Anyone else find the Chelsea and Leicester kits rather confusing as a spectator...?
It’s not the worst clash I’ve ever seen, but I do see that it’s not ideal. I just can’t see any justification for a ‘Blue’ team using a ‘different’ blue as a change strip.
I’m on record on here a few times, complaining about some kit clashes.
I think we all understand that a lot of it is driven by sales - I imagine people are more likely to buy dark ‘away’ kits than, say, yellow ones for example. And it’s been mentioned a few times on here that in Charlton’s case, the reason we keep wearing black (even when there’s no need) is a sponsorship demand. So of course, money is the driver.
But I don’t think this is a minority complaint. And as such, the FA and EFL absolutely need to have more stringent demands on kit colours. As I see it, there should be minimum requirements: 1) Shirts and socks for both teams should be easily distinguishable. Shorts too, if poss, but less important. 2) Teams should have clearly different dominant colours and shades - case in point is the Sunderland Newcastle game recently: Different colour shirts, shorts and socks, but both kits were predominantly white and both had black and red elements. Ludicrous. 3) Ref and linos should not clash with anyone (including goalkeepers, although this seems less important). I remember a game a few years ago against Nottingham Forest, I think, where Forest wore a dark grey, almost black kit and the ref was in black. I mean, come on. As an aside, why is it that refs must wear black shorts and socks? There’s no commercial element here, they could wear sodding tartan if necessary.
Apologies for the lengthy post, but I just don’t see why it’s allowed to continue. Nearly 1 in 12 men are colourblind in the uk. Nearly 200,000 people are registered partially sighted. That doesn’t include all of the people who are neither, but their eyesight isn’t great. We are all getting older and for many of us, our eyes are deteriorating. Even if you disregard all of that, and even with 20-20 vision, sometimes the kit colours are unhelpful when watching on tv.
It does irritate me. Thankfully it doesn’t happen all the time, but it happens enough for it to be a recurring gripe.
The form Palmer is in... it'll be good to see him in Kane's (Given he's rumoured to have withdrawn, given his injury at the weekend) role this International Break
This Leicester side along with Leeds need to get back in the prem to maximise the chance of a Palace relegation. The difference between this lot and Luton / Burnley / Sheff U is night and day
