  • It will go now to the wire and there's a good chance we will be in the bottom 4 IF  Cheltenham win at Wycombe and Port Vale will go level with cafc if they beat Fleetwood with 2 game in hand. We need the Chair boys to beat the racing town and the fishing town to beat the team from Burslem.

One poster on CL said it was another nail in our coffin when Moore took over at Port Vale.
That new manager bounce has brought 0 points from 9 with 3 straight defeats despite being ahead in 2 of those games while we have accumulated 3 points.

It's been a nightmare season but the 16 games that Nathan Jones had will decide our fate. At least in the last 3 games we are scrapping after the disappointing Reading away 2 nil defeat.

The wins start in March for Charlton or else a fate worse than death will occur; trips to Barrow and Grimsby🤦🏻‍♂️
  • Cheltenham are one of the in form teams
  • Cheltenham Carlisle and Fleetwood all coming up in a row. We could be safe by Easter!
    If we win.

All of them bar Carlisle have better form currently than we do.

Cheltenham have won 3 out of the last 5 for instance.

To paint the full picture they’ve beaten Cambridge, Port Vale and Blackpool drawn with Wigan whoopee do. And prior to that lost three to some top sides although beat Pompey. C’mon mate don’t give half the facts to suit your agenda 😉.

We are below all of those teams bar Port Vale. Whoopee do.

Who have we beaten recently again?

At the moment yeh and? The season is over 46 games not the 34 that we were effectively rudderless.
But how can you criticise wins against sides when 1. We can't win currently and 2. We are statistically worse than the teams they have beaten.

Remember the same stuff happened just before we played Reading.

Sorry to inform you, but apparently the first 34 games didn't count.

    Promotion is back on.

  • I don’t think we will ever get alignment in points of view on this thread.

But i don’t think we are in any position to criticise who others have been beating. That’s definitely a new one.

We’re in the here and now not the past 😏 although we’ve  drawn with all three so at least as good as especially as Blackpool away who had the best home record in the league at the time and with a caretaker manager in charge, still I don’t suppose you flew in for that one 🤔.

When we had 25 games left to play people were saying we only need 5 wins.
When we had 20 games left to play people were saying we only need 5 wins.
When we had 15 games left to play people were saying we only need 5 wins.
We now have 12 games left to play and people are saying we only need 5 wins.

We have only won one away game all season and our next 3 matches are all away, so I'm not as optimistic as some.
    This.

Suddenly we are going to go from not  winning in 16 to winning 4 from our next 12.

If we fall into the bottom 4 I fear we wont get out of it. To win games you have to score more than the opposition & currently we don't have the players or set up to score many......and we aren't suddenly going to win 1-0.
    So 1 win & 1 loss = 3 points.
    2 draws = 2 points.

Now another revelation, to win games you have to score more than the opposition.

Absolute genius, it's amazing that no one else ever realised, thanks for enlightening us.

Or up the creek without a puddle by Exeter!

This is a crazy viewpoint. Wins are wins and Cheltenham are in good form, regardless of the oppo.

I don't even think we'll get relegated I just needed to call that out when I saw it 😂

Well I thought I'd remind everyone seeing as people think its going to be a doddle to win 4 or 5 games by May, even though we have no decent wingers to put in decent crosses for the forwards to feed off , no playmakers in midfield to play in the forwards & haven't scored direct from a set piece all season.

A comment of mine was made fun of last week when I remarked that the result against we got against Bolton was unlikely to be repeated as 2 goals came from unlikely sources (Jones from 18 yards from a duffed corner routine & Small from a cross that went straight in). It was commented upon by someone saying....."now you are saying the wrong players are scoring".

No. Not wrong players scoring, just ones that aren't going to be scoring regularly. We got lucky at Bolton as we scored 2 goals that wont be repeated again this season. Funny how May has stopped scoring now that we haven't got any width or attacking nous. God knows where we'd be if CBT had been sold in the summer. Probably bottom.

But of course I'm wrong. I'm always wrong.
