On behalf of the silent majority who I speak to at games the atmosphere has improved Greenie Junior since your groups appearance at Wolves, you seem to be taking the flak for a lot you were not involved in, the you tube clip shows our support acting in a far more provocative manner than your smoke bomb, I think you know where the line is so am not going to lecture you on stuff your not responsible for and I look forward to the continued vocal support for the team home and away starting next saturday at Brighton...0

Thought the good bits about all this is the terrific singing and vocal support we gave to the team which I am sure had an effect. The thing is without the under 25's you would not have this. With alcohol and testosterone and dare I say it, fear of millwall generally this adds to a mix of positve singing and negative abusive non-respectful chanting. In a way it is difficult to have one without the other because emotion runs very high and what was needed was some kind of leadership of the crowd to keep it focused on the game and our team and not on the millwall fans. I do think the fact that the Millwall vocal support is positioned where it is is intimidating albeit not as big as is made out. At the valley we have got it right where opposition support is at either end where the focus is on the game and the team. At sheffield wednesday last year one could argue that there was a similar set up where their home fans were positioned but I have to say that our response was far more focused on us than on slating the opposition fans. I think the frenzy on our part was due to our own fear of being beaten on the pitch as well as being accosted by aggressive fans. Psychologically these things are easily understood and I think the way forward for next time is to ignore their fans and focus on the football and the charlton team. But I may as well be peeing into a gale as to expect this. Like I say the good thing is the noise levels are good and that makes us more of a twelfth man.0

How about letting the smoke bombs in the Upper North toilets at half time, hold on a minute I'm told its like that aready :-)0

Len where did i say stood up for cafc i said we held our own big difference
how many decent fans as you call them have already in the history of this fixture had their lives made more unpleasent
what like the group of fans that had their kids with them in a pub in New X before the game before the Flare and the chair that had a millwall lot run in there offering them all out and scaring the shit out of the kids
what those sort of fans who before any of this happened had an unpleasnt experience
or the 4 fans walking home from Upton Park 2 Millwall 2 Charlton life long friends who had fuck knows how many of the thick scum chasing them through the foot tunnel and along woolwich lower road with bars brick and bottles until they got to the sanctury of the woolwich catholic club and managed to keep them out until the OB came
that was the fans that said enbough is enough of this bollox saturday so i dont agree with you infact i whole heartedly disagree0

completley agree. i didn't throw any flares or seats but when a millwall fan called me a wanker i called him a c11t. and i'll do it next season and the season after and the season after. i'm not standing silent there and taking abuse off them scum because they have a reputation and they might come down months down the line. however the next away i attend no one will call me a wanker and i won't call anyone a wanker. football fans are people and all people are different. i am one who stands up for himself. if palace is anywhere near as hostile i will be suprised but i hope we are as loud and vocal as that. if millwall come looking for trouble down the valley then it isn't charlton's fault for not taking abuse it is down to millwall being total scum and all the excuses of a flare and that sacred solitary seat won't change that. people are hyping them up to be the third reich and saying they know better blah blah blahnth london addick said:0

MILLWALL is just a fecking word it is not some thing to make shit fly out your arsehole the minute you hear it mentioned
They will do the same they do every time they come here
they will smash the bogs and food areas in the away end they will rip up some seats they will offer out any one who they think they can intimidate some poor innocent fans will get a smack not because of this but because that is what they do and always have and always will
the only difference this time is there will be more focus on those likle minded souls who have annoyed them so certain bars and clubs will be targeted which may happen way before the return fixture anyhow and maybe some of them will get more of a dig than they otherwise would have and maybe a few millwall might find out the same
Some of you didnt like what happend
well i didnt care one bit and do you know what there were a hell of a lot of people like me there that didnt give two shits after the years of them doing what i have just stated above
lets not get this out of perspective we pissed them off because we took the piss in their ground and area ,
we did not smash them up and down bermondsey and the old kent road
what happend was Charlton held their own they didnt run they didnt find them intimidating or as threatening as they have been in the past
and it annoyed them i know this because like others i know some of them but they dont think that they got done and no charlton are saying that.
they are saying the piss was took forget the flare and the seat that was just the cherry on the cake to really wind them up
dont over react they are just Millwall FC not the taliban0

Please stop, this is embarrassing now. A lot of people are making out that we'll have to put SE7 on terror alert when we face them in March.
All these kids have done is make the atmosphere at the past few away games a lot better.
On saturday a flare, a chair, and some bottles were thrown. It really wasn't much.
If you do want to find someone to blame then just point at individuals behaviour.
No one died, i doubt anyone will in March.
Not saying people weren't put in awkward positions, buts its done now.
Made a change to be at a game with an extra edge, i think a lot of people enjoyed the hostility, and it was a good day out.
 Move on.0

ramifications ????????????????? where the f++k have some of you been ? dont you remember the last home game where they said they would smash the valley and charlton to bits? or the "friendly at smallwall where they turned up at the valley at 8 pm put the windows through at the club shop and smashed a hairdressers up? as for beatings and stabbings by these c++ts dont you think thats happened before ????? where were u when they use to take the whole ground over and march round stomping on people they recognised ? where were you when they use to turn up at our games and steam in with the opposition ?? or they would turn up on peoples door steps-------------you wonder why some of us hate them ?? and we are supposed to be worried because some twat hrew a flare and a bog got smashed up FFS some of you need to get a life but better still LEARN the history.0

Have to say though. I just go to the game to meet up with mates and enjoy a game of football. We play some darts, have some banter and try to enjoy the game. Win or lose, on the booze.
Whatever happened to going to a game of football and just enjoying or enduring it fella?!

this is why i am struggling to understand it GH it has always happend nothing has changed apart from the fact no one let that happen on saturday they knew no one would run, they knew thaty the nu,bers were not in their favour as the past years
i dont get it maybe it is me i dont know but i couldnt give a shit if it is me i have never seen charlton fans stand there laughing at them driving them mad normally they dont turn up or they leave in fear hoping no one asks them who played left back for millwall today or ask their opinion on their fictional midfielder and when the answer is wrong badoom smack in the mush and a nice little head butt and head stom,p for your efforts0

As for what happened outside the stadium, what were we supposed to do? run away and cower behind the coaches? We stood up to them and let them know we wouldn't be taking any of their shit. Roll on February when we have Palarse, flares and smoke bombs at the ready! ;-)0

I (and others no doubt) have now probably got to miss a fixture because the stress of watching my back from cowardly thugs will outweigh the "enjoyment" of a game of football.
 Thanks for that.
 Stood up for CAFC?
Bollocks you have. You've just made life a whole lot more unpleasant for decent fans.
Nobody is going to touch or bother you at all come the home fixture (should you have the massive stones required to attend) and any problems from the scum that day is certainly not because Charlton set off a couple of smoke bombs...0

Red that is how i go to virtually every game it was how i went saturday
I did not Hit anyone or throw anything the difference was people that would normally leave at that point when Millwall do their Millwall bit stayed and did not give a flying feck about them and then on the way home did not let them intimidate and bully thats all
people are acting as if we smashed them up and down OKR and bermondsey that is not the case it is not what people are saying or insinuating
people whop were not there or did not see it need to understand this was not full scale violence or large numbers of running battles , there were incidents and they happen every time we play them
the difference was this time no one ran no one was bothered by them in fact most were laughing at them and that drove them more foamy mouthed and bouncy hence the term
we took the piss , nothing more nothing less
 a flare so what
 a smoke bomb so what
it was all done to irritate them to get under their skin and show them its a word you are not your fathers sons ,, some may be like some of ours our but not in the way they used to be0

Go careful with flares at Shitehurst lads... Might set fire to their wooden seats.
I'm all for the flares and smoke bombs, certainly got the atmo going. The fact that it wound up the muggy little scumbags was a plus aswell.
Warning about the other stuff though, wouldn't go smearing shit on the walls at Palace for 2 reasons. 1) it's unhygenic to touch those walls, and 2) they might fall down.
Keep doing what you're doing Red Division, but just don't let it turn embarassingly cringey like the Homesdale fanatics.0

My concern is for the ordinary family fans who want no part of your posturing yet could well be attacked by your cowardly Millwall equivalents in a misguided attempt at revenge.
I expect that will be hard to understand for some given the Millwall mentality endemic throughout much of this thread.
Valley Gary yes I was young once and took out my aggression on the sportsfield rather than intimidate and terrorise older people and families.
I saw no need to throw incendiary devices in a crowd of people but then my late father was a fire Officer. I also saw no need to smash up sports grounds and throw missiles into a crowd of people either.
If that makes me some kind of pathetic freak in your eyes so be it!
