Carry on protesting/boycotting revenue sources and garnering support from as many fans and external agencies as has been the case so far. I have said before there is no quick - fix for this mess. It will take time and patience, something that seems to be anathema in present times. These groundless accusations against Miere and some of the base, vituperative comments about her undermine a genuine need to be rid of her. Do not let so-called passion cloud objectivity and rationale regarding the ultimate objective.
If the FA don't budge now might be a good time to go over their heads and approach Kick It Out to ask them what they think about someone like Katrien Meire taking a place on the Football League panel.
Unless they've massively changed their mission statement, why would Kick it Out be interested in Katrien getting appointed to this silly panel ?

But that is what is odd about your outburst. It hardly seems fair to equate @Coyotejohn1947 's measured complaints (it is he who has approached the University of Leuven about their crass award to Meire) with "base, vituperative comments" on a message board.
It is unacceptable that the FA has not even replied to CAST's complaint. After all the EFL, who were copied in, at least managed to reply acknowledging it.

At the risk of this carrying on into tedium - the complaint raised by CAST re KM's inflammatory and public comments about Charlton fans was not a 'groundless accusation'. A full letter was presented to the FA explaining the reasons why Meire was at best ill-informed and at worst bringing the game into disrepute with her comments.
As an accountable body the FA must respond to this complaint even if they find she has no case to answer. We can't simply assume that it is not worth raising legitimate complaints about Meire because those in authority will 'do nothing'. That simply strengthens her position.
Are the FA also going to ignore the petition when it goes in?
No. They must be seen to be acting responsibly and dealing with the fallout of this appointment. We don't just hold our hands up and say - oh they won't do anything.
But like Prague Addick I fail to see how any of the above has anything to do with 'base, vituperative comments' about Meire or how properly conducted questions and complaints about her behaviour and comments somehow 'undermines a genuine need to be rid of her' So I don't think I can comment further on this exchange without repeating myself.

I'm going to be unpopular for this, but here goes...
I think the point she was making was that x number of years ago there was explicit racism in the game which the football community worked hard to try and eradicate with some degree of success however now she is subject to sexist abuse (witness some of the comments on this thread, or wait until "Katrien's a slapper" is sung on Saturday) and she feels fans are getting away with it, which they are really. Surely, if you think explicit racism is unacceptable in football, you'd have to accept that directing that sort of sexism towards a lone woman is too much as well.
I despise the woman for what she's doing to the club but coming up with criticisms of her that she can easily defeat only serve to empower her just as calling her a "slapper" & insinuating that she's shagging anyone and everyone only serve to undermine our cause as it will be used by her of evidence that she's right and we're all animals.

I disagree.
I don't really get why calling her a slapper is in any way worse than calling Tony a wanker. IMO she gets away with playing the victim / you can't be horrible to a woman card. We keep moaning bout the 'glass ceiling' but we can't have it both ways.

The post you've quoted was in reply to Weegie's asking what I thought we should be doing if not pursuing the FA to investigate Miere's so-called accusations, and the 'base and vituperative' comment was not directed at CJ47 directly but toward any number of people on here in general. You talk of his 'measured complaints'. The one concerning Miere 'equating' - that word again, so conveniently ambiguous - Charlton fans with racists is anything but. It's no more than neurotic melodramatics and skewed wishful thinking, but he is by no means alone in that. Anyway, I'm done with this.If you people want to write to the FA, tell off the University of Leuven, sign your toothless petitions, then do so if it makes you feel better and my request for people not to lose sight of their objectivity and rationale is my very own bootless errand. I'm going on Saturday to support what's left of the team; I will be buying nothing save the ticket and shall join in with any anti-owner chants the fans can muster.I am neither a fan of, nor an apologist for the regime, but I am at the distinct disadvantage of not being - again, not directed at anyone specifically - a self-pitying old drama queen who's lost all sense of perspective...well,I am, but not in this instance.
Fair enough. You make your protest your way. A football 'tribe" is made up of people from all walks of life. It means that different people will feel comfortable with different forms of protest. The key to a successful campaign , IMHO is to make it as broad as possible. Different elements of the tribe adopt different tactics. So long as they have a common goal, getting them to sell up, this is more likely to be successful than a narrower approach, implied by your opinion. The broader approach keeps them guessing and under more pressure since they cannot know here the next grenade is going to go off.

