bitches and Range Rovers?23

Bowyer: Before this game we would've been offered this and that player. Now I'll speak with Steve Gallen and we'll have been offered 10 more players. Let's not rush into anything...we've got to make the right decisions.
Sorry Lee, but some fans think you're a liar and just want you to sign someone/anyone.
They aren't interested if you're trying to make the right decisions.
Rush, panic, don't think and plan just sign someone.

Even if they do, it won't change much at least not before January.MattF said:

A majority of clubs in League One voted for it remember. It'll only get changed if it's proven to be illegal.

I agree. I think that wage/agent demands went up when TS arrived.killerandflash said:I can't help thinking Bowyer is playing the "we can't spend due to the cap rules" to drive down the expectations of some of the players and their agents
Pre-takeover we apparently had signings 'lined up'. If you believe what LB has said tonight, then that was either total bullshit or they lined them up completely unaware of the existence of a wage cap. I can't believe those scenarios.

Belive they sought an injunction (sorry if that's a trigger word for anyone) at the time to stop the clubs from voting on it. Like you say even if it goes anywhere it won't be in this transfer windowOggy Red said:

Waiting for the EPL wage cap to be announced ! I agree clubs need to be sustainable but how can Championship clubs operate on $18 mil and get a promotion to the EPL and compete by then going out and put themselves in unsustainable debt1

Bowyer said tonight that they are now being offered new players all the time.Paddy Powell said:

Evidently some better players without a club are getting a bit anxious as the end of the window approaches.
Bowyer said the wage cap is the challenge - I guess it's about trying to get the best players for the least money, and get it all to fit under the wage cap.

The perfect scenario. The market is moving in our favour and Gallen/Bowyer are working through a new list of better quality players.Oggy Red said:

That'll do for me.

Surely we should just sign who we want to get out of this league, go over the cap and take the fine on the chin?2
-
Yeah all sounds very positive, good stuff, at least it sounds like the days of “we couldn’t get it over the line” are gone.Oggy Red said:

Bows and Co have been very good at waiting to pick up the best. Yes it comes with risks, risks we will never know anyway.Paddy Powell said:

That'll do for me.If I had a criticism of where we are is that our scouting is so limited. With the EEC on its way out there is the whole African and Asian markets to look at.
That said, I don’t care who they sign as I know it will be the best we could get.2
