Nothing positive about that display... Fully expect Garner to come out with the players running on fumes again, if he does then he needs to start thinking whether we want to fight for our League status or the slim chance of facing a top side in the FA Cup.
The fact is we're four months into the season, and we have a Manager saying we're running on fumes, then you have to wonder what the hell is going on... We're not the only team to have signed free transfers this summer, but we're the only team that look to be struggling to endure 90mins, its something we've struggled with for the majority of the season
Injuries are no f**king jinx, they're surely coming about because something isn't being done correctly in between games, and are a combined issue as to why we're "running on fumes"...
I feel we need to look beyond the fact that we only sign injured players, its too easy and lazy to blame them, even if they were shit today... What we need to know now is why... Why did they look so tired for the majority of the game, and unable to pass it to each other!! - This has been happening far too often under the Belgian wanker, and now Sandgaard... Cost Cutting in areas is hurting us.

Why exactly do you feel sorry for him ? Who do you think tells these players to pass it aimlessly round the back? Despite how poor these players are, they should still be beating port vale comfortably
The idea is to work it around the back and progress up the pitch until we can get it into either a winger or Kirk dropping deep, at which point they have to either play a killer ball or take their man on. Our biggest problem was that Stockley offers absolutely nothing - he can't latch onto balls through or hold it up - so there was no ball to play. Our wingers both had off-days. Still, after Aneke came on we gained for the first time a bit of threat. Stockley is the biggest problem but he's not the only problem. I don't hold Garner responsible. How could anyone have managed this bunch better today? What could we have tried? Yeah, no Stockley at all maybe, but what manager is going to play without a centre forward?

I like Garner, I wouldn’t call for his head (unless things deteriorated massively) but I don’t really see the point in trying to rigidly impose a specific style of football in this division. Unless you have a significant financial advantage or you have a Chris Powell summer transfer window type recruitment outcome you just aren’t going to get enough players of sufficient quality to play any type of quality football and win consistently. The only thing that matters in this division is promotion, attain it using whatever type of football it takes.
An absolutely dismal and spineless performance. We hardly won a second ball all afternoon and created practically nothing. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many misplaced passes from a Charlton team.
More feeble defending from Inniss and Lavelle for their goal and you can never fancy this side to keep a clean sheet.
Given the level we’re playing at and the poor quality of the opposition, that was as bad a performance I’ve seen from Charlton for a long time. Abysmal stuff and many more performances like that will see Garner coming under pressure.
What a depressing watch that was….a Sunday league pitch and team. Looked like a dark depressing place which is where we are as a club. Nasty little bastards like Smith and Benning who in my day I would have gone right thru. No fight in this team. I give up.

Think Garner will be gone by Dec/Jan at this rate, and so will the attendances dwindle, those are the facts and reality about our club being run down in it's present state!
Apart from the u18 and u21 the rest of the club needs a restart and get back to basics, but you need to know what that means, I don't think any of these players have the nouse to succeed.

Port Vale lost heavily last week so went very defensive We should have gone for them but we were happy to fart about painfully passing it about five yards or less. Our defence is so crap, they were always going to get a goal from somewhere and we sleepwalked into it. AMB didn't have a save to make but If I was an opposing manager playing us I would go defensive as we have trouble breaking teams down.

Crap,total,crap,they got every second ball,seconds before their guy scored I burst my lungs at the screen,"dont let him shoot"fuck it what do I know ,let us three defenders follow him the width of the box and shoot when he wanted to.Final 2 minutes , a corner,straight into the keepers hands,appalling,not even sunday morning on blackheath would you see that.A bit livelier when Payne etc.came on,but he missed a sitter,probably our only decent chance of the game.I have had it,I defend this team week in and out,really pissed off with what I saw today,and Really,i Could not give a toss now.A special mention for our skipper,the worst half I have ever seen in a Charlton shirt.

I have said many times, I saw this with Stockley at Preston. He is playing by numbers and needs a break. We know he is better than this but it isn't helping him playing in a system that doesn't suit him with zero confidence. But there are not any options but to start him!
