I was in the pub last night with one of DH's close mates. Exchanged a text and video message with Dean on this guy's phone. He clearly felt he wasn't given long enough at the start of the 23/24 season, and said he genuinely loved his time at Charlton.
Had a long chat with him at the FSA Awards.

Certainly not a fan of the SMT
    C'mon then......spill the beans.

I saw him at the DRTP event last month. Said he loved the QBT, but couldn't quite understand why FG didn't want to go to KBP for a DCWA.
    A?

Which is interesting considering they’re the only reason he got the job in the first place.

My suspicion has been that he was never meant to last as long as he did but he was too popular/a preferred candidate wasn’t available
Wasn’t it Thomas who gave him the extended contract?

Im sure he will prefer walking around leafy Wycombe rather than getting all that sand in his boots.

What was the name of that infamous establishment in Wycombe? Reckon Deano will be popping in on matchdays and putting a few quid behind the bar?

Hardly done anything to deserve it.

  • Could see Des Buckingham going there.

Obvious appointment IMHO, plays good football and knows how to get a side promoted.

Can't see him pitching up at Wycombe.

He's an Oxford fan, so depends how much he puts his fan loyalties above his Managerial ambitions

Still wont be surprised to see him end up back at CFG

The White Horse I think, the landlord found my glasses and then posted on here to get them back to me!

Not sure it's a particularly big rivalry?

Will be close to home you'd assume.

  • Find this seriously odd, surely he could have found a job in non league or league 2 which would give him the chance to work up. Really seems like it’s a money thing more than anything

I am sure he could off, but (except for that 7 game stint in Iceland) he hasn't done much travelling (and it also good to broaden the mind).

He seemed to of got out of Al Ettifaq at the right time.

Maybe he got the job via LinkedIn (he seems pretty active on it).

As much as I thought Dean Holden as a person was a really decent bloke, his career since he left us has highlighted he shouldn’t have got anywhere near the job for us.  The history and size of our club was well beyond him and his capabilities and shows how far we’d/we have fallen

    Garner similar

The far southeast of Turkey, near the Syrian border

The new manager Mustafa Alper Avci is Turkish but was at the City academy, bringing Lovelady with him.

Is the article talking about himself or Slippy G? Cos either way it's absolute bollocks, neither of them are anywhere near being "one of England's best young managers"

I’m glad. Assistant is perfect for him just like Chris Powell.
