  • That was bad enough to listen to so I feel for those who not only watched it but made the journey there........you deserve so much better.

I'm started to loose faith tbh.

All the energy and pace of 11 Sloths out there today.

Remember that our 3 most effective players last season were not replaced by anybody as good as them, let alone better. They are all 3 playing for clubs higher than us, unsurprisingly. Unless we can bring in 2 attacking midfielders and a striker who can score goals, in January, season is done.(And NJ too I reckon)
Someone better in midfield is the most glaring hole in our squad. Our midfield is so ordinary, creating so little yet not providing a rock solid defensive shield either.

And are we a wingback team, where they provide lots of width and flair, or are we a 4 at the back side, with creativity in midfield and on the wing? At the moment we are neither.

My stream wouldn’t work. I was surprised how unbothered I was.  I’ve lost interest in this team and I was never interested in Jones in the first place. We’re not even entertaining. Yes, injuries are a factor but even so.  Bah Humbug.

It seems that most on here rate TT as the best, but we all know that when injured players are fit, he will be lucky to be on the bench, more likely out of squad as before
The only Midfielder absent today though was Anderson.

Seems that Jones has admitted that Taylor has played his way into the team on merit.
Yea tbh I can’t see another midfielder that would be first on the team sheet other than TT atm

Anyone know when the post-match interviews are available to view?

Just watch last week's and the week before and the week before that......😅
  • Let's see if Jones mentions one important word in his post match press conference "creativity".

In order to fix a problem, you first have to acknowledge it.
Jones is in denial that the recruitment was once again, totally f*cked up.
  • Very boring watch. We hope to win rather than make it happen.
  • Not only did we play four DCMs but we had 3 full backs on the bench (REG is only a CH in a 3-5-2). Why? What does Dixon have to do to get game-time?

@Hartleypete - What specifically have the owners done wrong then, mate?

He needs to lose any skill and fwd play then he’ll be in with a chance
  • Not at all in favour of Jones out - but feeling that only Curbs, Powell or Bowyer can get us out of League 1.

We are the very definition of mediocre. Without playing at all well we made enough chances to have won that but our finishing was woeful.

We never seem to want to take a game by the scruff of the neck, apply pressure and get an early lead. There just isn’t a sense of urgency. Even when we went behind today it wasn’t until the last 10 minutes or so that we finally woke up.

It’s turning out to be a real damp squib of a season. Yes, we’ve been unlucky with injuries but that doesn’t really explain why we are underperforming so badly and so often.

Peterborough at home next week. They're banging them in for fun. We'll probably win 2-0 because, well, this is Charlton.

Are Jones and his team still in credit?  Have they still given us more good days than bad days?
They never gave us many good days, unless scraping draws together to stay up constitutes "good days"

Can't see what the owners have done wrong tbh
pfff you’re testing me here, not sure I can answer that in a single post but some headlines

    appoint methven, Elliot, Scott, rodwell

Appoint their own manager Holden then sack him after 5 minutes cos they left him with a squad of teenagers with no first team football behind them

    appoint Appleton as his replacement

    Appoint jones as his replacement

sanction the sale of the divisions top scorer

sanction the signings of ahadme, docherty,  berry, Campbell, godden, Potts, hylton, Watson, edun

see how you go with that

Oversee the lowest finish in the clubs proud 103 year league history in their only full season in charge is a good one

Curbs out the game too long, Powell after us actually hasn’t had a decent stint as manager and Bowyer would end up slapping this squad about and they’d all leave 😂

Getting rid of NJ, is just going round in ever decreasing circles. We have to stick with a manager at some stage. However we need midfield players with flair and the ability to pass forwards, we need most of our 9 injured players back and we need to send A. Campbell back, put Dixon on the bench, not Hylton and play TC wide to deliver balls into the box. Jones, Ramsay, Taylor, need to start every gamewhen fit!
Today was bloody awful, but we could've nicked a point in the last 10 mins....but didn't deserve to.
I'm still hopeful when everyone is back we'll click, but it's getting worrying that our 'replacements' are so bloody poor!

It’s uncanny how we always seem to be missing the players that are not available. Regardless of who they are.

Days like today just make me realise how nonsense this argument is that it will take multiple windows to get this right. The progress from last season is so negligible it might as well have not happened. It’s objectively shit.

What is the plan? Why did the team with the 4th biggest budget in the league once again make no progress in the summer transfer window?

Another season of mid table mediocrity all but guaranteed.

Their biggest mistake is believing the bullshit that Methven and company have told them.
Get rid of Methven,  Scott,  Rodwell and the rest of the gang and put proper football people in to run the club.
Because with the present lot of chancers we will never get promoted.

No. Even the good days when we were winning at the start of the season were poor. Won a couple of games with injury time goals & only once (Bolton) have we scored 2 without reply.

Even before the season started it was pointed out that the recruitment was poor & lopsided.

But we get shouted down every season but eventually get shown that we were correct.

Just once it would be nice to be wrong.
  • Was out today doing other stuff, so missed the game completely.

I had hoped for a 1-1 but had little confidence in the team to win today. When you are a defensive team with no creativity, but still ship goals, it's not a recipe for success.

Happily I am going to Huddersfield and will probably go to Walsall  :#
Let me assure you, if you had seen today's game you would certainly not be considering going to either Huddersfield or Walsall.
  • Yet another dreadful performance

Sadly, I don't believe that NJ knows what we are currently.

If he's unable to make up his mind, then the confusion is inevitably felt by his players.

Once again, injuries to key players are preventing continuity but with no mid week match since the trip to Southend, and Mannion the only addition to the" sick list", surely there was time for a strategy to be in place for Exeter.

If there was a cunning plan in place, I'd suggest that the players weren't told....

Bet Peterborough are rubbing their hands together tonight.
