I am so upset right now.It was like everything conspired against us this year:
Injuries just at the wrong times
Drop in form just at the wrong times
Last minute goals
Goals conceded going in off people’s arses or deflecting in after good saves
ESI (version 1)
ESI (version 2)
The whole ownership shitshow.Transfer ban
Gallagher going to SwanseaLyle TaylorBarnsley miracle
Luton miracleEFL being spineless re: Sheff Wed.
I know Sheffield Wednesday could end up saving us, but it would be a hollow success. And I really doubt it’ll happen anyway.
Just so, so upset. Good riddance to this fucking season.23 -
Absolutely agree with my fellow centre-back named lifer here.FishCostaFortune said:
Exactly mate, that's my point, name me one of those other 45 games we consistently played a team off the pitch? Forest home first half, Reading away last 20 minutes, Derby first half. I can't think of many.JoshAddick said:
Not just tonight though is it. Easy to say we played against Leeds but there were 45 other games this season.FishCostaFortune said:
Nothing to do with fight. Leeds are very very good, and we are very very very poor. Name a side we outplayed this season, barely one, we have got most of our results through fight and nothing else.JoshAddick said:Look how much of a fight the other relegation teams put up compared to us. Disgusting.
Otherwise every result has been backs against the wall, grit and determination. Considering the gulf in class of player, and resources I'm suprised we've not been on the end of more hidings.
We are a poor team, especially compared to the rest of the championship, but I wouldn't fault most of the players efforts.
It was always going to come unstuck. ESI mess compounded it and failure to add any quality in January.
There were people on here defending that January transfer window too looool1 -
Looks like it was, had that stayed 1-0 then we'd be safese9addick said:
Would have felt absolutely amazing to me. Either way I really think it was that Birmingham goal that did it a few days ago.Rossman92 said:Would have felt horrible if we were saved from Relegation on a technicality. Wigan don't deserve to be down, I think we probably do. Unless Varney and Barclay come in and the EFL pull their fingers out of their ass, we could very well go right down to League 2.
This team wasn't Championship quality, but we know who is to blame for that. That said, if we didn't concede just a couple of those late goals, we are safe. Football is a cruel game. Nightmare season0 -
Lowest budget in the division. Lost important players at key times in the season. Completely absent owners. We never really stood a chance.5
-
No bottle, no fight, no owners, no ground, no players (well very few) under contract,we are fucked.
Big thanks to all the scumbags that have shafted us over the past few years.

I just hope it allows Bowyer to tell some truths. He has managed the off field shit brilliantly in my opinion. Hopefully he comes out and tells us exactly what he had to deal with.8

Don’t wanna ever hear a word from the c*** ever againMattF said:Waiting with baited breath for Taylor's commiseration message, not expecting one for the classless cnut though9 -
That's a horrific statSouthbank said:Taylor going was the final straw that killed us. One more goal iin 7 out of the last 9 games and we would have stayed up.0 -
If the EFL were fit for purpose you would have a good point.ken_shabby said:Don't see any need to attack the players tonight. Leeds turned up to win, as they have every right to do, and their squad is light years from ours. Birmingham away sank us.
Just out of interest, does no one expect the Massives to be punished at all? A big deduction, and down they go but everyone seems to assume that's it. Did I miss an announcement?
As they are a gutless corrupt bunch of pricks it won't happen.1 -
Boycott the club until it is sold off to good buyers and all the scammers and thieves are gone.
Bowyer will go and we will end up with a points deduction in League 1.
Gutted for our great fans who deserve better than the filth who have ruined our proud club.
We will now need to fight to get our club back.7 -

We're a league 1 team trying to compete in the Championship with a squad value of about £5m, 14 injuries in the winter, a loan player taken away from us by "precious " Chelsea and a striker who walked out when we needed him the most, on top of that the owner(s) that did not give a monkey's about the club on or off the pitch and the usual decisions not going our way when we needed them to.
I for one will not blame the players, the manager or his staff, the boys tried but just weren't able to push is over the line.
I'm gutted for sure but will always be a Charlton fan. Where we go from here I dont know but thank you to the boys and LB et all for trying.33 -
God I hope not 😡Indianaaddick said:One bright spot McGeady will see his old friends up in Sunderland next season if and a big if he is still with us.0 -
Can't blame the lads or Bowyer, they've had the kitchen sink thrown at them this season.
We were great until all the injuries decimated us, then Gallagher walked away and Southall turned up.
Hate football now, everything about it

Seeing how this season has gone I wouldn't mind betting Sheff W getting 9pts deduction this season and 12pts next season thus relegaing them now and then Wigan winning their appeal and keeping them up.3

You're absolutely right and despite the fact we are all hurting tonight its important to keep things in perspective.AddickUpNorth said:Football’s just a game and all that and in the grand scheme of things it really isn’t that important but I really could have a little cry tonight.
What a terribly awful season this has been in all departments.
We are all here tonight to witness this sod of an evening. But sadly some of us aren't. Just worth bearing that in mind.
And this great old club will still be there tomorrow. A bit battered perhaps but still fighting. And there are enough good supporters to make sure it stay that way.
Anyway, every cloud has a silver lining. I'm looking forward to the play-off final against Sunderland next May!

Sheff Wed 12 point deduction incoming surely if not I'm off to Preston to protest.0 -
Louis Mendez: Asked Bowyer if today's relegation changes his situation with the club and he says now is not the time to talk about it. "More things of late have happened recently that have made me even more so not happy with what's happening here"0
-
Leeds were very good tonight and look like they will push for a European place next season. To lay into the Charlton players when they were up against such quality seems harsh to me.
Hope Bowyer stays, but can totally understand him going.

Once again I'd like to thank the squad and management for their efforts this season.
There till the end3 -
Might just be my defence mechanisms kicking in but I'm surprised how few fucks I actually give right now. Guess that feeling has been building as this shitshow of a season has unravelled. Sick of it all. We are a basket case and thoroughly deserve to go down. Way more important things in life to worry about at the moment. Just another kick in the nadgers. Roland, Southall, Nimer, Bonne, Taylor, Hemed, Bernie Ecclestone, you can all go screw yourselves. Actually Macca, you're alright mate at least you gave a fuck. Season ticket anybody? yeah right.5

More Bowyer quotes:
"Its too early to say who's staying and who is going. To try and work miracles again like we did last summer, I don't know if it's going to be possible. That's if we're allowed to."@BBCLondonSport #cafc
Bow is distraught and he's angry. "This job has been impossible at times, but even with all that we had the chance of staying in the division."0 -
Be assured no action will be taken. Any and all 12 point deductions will be applied next season. Itm, results stand. Addicks are well and truly down. Time to get back with League One 'action'.ken_shabby said:Don't see any need to attack the players tonight. It's been a terrible season, both on and off the pitch. Everything that could have possibly gone wrong has gone wrong, after a bright start.
The poison that is ESI has come along and ripped the heart out of the club. They're responsible for the mess we're in, and Roland too, for selling to them.
We need to rid ourselves of these people as soon as possible.

Yeh. I'm off to support Exeter. They lost out by 4-0 too, but at least I can get to see them occasionally.Sillybilly said:Might just be my defence mechanisms kicking in but I'm surprised how few fucks I actually give right now.
