A bit of a shambles at Bristol Rovers, but he did a decent enough job at Swindon considering what he started with last summer
I can see the attraction to TS of someone who plays a passing and possession game, as our football last season was rubbish. And I've previously stated that I want a COACH in charge of the team, someone who improves individuals, and it seems that he does this
Like most of us I am somewhat underwhelmed. However, as always I will get behind the fella and give him a fair deal. Swindon’s stats for last season are highly respectable, so the fella certainly has something about him. Disappointed at some of the posts who are (in true recent Addicks fashion), laying into the fella before he’s even crossed the threshold. We have been treated so appallingly over the last few years that I do understand the apathy that runs through our fan base……but come on guys and gals, let’s get behind whoever takes on the job and get back some enthusiasm and self belief…….let’s wish him well and make him welcome if nothing else FFS. 🤞🤞🤞
BET VICTOR HAS REMOVED NEXT CHARLTON MANAGER BET - so it’s happening- WELCOME GARNER
They will re-open it if and when it isn't confirmed. It's just that they can't offer a price on Garner but, equally, can't leave the book up without him in it.
I suggest people watch this if you’re unsure about him.
Minute 20 onwards is particularly interesting.
Yeah he sounds much like Russell Martin in that infamous interview where he talks about ‘plan b’ and people basically saying lob a big boy up top and he’s not going to do it.
Honestly we’ve not had a manager who really has had a philosophy like this. For me personally, it’s exciting to hear someone talk more than just ‘running hard’, ‘playing for the badge’ etc - and more about tactical intelligence and psychology.
Garner is still being considered. But is up against a lot more quality candidates. Doesn't mean he won't get the job, just passing on what I'm being told...

I am very intrigued to see how it works out.
Also have a feeling Fraser will thrive under him.
I had the exact same thought. Although we'll need a few additions around him.
Underwhelmed and a bit surprised but I am hoping he can prove us wrong. He has decent experience and hopefully than can translate, but obviously most of us wouldn’t have picked him from the list of associated names.

It would not be at all surprised if Nixon has got this one wrong.

And no, you're backing it up, so if he fails you look a fool now pal
Chris Powell?

Ben Garner's Partner has just looked on Twitter and said to Ben that maybe the roundabouts aren't so bad in Swindon.
There’s plenty wrong around the club at the moment - about which I have been clear on my views.
But that’s not his fault and as such he would arrive with my full support.
underwhelming just doesn't even begin to describe it. TS a malicious Palace fan intending to turn us in to Clown Town FC?
