I may have been the person you saw at the shop entrance on Saturday (albeit that I am not short and fat) and all I said to you was "don't buy one of theirs, buy one ofn ours" highlighting the supporters shirt offering. At no point did I step in your way or stop you entering the store, I was polite and had used the same approach all afternoon without any form of confrontation, indeed most people were very pleasant. You on the other hand were very aggressive and abusive towards me telling me to "Fuck off" among other comments that neither I or others with me were able to understand. If as you suggest the police were to have become involved it would have been you who they would have spoken to about your abusive language and aggressive attitude. We all have a right to protest and picket etc as long as it is done within the law which all of us were. If you were not the person I refer to all well and good but as usual there are two sides to every story. I have been a supporter for just over 50 years and saddens me that because of this regime lots of what should be positive help and assistance (so much imagination and skill and more professionalism than Ms Meire and her cohorts have shown) for the club is now being lost. I will continue to "support the team but not the regime" until Mr Duchatelet comes to his senses and admits that his "Network" idea does not work and he sells up.East_Stand_Loopy said:
I would just like to say to any protesters or CARD members.Granpa said:I have several times confirmed my support for legitimate protest, but on Saturday upon try to enter the Club Shop we were told by an individual stationed by the entrance door not to spend any money. I object very strongly to his approach, he could easily have caused the Police to become involved, which should not be your aim. As it happens we were there just to look, but as I understand Roland does not get any retail profit from the shop, only rent from the franchisee which am sure he has already pocketed. Please be aware that I believe that people like this individual ( short, fat, dressed in dark clothing ) is likely to make your cause more difficult.
Please don't try to tell me how, or what, to spend my money on. You will be given a right flea in your ear...
I have every right to be bloody angry. I have been accused of being abusive, aggressive, and the police getting involved.
I AM TOTALLY INNOCENT!
I was not there, nor did I speak to anybody.
Hardly any of you know me, but if you did you would know this is not in my nature.
I am the one who has done nothing wrong, and I'm sure if I wanted to, I could make a case for this being libel.
Saying that, I reserve MY right of free speech to tell anyone who thinks they have the right to tell me what to do, to "do one"...

This just looks like a simple case of people getting their wires crossed and talking at crossed purposes.
Granpa posted the original comment about getting the Old Bill involved. ESL then gave it the old "nobody tells me what to do" but it wasn't him at the shop as he wasn't there. Sarge got told to fuck off by someone outside the shop, but it wasn't ESL (as he wasn't there) but it may or may not have been Granpa or it could've been someone else entirely.
Anyway, there is no libel, nobody's calling the police and nobody's getting a wallop.
Confused? you will be!

So to sum up, if something that didn't even happen had happened, then East Stand Loopy reserves the right to hypothetically tell the person who would have done it to 'do one'.
Can we all move on now?8 -

EDIT: Just in case i am leaving myself open to an action in libel I am not suggesting @East_Stand_Loopy is loopy either!

People do what they want. CARD as a collection of people puts out mild, legal protest ideas.0 -
I'm not happy with what CARD has done so far .
We needed to be out of our blocks as quickly as possible to show RD and KM that we are not giving up - and needed to re-double our efforts to show that we are not going away.
This has failed - and we need alternative. more astute and agile methods this season ie......now.

I'm quite happy for the so called "elected few" to get first dibs on free tickets. They are the people organising the whole thing why shouldn't they get a match ticket ? I went to the ground on saturday to pick up a copy of the voice & did ask Airman if there were any freebies left but they had all gone so I went home. Do you think that he should have given me his ticket ?clb74 said:

And, worth noting that several people have joined the CARD organising team since it was formed, including two over the summer. Others have stepped back but remain volunteers/supporters. Fresh people (with fresh ideas) are welcomed but we look for specific skills and personal qualities that will add value to the team. One of the personal qualities is Resilience; because it is bloody hard work and the criticism (not doing enough, doing too much, doing more than RD/KM to destroy the club etc etc) can be hard to take.Airman Brown said:

Hi Davo but if CARD had managed to get hold of a few thousand tickets would they not be making it Known?Davo55 said:

2. All of the freebies donated went to fans who wanted/needed a ticket. CARD organisers who went to the game bought there own tickets.
3. I don't know how many tickets were redistributed. I guess one of the team could go through all the emails and tot it up, then try to find out how many were brought on the day that we didn't get an email about, but I don't see why they should - we've all got other things in our lives too.0 -
Are free tickets available for every match, I could do with five for the Wimbledon game next month, but I don't want to give the club any money.0

Maybe. Maybe not. Wasn't ever part of the thinking. We just tried to co-ordinate some self-help between Charlton fans and residents while giving the regime a little bit of pain (i.e. using their promotion against them and hitting the takings a bit). Not a big deal.clb74 said:

You're entitled to your opinion. CARD considers all the angles and makes it's decisions for right or wrong. If we had announced a major protest in the ground versus Northampton and it failed spectacularly, that would be worse in my opinion. We think about what blows to land and when to land them for best effect.
Nothing's failed yet. This is a long game.1 -

We will all have differences of opinions but we can't achieve anything by doing our own thing. We have to trust somebody to lead and follow IMO. Of course we should all be able to feed our views in and expect them to be listened to. I do think the CARD protests to date have been imaginative.1

I don't think it needs organising or could be effectively, but it's happening anyway. Wait for tomorrow!clb74 said:

To me, CARD seems like a small number that meet behind the curtains of the local Italian restaurant sending out messages via its 'runners'.It needs to have a bit more transparency for it to have any serious credibility with the masses.WSS said:

Clearly, the only protests that have made any impact have been the ones in Belgium.
Any others are laughed and sneered upon by KM and RD.
The only way is Belgium.6
