All wonderful ideas and whatever you decide I'll have one.1

I like your ideas here.rikofold said:
1. I will buy one regardless. Embroidered would be my choice though.TEL said:I'm collating prices to have the kits manufactured at the moment, its going to be cheaper for us to manufacture a shirt than buy something off shelf from one of the leading suppliers. We will get some samples made prior to production. The shirts will be very reasonably priced if we go the route I'm suggesting.
Some questions for you.
1. Would you like to see a printed logo on the shirt? (Like the photo)Bear in mind we will have to go with our own design (a whole new other subject) or would you pay more and want an embroidered logo? Just bear in mind a well printed logo will look smart, but an embroidered one will of course be a whole lot more classy. Im easy either way.
2. Would you like the option of a home and an away shirt? The away shirt would allow us to do a black shirt perhaps with a white chest band (or red and white) ala the 1996 ish Charlton Germany style away kit in reverse (see photo). This of course in tribute to the spell it out in black and white boys for their hard work. I assume that black and white stripes arent what people will want. The black shirt could have a collar which I think a lot of people seem to like...ala the promotion season under CP
Im working on some rough drafts of an alternative emblem, but of course anyone is welcome to chip in with a design, I know we have lots of designers here. Getting the logo right is vitally important, but we wont be able to satisfy everyone.
But for clarity so I can progress things can you comment on items one and two. Just keep the answers simple for clarity and try to avoid debate if you can, Im just trying to get a majority feel for what you want.....thanks
2. I think one black and white shirt personally, if possible mimicking next season's home shirt or one of our popular past shirts. I really like the idea of a black and white FADS pinstripe shirt with FANS on instead, personally.
Do we need an alternative emblem? If so use the sword.
CARD logo on the sleeves would be fantastic.1 -
let's ask Uni of Greenwich if they want to sponsor it

Could we put some Charlton heroes on the shirt, Bartram, Seed, Summers, Hales, Gritt, Curbs, Powell, Rufus etc...1

There are some monstrosities in that line-up. An object lesson in how not to look good.Dazzler21 said:tons of options:

2008-09 along with 2014/15 was always the worst Home kit for me.
2014-15 was the worst kit ever and 2015/16 was the worst away kit.
Quite liked all the others3 -
The 08/09 home shirt was absolutely awful.ForeverAddickted said:2008-09 along with 2014/15 was always the worst Home kit for me.

I really liked the 3 away shirts with the green in them.
I really liked all of the kits we had in the 80's - proper old school ones.1 -
Really good idea.MuttleyCAFC said:Could we put some Charlton heroes on the shirt, Bartram, Seed, Summers, Hales, Gritt, Curbs, Powell, Rufus etc...

Oddly enough I like all the green ones too......the half white, half green is possibly one of my all time favourites along with the white "Germany" Top from 94-96.ricky_otto said:

If ever a kit could say 'relegation', it's the 08-09 one.ricky_otto said:

The 95-97 3rd kit was good, although did have something of the All England club about it.
The pinstriped adidas Fads sponsored kit is the greatest of all, in my opinion2 -

I think the most dreadful kits were both the home and away Centenary kits.....bloody awful design. Got them both of course.0

For a centenary kit, it was a pretty lame effort.TEL said:I think the most dreadful kits were both the home and away Centenary kits.....bloody awful design. Got them both of course.
Then again I though all the Joma kits were pretty shit.1 -
Although I said i thought it should be red and white my main point I guess is that it needs to be recognised, say at an away match, as a Charlton shirt. I don't think there is going be criticism of the end result from anyone (apart from a few reliable suspects) just because people have different preferences.0
-
What about just the white sword on its own? It'd be clearly representing Charlton and it wouldn't look like one of those dodgy Chinese fake football shirt badges (you know, the ones that say "Manchester Football" or something like that on it).
EDIT: On a red shirt, of course.0 -
Roland has just sent me his idea for the new logo design...

Girlfriend recently found and forked out for the 88/89 away shirt. Along with the 86 home my favourite all time kit.
She's probably a keeper...3 -

Thought Id give this a bump. Things are progressing. Nug is working on some ideas and we all know how good he is at kit design. If anyone here has any expertise in distribution or ideas about the kit that you dont want seen in public, please get in touch with Nug, AFKA or myself. Obviously we dont want to give away too much info for prying eyes at this moment in time.0

I think any kit has to be red to be honest. Would happily buy one for my kids.3

Just to let you know I dropped AFKA an email. Not had a reply yet but I seem to remember him saying he's getting hundreds a day at the moment.TEL said:Thought Id give this a bump. I like the idea of 12 on the back with 'Weird' above it but I am unique.4

Instead of player name I'll have no.1 and CUSTOMER1
-
I'd definitely buy one.
Just so you all know the sword on it's own isn't copyrighted. I had this challenge when I created thetopofthetops spread-shirt shop and I won as there's no copyright on a hand with a sword.
Think a couple of people on here bought my hoodies? Were they decent quality? My t-shirts I ordered were nice.
P.S It should definitely be C.A.R.D, not FANS otherwise the message will probably be lost.
Any idea for a name/number on the back?
