Only just caught up with it but it's working for me:

On a more positive note, Joe Denly's nephew, Jaydn, has been playing for Kent U18s against Hants this week in a 3-day Championship match. The game didn't start too well for Jaydn as he was out for a duck in the first innings but he then returned bowling figures of 9-5-14-5 in Hants first innings, scored 82 in Kent's second innings and finished the game with 21-6-36-4 in Hants second innings. Jadyn definitely has the potential to follow in his uncle's footsteps albeit that he is a bit different in the sense that he bats left handed and bowls left arm orthodox spin.
Young Jaydn is doing it again! In Kent U18s first innings against Middlesex once again he had a low score (7) but then returned bowling figures 30-2-90-4 with the ball (out of a Hants score of 497) and has just been dismissed for 123 in the second innings.

    Not looking good for us

    Great comeback from us

    250-6 off 41.2

Saini you silly boy! Bowls two balls on the trot over waist high and in addition to conceding 13 runs off the first two legitimate balls of the over, is banned from bowling again in the game.

    294-7 off 45

331 all out. Will be a good chase but it might have been a lot worse.

He can't be far off getting into our 50 over side this season!

Come on Kent this is a fairly weak Essex side

What a pathetic showing, so much for all the optimism before the tournament of us going far in it ! Just sums up the awful season we have had thus far, something has to give
  • Options
    5 wickets in 2.4 overs - pathetic

I thought Sunday was bad, but today was even worse

I think we saw why Compton struggled to get a contract - he is, fundamentally, a red ball batsman and it is far harder to get a red ball only contract than a white ball only one.

He's in the Emerging Players Programme and will, undoubtedly, be in the Academy next year. But he is only 16 so, perhaps, a bit premature throwing him into the first team right now. An undoubted talent though and the question is whether he will get to play for Kent with his uncle.

Sadly, but not surprisingly, official confirmation that this is Stevens' last season. A fantastic servant to us and cricket

Probably the right time to say goodbye, though a massively sad day and a shame that it wasn't Stevo's decision.

It really wouldn't surprise me to see Stevens playing next season in the Kent League. He has done so for St Lawrence & HC this year and they are currently top of Div 1 so he could well be appearing in the Kent Premier Division next season. Bowling 10 overs and having a hit would be no problem for him.

    Interesting that he isn't retiring

A fantastic servant for Kent CCC who will be sorely missed.

Great player and paraphrasing what Paul Downton said how and why did he never play for England?

"Next chapter" is ambiguous because it could mean coaching. Injuries are starting to catch up with him and his influence in red ball has been diminished this season. He isn't regarded as a major player in T20 (otherwise he would have been drafted in that other comp) but I suppose another county might take a chance by offering him a one year contract.

Whether it's true or not, one thing I did hear is that he has an absolute passion for golf (so much so that he would be allowed days off training to play) and that he might even try to get himself a tour card. Ridiculously, he only has to wait another three years or so and he will qualify to compete in the Seniors Tour!
