Whats the view on McMafia? I've got them all lined up on my planner.0

Anyone started Altered Carbon? Trailers looked amazing but it’s had some average reviews0

It seems a bit like Marmite, I got bored with it and stopped watching.Riviera said:Whats the view on McMafia? I've got them all lined up on my planner.

Agree. And if you were a fan of The Night Manager, consider that this doesn't have the benefit of a Le Carre storyline. Some things stretch credulity.MrOneLung said:
Episode 1 good.Riviera said:Whats the view on McMafia? I've got them all lined up on my planner.
2 ok
3,4,bit slow and plodding
5 ok
6,7 Good
But a big budget is lavishly spent, with noted Czech and Russian actors in key roles.

Has anyone watched Gotham, and if so would you recommend it?
I was thinking about starting it but just realised there are 22 episodes per season (!) which has put me off a bit!1 -
For those that like docu/drama Wormwood is well worth a watch. It's a conspiracy documentary around the suicide of a scientist and how it impacted on his son over the following 50 years. Quality cast but they are a side note and didn't need to be cast. The interviews with the son are a lesson for anyone who has failed to 'move on'.0

Mr F is slowly working his way through the seasons & enjoying them despite the gore.Rufus is a dogs name said:Has anyone watched Gotham, and if so would you recommend it?

Thought Kiri was good but found the ending a little disappointing1

Another vote here for The End of the F***ing World - watched the first five episodes and hoping to finish it off tonight. Very funny.3

Quite like it, I happily binged the first couple of seasons and goes at a high pace, there isn't an episode where nothing happens that's for sure.Rufus is a dogs name said:Has anyone watched Gotham, and if so would you recommend it?

It took me a bit of getting used to as I found it a bit more hammed up than the current string of "gritty" superhero, particularly Batman, films. More old school Batman style, no WHAM and KAPOW but a little cheesier than the current theme1 -
have watched 2 and fell asleep during the 3rd but that was due to having stayed up for the superbowl the night beforeValley11 said:Anyone started Altered Carbon? Trailers looked amazing but it’s had some average reviews
I'm still a little lost as there's a lot going on but think it's going to be good2 -
Recovering from a bit of surgery so have a couple of days to slob around watching telly. Just binge watched all 8 episodes one after the other. They are quite short and it almost felt like watching a movie. A bit odd but I thoroughly enjoyed it.se9addick said:Another vote here for The End of the F***ing World - watched the first five episodes and hoping to finish it off tonight. Very funny.

All a bit meh to me.0 -
Watched all 10 episodes of Sky'sRiviera. God knows why I didn't bail out way before the end but what a load of old tosh.1

There’s a full length feature film on Netflix.suzisausage said:on bbc3/iplayer - Young Offenders - set in Cork. put it on last night as a punt. hilarious.

Yes I stuck with it but I felt I was watching it for the sake of it, poor acting, poor plot and some scenes that were simply too far fetched.MrOneLung said:Did anyone see Next Of Kin through ?

Starting Altered Carbon1
-
Just finished Gomorra season 3. My word, I'd love to say more but obviously don't want to spoil anything. What a show.3

Nine episodes in, really enjoyed it. I think it has successfully captured the cyberpunk look in places but looked cheap at times, surprising considering the money Netflix have put in to it. I have enjoyed the story and concepts but it is very poorly cast, Joel Kinnaman is a charisma sink and the two other actors playing the lead character are far superior. I am going to go buy the book off the back of this series.Valley11 said:Anyone started Altered Carbon? Trailers looked amazing but it’s had some average reviews

I've just binged the first two series of 'Into the Badlands'. It's a flawed show but it's quite fun. Whoever decided to sign up Nick Frost as a Kung Fu master deserves kudos for the most left field casting of the year.0
-
Anyone on here seen Love Sick? Only on Netflix, I think, but gets good reviews. They filmed some of it in our Glasgow flat but I've not managed to watch it.0
-
I'm now 4 episodes into altered carbon. I'm still a little confused about what the hell is going on but I'm really enjoying it. his backpack is amazing0

Abysmal wasn’t it. I’d have rather watched 10 hours of the view of the Riviera than see her face and hear her saying ‘clios’ again. Didn’t like a single character in it. No idea why we stuck with it.Bedsaddick said:Watched all 10 episodes of Sky'sRiviera. God knows why I didn't bail out way before the end but what a load of old tosh.

Have stuck Colateral on the old SkyQ planner. Heard the trailer on the radio tonight and sounds promising. Also the new ITV drama starring the excellent Adrian Lester starts on Monday too, series linked.0

Beds you are our Mark Kermode, you have to stick with things and watch them all even if they are crap!suzisausage said:
