Finished the lowest position in our history, and sell our three top players.
It's laughable really that anybody can still take GFP seriously.

This is absolutely disgraceful if true. Any grace period I was to afford Jones and the SMT at the start of the season will evaporate if Alfie is sold. Fucking hell.
Bit of aftertiming but I never fancied Jones, just something about him.

Is he a guy that likes all the attention and May was getting too much of it for his liking?

All the time you have a proven goalscorer on the pitch you have a good chance of scoring but subbing on 60 minute mark the last few games was ridiculous.

I feel really daft, after realising he's called Alfie rather than Ben.

Why can't we just be fucking normal for a bit.... Offload our 2 best players from last season on a free & £750k Jesus Christ!

To be fair Pete O’Rourke is about the only national journo I believe when it comes to EFL transfers. If he’s put it out there it’s because someone credible told him something.

If it’s a choice between Pete and Rich though, I tend to believe Rich first.

If this is true that's a massive decision by Jones and takes king Kong sized balls to make. I really don't know what to make of all this tbh, but we better hit the ground running otherwise the locals will be restless (once again).
Assuming it is a decision by Jones...
Decision has the whiff of Andy Scott to me.

750k plus how much of a percentage do Cheltenham get? 20%?. So really only 600k to us

Well, he said so the other day, so unless he was telling porkies it's 100% up to him.

Honestly now, this forum is full of adults....players come and go!  :D There is nothing that can be done and you might not like it but you have to get on with it.

We have to see what the club up there sleeve. It might surprise us.

Either way, I am sure NJ has a plan and for now, that's good enough for me.

Regardless of whether it's agreed or not, they are still clearly trying to sell him, which is a disgrace in itself.

People are upset that their favourite player is heading out the door and I understand that. We’ve all experience it, quite often, as Charlton fans.

I personally struggle to feel any heart break over losing any League One player.

The last player I was truly gutted about leaving was Joe Aribo because I knew he was going to be a Premier League player at some point.

    Who can 750k buy?

    75% of Ahadme apparently.
TBF Alfie is only 75% the height of Ahadme  :)

I felt like that when we sold Billy Bonds.
Chin up, I promise you will be able to deal with it as you grow up, although it still hurts a bit.

Cawley mentioned that a couple of free agents might be training with us. Anyone know who?
    Where did he mention this?

Nothing to do with Scott now …. Been told many times including last night that all ins and outs are down to Nathan Jones

Most likey Huddersfield will pay the money owed to Cheltenham as part of the deal which will push it over 1 mill mark

Jones is on record saying no one is forcing anything on him, including the sale of players.

You are undercooking this!! we didnt sell our best 3 players. 2 left because we couldn’t offer them decent contracts!!!!!!

What they say and what actually happens may not be the same thing! Do we believe a word the SMT say?

The Udders are now revolting (in more ways than one) against Cawley after his tweet about no fee agreed, they just want him to fu*k off, and say he is just towing the club line...😂

Nathan has said it himself a couple of times.

He even pre warned about unpopular decisions but need to trust him.
