IF it did turn out to be true about Poyet....
What would your thoughts be about that ?

As Queen Vic would have said " We are not amused " !2

Considerably more respect, if you were in his shoes, you'd turn it down no question.1
-
I don't believe that is the case for one minute. Probably another rumour spread by the anti RD brigade.12
-
Hypothetical question that is only going to cause arguments on here. Let's look forward. If there is any proof thrn let's debate it then.5

I'd be a tad miffed, truth be told. Though at this stage I tend to agree with Large.0

Not too surprised, the whole network is to do stuff like this. It would not be that surprising at all, surely.. but none of us know until we har from him once he has signed a contract elsewhere, let's wait and see before we start slating people who dislike RD, as per usual.. and I do know a little bit about this but I'm not going to post a peep.1

Don't believe it for one minute. He was never signing for us. Loads of stories now being spun to deflect from the "greedy bastard" angle.7

Worrying if you ask me.
Especially when you consider Peeters remit seems to be to get as many youngsters through the system as possible.0 -

The rumour is, is that he was at a party Saturday night and told someone that if he signed then he was off to liege.
I personally think it's bullshit. I can't help but think that this is him trying to deflect some of the shit he's getting.
If anything id take a guess that when trying to get him to sign in the negotiation stages that the club said something like, 'if you wanted to test yourself at champions league level then there is the option to go on loan to standard liege'. But that's just guesswork.10 -
How many more of our players/coaches/staff are going to bump into a fan this summer and reveal secret information. All getting a bit silly now.1
-
In one of his first interviews RD spoke of talented players moving to clubs where play suits there own particular style. Just as we might get excited about some arrivals from Belgium, at times Im sure we will be furious at players we love being shipped out to SL. All part of the swings and roundabouts..0

I don't know him personally but would he be so bothered by some people thinking he's a greedy bastard enough to invent a lie?0
-
If this was true I would also have expected to see Vetokele join Leige on loan by now to replace Michy Batshuayi
pure spin for me2 -
This sounds like bollocks to me.0

I've just caught up with the other thread and seen he is playing games on Twitter again. Losing any respect I had for him. I've no doubt daddy will be in his ear. Wouldn't be surprised if TJ gets a slagging and we see some innuendo relating to "forced" moves to SL.ValleyGary said:

Not a cat in hells chance that KM or RD would have been heading down that road. His value would have increased much more rapidly by enhancing his reputation playing in England, not in a league which many view as at best, on a par with the Championship.

Poyet's gone , long live the Mousse.3

If true, this suggest that RD would rather let Poyet leave than have him sign a contract and stay at Charlton. So he has let a valuable player leave with the lottery of compensation rather than have him tied to a contract and sell in January or next summer? Doesn't seem plausible and doesn't match the plan to develop youth and sell for profit. I just don't buy it.1
-
I just don't see how RD and company would think that trying to include a clause like that in a contract is a workable idea. No decent youngster will ever agree to it (Especially good English players).
It's total nonsense in my opinion and I'll stand by that even if Poyet tries to spin it that way (Let's see what he says first..).

I'm not sure I agree with this across the board to be honest. You're talking potential Champions League experiencePaddy Powell said:I just don't see how RD and company would think that trying to include a clause like that in a contract is a workable idea. I can imagine that one of the contracts they offered him included a transfer to Liege. They must have been desperate to keep him and would have tried to use Champions League football as the draw. Either way I bet it was only offered after lots of Charlton contracts had been knocked back.1
-
Another sceptic here. I don't think Poyet was ready for the level of vitriol he got (and in fairness to the kid, at his age it would be especially unpleasant) and is trying to save a bit of face. That said, still think this whole business has daddy Poyet's sticky fingers all over it and whatever happens young Diego is going to come out financially ahead. The cost to his personal potential still remains to be seen... and even IF it was true, I think he would play at Liege, and develop and learn, so I can't say it would have been a total loss to him on a personal level... if it didn't smell like bullshit.0

I wouldn't say he's made up a lie, I'd imagine he's bent the truth, in his favoursirjohnhumphrey said:I don't know him personally but would he be so bothered by some people thinking he's a greedy bastard enough to invent a lie?

As opposed to signing for Chelsea and getting loaned out to Royal Antwerp or whoever it is that picks up all their kids and reserves? I suppose he would be on megabucks to make the move more palatable though.
If it were true, and it's a big if, them clearly it would be initially gutting but ultimately at least we might end up being better off financially than we currently are with him not signed.0 -
yea agree but he isn't going to admit to that last bitSantaClaus said:I can imagine that one of the contracts they offered him included a transfer to Liege. Move on1

Why would he feel the need to lie? Honesty think he will tell the truth when he secures his move.0

Rubbish made up story. You cant make players play where they don't want to.
Our youth product see's his self at a big club and it aint Charlton. Good luck to him, hope it all works out for him.2 -
Don't buy it Diego would you consider going Leige absolutely not ok sign here for charlton I'll still get a couple of quid when you leave.
Or
I won't go to Leige ok see you later0
