100% he has been great for us. But if we really want to get out of this league, we need better players.
Valid point but now we look like we are in a position to replace them players with owners spending money. In the Championship the only player that could possibly make the step up right now would be May.
I agree to some extent but the proof is In the pudding, we should be strengthening around our best players not replacing them.CBT has 14 goal contributions in 25 league games unless we are replacing him with Ryan Giggs what's the point of the merry go round we've signed one promising player which is a great start but it's like last year we never replaced rak sakyi and now rely on everything down one wing predictable and will be in same situation every season if we don't keep our best players.

I get it from Dobbo point of view, but the club will not pay over the odds now.. We now have a number of good midfielders at the club, and a few that can grow in to the same role that Dobson plays.. He has been offered a good deal, and the club will not offer silly deals like they did in the past to get deals over the line..
Quite, they just bring in s*** unfit players on loan and waste money that way.
Think Anderson will be off out on loan , Fraser I fear his wages might scupper anything and all we'll end up doing is a deadline day loan with us still picking up most of the tab like we did with Lavelle and Kirk to Burton last Jan.

I don't think we will see Taylor this year now, I think they will look to get him right for next year, he is very highly thought of.. I wouldn't be surprised to see Anderson go out on loan, and I think it will do him good.

There are massive issues in our current midfield though so glad this is being prioritised as we have looked too powder puff for some time.
Dobson might well be off Fraser looks good in glimpses but offers nowhere near enough Watson looked good early doors but not sure what he does Anderson is not even close to being ready imo and needs a L2/NL loan The rest are injured, 2 long term.

So that tells Dobson exactly where they see him in the pecking order for the period ahead. If he can get better elsewhere, he’ll be gone and I don’t really blame him.
The smart thing to do if CBT leaves is to switch to 3-5-2.
Unfortunately we have Appleton and Scott so will instead just play 4-3-3 with May and the Campbells as wide options, we might sign another winger but let’s be honest we are unlikely to find one as good as CBT so it’s not going to improve us

I think it's time to stop thinking about this window in the context of this season and think longer term (plus some good loans).
We want the kind of window that we look back at this time next year and say "some really important building blocks for a genuine promotion push were put in place then".

Totally. No idea about the financial heft of these new boys, but on the face of it, I am sure if they saw Dobson as a big part of their plans moving forwards they would/could pay the wages.
Though as ever there’s no point in really having any firm opinions either way on this until the end of the window and we can look at the transfer activity as a whole.

Coventry is a better player than Dobson, but we would do very well to find another midfielder that is though so I don’t think Dobson has anything to worry about. If what Dubai says is true and we’ve offered him 6.5k a week, I doubt we are offering that to a player that isn’t going to start games

But he has to be a bit careful here. He's been good in our eyes because of the dross elsewhere in the squad. Are other clubs as interested? I'm not so sure. For once we actually hold the aces here I think. We've made him an offer.
