Time for another Google sweep Katrien Meire.0

Was she seriously voted in place by the other clubs?Weegie Addick said:We really do need to direct some of our attention towards the EFL too. It seems they have eight places on the FA Council - six are EFL board members, the other two elected by the 72 clubs. KM is one of the latter. As someone just said on Twitter, so did they look at CAFC as a role model and think, we'd like some of that?

It does leave you wondering if those running some of the clubs actually read newspapers or even watch TV. It accounts for the massive divide between fans and boards at many clubs but in this day and age it beggars belief that there were not enough 'leaders' who sat up with concern when her name was suggested.Weegie Addick said:We really do need to direct some of our attention towards the EFL too. I suspect in that all-male world they thought it would show how forward looking they are to have some young, female eye-candy for them to slobber over and to make the tea for them. In their world, after all, it is still 1960. Better not tell some of them that they have abolished the maximum wage for players ...2 -

I feel nauseous when I think what she'll be like at the first meeting. Giggling, grinning and talking corporate bollocks and footballing visions. The old men on the committee will be orgasming with delight at her every utterance.1

It's easy to see what the woman does, with a simple Google search of her, even Katrien Meire Liar into the searchbox and each and every site listed is something about how she is a victim, or her achievements etc.
We need to really spread this, perhaps try for a trending on Twitter, #KatrienMeireLiar or similar. All with links to get that petition flying, also some well worded e-mails to the right people asking to investigate as to how she has got the position with all the facts we have about the stuff she has said (and I believe she's under investigation for a rule breach already).0 -

The FSF, Orient and Spurs Trusts have already tweeted support for the petition. We are now asking for support from 13 more friendly Trusts, including our new friends at Blackburn, who could probably nominate a chicken to take Meire's place.16

Her appointment gives us much more scope to embarrass her, especially when one of the stained-trouser brigade of old men who appointed her is visiting the Valley, so there is a plus side to this.0
-
I'm not surprised her appointment to the FA Council wasn't mentioned officially by the club. Charlton fans mobilise to cause her maximum aggravation and embarrassment once they find out! Its just another lesson that she refuses to learn.PragueAddick said:The FSF, Orient and Spurs Trusts have already tweeted support for the petition. The information that she was one of the "elected" reps came directly from the FA in response to a fan's query. I have tweeted the EFL asking them to explain their selection/ election process, but, surprise, surprise, no reply.TellyTubby said:

Thank you for contacting The Football Association.
In answer to your enquiry about the appointment of Katrien Meire to the FA Council please find the process which led to her joining the council detailed below.
The English Football League has the right to nominate eight representatives on to the FA Council. It is a matter for The EFL to decide who is best placed to represent their interests.
In terms of these eight places, six people come from the EFL’s Board and it allows its 72 member clubs to elect the other two places. Katrien Meire is one of these two club-elected representatives and will accordingly serve on the FA Council for this season.
The FA has no say in these eight appointments, the EFL board and its 72 member clubs are entitled to nominate the candidates they feel are best placed to represent them.
I hope this clarifies the matter for you.
Yes, thanks the FA it clarifies things well, so you have no say about who sits on your Council. Nice one,
the biggest liability to a FL Club in England, the CEO of a regime which is leading it to destruction has just been appointed on to your Council.

So have I read that right, someone has elected Katrien to this Council???
Who in their right mind would be doing that?1 -
I guess it was a bit like the US presidential election... If there's nothing but shite candidates to vote for, a shite candidate gets elected.3

Maybe present him with the petition. Then get his head tested.markw1lson said:If I knew about this last week, I definitely would have asked Martin Glenn about this whilst on holiday with him! I'm seeing him next weekend so will definitely put it to him then

If she can interview 20 head coach candidates in a day...maybe she can give a gentle hand to 72 members clubs... the day before the famous great election that everyone talks and knows about.....3blokes said:So have I read that right, someone has elected Katrien to this Council???

Just suggesting what most are thinking and what is most likely the thing closest to the truth, because otherwise it completely doesn't make any sense at all. She will be elected because she stands out and no one cares enough to do better thorough research and think carefully about it.
If she was as bad as she is and looked like little moe from eastenders then no one would have elected her.
I personally don't think she is much of a sort. She is a stupid but potentially charming woman to the right kind of gullible man that's mostly surrounded by men in the particular line of work.
It's good because I re-worded most of the 1st sentence so it had no flag possibility.3 -

Petition is gaining momentum - Over 3000 signatures now.2
-
in a reply elsewhere the FA say that they have no control over whom the EFL decide to appoint to the Council so this petition needs to really be sent to the EFL when finished.2
