Now we’ve seemingly got him it’s all claims he’s not actually any good and hand-wringing that Dobson is off. Enjoy the moment when it comes, we’ll soon see how good he is. We’re also a team totally lacking in midfield cohesion, the idea that we wouldn’t play a double holding midfielder behind a 10 is potentially very wide of the mark. Two midfielders who can sit, screen the defence and alternate in stepping forward while the 10 handles the creative aspect is pretty basic stuff.
Also, if you want to keep Dobson, surrounding him with much better players for the next 6 months is a good way to go about it

Spoke to a friend today who genuinely worked with Conor Coventry’s dad years ago. He’s a West Ham season ticket holder, knows his football.
Asked his opinion this evening about Coventry and he said, “Proper centre mid, will be excellent for you. Surprised we’re letting him go and that he’s not moving to a Championship club. Slightly different player to Cullen but same sort of quality. A box to box cm.”
Reading are a L1 relegation struggling team for a reason. There won’t be many nuggets there.
They had 4 points deducted, add those back on and they’re only 3 behind us in 13th. If they’re keen to sell it’s definitely worth a look to see if we can get a good deal or two. Similar to how we signed BWP so cheaply.
Happy with Coventry, I can't say I've watched him enough to have a good opinion, but he's young and the last two midfielders from West Ham that have ended up here are held in high regard. This could be the move where he really finds his feet and gets settled.

This may just be the signing that frees Fraser up a bit and allows him to play in a more natural role. Hope he would be able to find a bit of the form he had last season.
Having said that wouldn't be upset if we did offload him for a fee.
Sounds promising but just for once can we wait until Conor Coventry signs, plays and can link up with other players in the team because if we can't get some partnerships working all over the field then we will be stuck as a mid table league 1 team (on a good day)
Not my style to slag the whole squad off, I leave that to 80% of CL but I also won't go overboard until players stay fit, play games and perform to a higher standard to players they replace.
The much criticised Andy Scott is a football man and he knows it's a results business and this window is important to his credibility but if the results don't improve, that's how he will be judged.

May well be, but would hope we would show an interest. Current and former players of ours know him too. Fraser at Ipswich together, Corey grew up near him and are of the same age, Leko came through WBA with him, and more importantly, Appleton at West Brom so would have previously worked with him.

Knibbs is a big unit who can play in loads of attacking positions and can score a bag load of goals over the course of a season.
Smith has had his shooting boots on recently and would take the pressure off of Alfie or could even play with him.
23 and 25 years old, good ages. Very realistic signings if Reading are desperate.
Abbey will definitely end up in the prem and out on loan or a championship side.
