Devoid of anything positive, same old, same old, really don’t think Jones is up to it but they won’t change until we are in the shit.

The set up of the team is so so wrong and so unbalanced but Jones just keeps doing the same, his selections are so boring.

    Rant over.

    Groundhog day week after week.
Sacking a manager every season will not bring success.
Sooner or later you have to stick with a manager and back him.
But I honestly don't think we will improve this season even when we get a few players back.
Weather Jones can turn it around given timi have no idea but this season is over despite what some on here might say.
    Depressing.
I agree that sacking Jones is not the answer. But I would tell him what system we will be playing & then buy certain players in January to fit into that system and tell him to get on with it.

If he doesn't like it he can walk.

    Totally agree.

But do you really think that Jones is that man?
  • I hate hoofball, and that's all I saw from Charlton today. I thought Terry Taylor was our best player, and best dead ball deliverer, so I was aghast when he was subbed on 62 mins. The only option left was hoofball, and we are not very good at it. I had to laugh when Berry and Small took a short corner and messed it up. Really poor performance and poor tactics by Jones. Alex Mitchell was shown up today, decent defender, but my, his control of a football on the ground was exposed. No one came out with any credit today, apart from TT for me.

The injuries are a problem, but even if they are all back there is no effective midfield 4 in the squad. In fact, none of the midfield are out injured, they are all just mediocre.

    We cannot Score Goals.
and we are now drifting away from the top three.
this is not a promotion chasing team.
    unfortunate but sadly a fact.
stop talking bollocks NJ and get this team winning !!!!

Jones has failed miserably at the last two clubs he managed. It looks like he's looking for the hatrick?

Bloomfield has been in charge at Wycombe since 2023... they've finished 9th (Okay that was picking up the pieces from Ainsworth), and 10th - Is that really good enough in the seven months that a Charlton Manager tends to get?

If Jones, not Scott, is the one who chose who was recruited in the summer, then I am afraid that I can't see things improving while he is in charge.
  • Was out today doing other stuff, so missed the game completely.

I had hoped for a 1-1 but had little confidence in the team to win today. When you are a defensive team with no creativity, but still ship goals, it's not a recipe for success.

Happily I am going to Huddersfield and will probably go to Walsall  :#

Remember that our 3 most effective players last season were not replaced by anybody as good as them, let alone better. They are all 3 playing for clubs higher than us, unsurprisingly. Unless we can bring in 2 attacking midfielders and a striker who can score goals, in January, season is done.(And NJ too I reckon)
  • I don’t often post on post match threads mainly because I don’t like slagging off my team when we lose.  We lose quite a bit.
My god that was a tough watch. We can’t beat an egg let alone another team. I know what league we are in and where our players come from but they look lost and devoid of basic skills.
From the keeper to the strikers they are either not good enough to improve our clubs league position of the coaching isn’t up to the job. I’m going with both
After listening to Charles pod cast this week I think he has a lot to do with the problems.

Finding it hard to believe it’s going to click but chopping and changing managers doesn’t really help either

That was terrible. We lacked focus and impetus. No width till Small came on. Too much faffing about at the back and ends with them on the ball. The Taylor/Coventry midfield doesn't work. Especially with Campbell and Doherty playing "wide". Jones needs to shake it up yet again if we are to retrieve the season.

It seems that most on here rate TT as the best, but we all know that when injured players are fit, he will be lucky to be on the bench, more likely out of squad as before

there needs to be a serious inquisition about why our players consistently only seem to up their game when we play teams that are in the top third. We have consistently struggled against the mid table teams and are sporadic at best against bottom third teams. It's seemingly been this way for at least the last 3 or 4 seasons now. It's getting to the point where it is actually predictable how we will perform based on the position the teeam we are playing is in the table - the closer to the middle the more likely we are to lose.

Dismal lightweight nonsense with a topping of pub player defending
and the manager ain’t even that good
  • Are Jones and his team still in credit?  Have they still given us more good days than bad days?

The only Midfielder absent today though was Anderson.

Seems that Jones has admitted that Taylor has played his way into the team on merit.