I half agree. Either way, I wish we would stop detracting from all of our well founded arguments with stupid sexist chanting or comments. It serves only to undermine our case.
Actually I could make myself even more unpopular than @se9addick by saying that I could sort of see what she was driving at in her Dublin comments.
But that would be to miss the point.
When she first arrived, and throughout the first year, she enjoyed a lot of goodwill; a lot of people wanting her to succeed precisely because she was a young woman. @Weegie Addick 's interview with her in Trust News remains an excellent example of that.
But then came bad decision after bad decision, and increasing evidence that she treated the idea of fan consultation with contempt. It became more and more apparent that @Airman Brown was right. As a CEO of a business like this, she is incompetent in the literal sense of the word.
A competent person would not have made those comments in Dublin. A competent person would probably not even have been at that Dublin meeting in that week. And if that person went, in order not to let the organisers down, that person would have thought carefully in advance what she was going to say, knowing that it was likely to be videoed for public consumption, at a time when her customer base was waiting to hear important news and guidance from her.
If Katrien Meire had built on that initial fund of goodwill, and particularly had she actually talked regularly with fans who are not sycophants, and who know the club well, she would never have made those comments. Or she would have phrased them subtly differently, and it would have been fine, because she would have had a fund of goodwill to carry her through the occasional awkward moment in a foreign language.
She has squandered that fund.
This is what happens in business when you lose the trust of your customers. Nobody believes a single thing you say any more even if sometimes you have a point. Seems to me those clowns at Govia Thameslink are another example. In both cases, they have only themselves to blame, the CEO of Thameslink and the CEO of CAFC. They are very well paid, they have failed, and they should step down. As Gerald Ratner had to do.

The Dublin comments would have made sense (not that I would have agreed with them) if they actually ran this club like a restaurant/cinema. But they don't. The argument she was making was completely divorced from reality.

This is the summary that I agree with.
I find it distressing to be arguing on this site with fellow supporters (all of whom seem to want Meire out and Duchatelet to sell) and trying to justify some of the many various ways in which pressure can be brought against Meire (and by extension Duchatelet).
Meire is the public face here in England of the Duchatelet regime and is fully responsible for her words and actions. I fully contest the assertion that she can 'easily defend herself' (as suggested by one commentator) against complaints such as those raised by CAST with the FA.
She still needs to be asked for an explanation for those comments and the FA still need to make a judgement and make that public). For her simply to say that she has been called names by Charlton fans is not a valid defence for her ill-informed and frankly insulting comments (the full text of the CAST letter to the FA makes this all this crystal clear).
What do we do - simply allow Meire to say and do what she likes because it is unlikely that the authorities will do anything about it? No, we keep on challenging and keep on asking the FA and the other authorities to look into Meire's conduct and comments and question them.
There is no smoke without fire - Meire has been setting fires all over the place since 2014 and continually just walks away grinning. Eventually she is going to get found out other than by Charlton fans

These groundless accusations against Miere and some of the base, vituperative comments about her undermine a genuine need to be rid of her.
Do not let so-called passion cloud objectivity and rationale regarding the ultimate objective.
It's possibly looking that way.
If I was her I would resign from that post soon as possible then play the victim.
She has limited choices here. Playing victim is the only way she wins people over.
She stays in that position she's going to be largely embarrassed that fans managed to get her removed. Shows the fans have power and it will hurt.
Fans have controlled her employment. She will lose the plot.
Her position as charlton CEO may emotionally slam the door in her face.
It may just be untenable and she will f*ck off for good.
Don't get your hopes up too much, but...
Yay.

Bless her little cotton socks.
