If I could be bothered to look it up I wonder how many of the people on this thread who are so ready to completely write off our current manager were also slagging off the likes of Taylor, Grant, Doughty, etc, for wanting to move on.
It's at times like these I realise that I don't think I have very much in common with the modern day football "fan", which unfortunately includes a large chunk of our own fan base - totally spoilt and entitled by the "product" of the Premier League, Champions League, Sky Sports and everyone thinking their a fucking tactical genius because they are good on FIFA.

I'm not asking for Bowyer's head on a silver platter, hell I don't think he should be given the boot for a while, I'd give him till the end of the season and reassess then, but TS has been here all of 15 minutes and excuse me if I don't believe everything he says about giving him time etc. He is a hardened businessman after all and if he thinks Bowyer isn't up to scratch then he'll be gone faster than you or I can say "Jeg ønsker dig alt det bedste i dine fremtidige bestræbelser".
Cowley's or Curbs for me. The latter isn't on sentimental value but he knows the clubs and seems to disagree with some of Bowyers more ignorant policies when speaking on VP.

Having watched the game on Sky tonight I would have Paul Cook in a heartbeat but he's a Northern lad and a feel the SW job will be his pretty soon.
So if not Cook I'd say Howe, Cowley or Mick McCarthy. The latter would be majorly despised but he'd righten the ship for starters.
But as I've always said - you don't know who's available until you advertise the job. You'd be surprised at who would take it.

I'm definitely in the Bowyer deserves more time camp. For all the shenanigans of the last few seasons the one constant for me has been LB and his backroom team and even when we were at our lowest ebb in terms of the off-field stuff he has still given us a team to get behind and that has, in the main, been competitive and played good football at times. The football at the start of last season was some of the best I'd seen Charlton play in years.
I was as gutted about relegation but in the cold light of day it was an incredible achievement for that squad to take it to the last day of the season, and if it hadn't been for an injury time goal from Barnsley we'd have stayed up. Granted I think LB made mistakes that season, and he's definitely made his fair share this season as well. I winced at his treatment of Johnny Williams a few weeks ago and I think some of his criticism of individuals is a risky strategy, and I think we've been overly defensive in games recently however I think it's also easy to overlook that he's only in his third full season as Manager. Every manager makes mistakes but he's brought us so much more good than bad since he took over and he's still got plenty of credit in the bank with me at least.
It wasn't so many months ago we couldn't stop winning and keeping clean sheets, I don't think LB has become a bad manager overnight and I don't think we've become a bad team overnight. I think we've hit a poor run of form and I do think we need some additions this window to add some quality to the spine of the team, but this is a team that can easily finish top 6 at the end of the season and LB has taken us up once before there's no reason it can't happen again. I think since the takeover we've all raised our expectations a little given what a breath of fresh air TS has been, but the ambition this season was top 6 and we're still in and around it despite our recent drop in form and a couple of wins in our next games we'll be right in amongst it again.
But it's not disrespectful in any way. I'm not calling for his head like I said, I'm merely asking the question. We've shipped at least 2 goals in our last 5 games in a row, we've won one game in 7 and our manager is calling players out left right and centre. We have a new owner with big ambitions and deep pockets, meaning we are now an attractive proposition to other managers. And yet apparently it's disrespectful to even hypothesis about it.
What, pray tell, would have to happen before it's ok in your eyes to start this conversation? Ship 4 goals every game? Drop into the relegation zone? Bowyer K.Oing a player in the centre circle because they didn't 2 foot a player from behind when he thought they should have done?
Paul Cook is the obvious answer if he doesn’t end up at Sheffield Wednesday.
If we were to look at potentials from inside our own league, I’d suggest Ryan Lowe at Plymouth or Russell Martin at MK Dons. Appleton ain’t leaving Lincoln for another League One job. Not until the summer if his team bottle it.

Just because we nearly went into admin doesn’t mean we have to accept 2-0 defeats every week. Just because we nearly went into admin, doesn’t mean the manager can throw players under the bus each week.

If Bowyer stays or leaves whoever is in charge next season is going to have a huge challenge on their hands. Need almost a brand new squad whilst staying within a salary cap.

I don’t think it’s necessarily about writing off Bowyer off. There are undoubtedly fans who would want him sacked purely based on results. However I think for the majority it goes much further than that. He works with the team all week yet doesn’t know his best formation, tactics or team. He is now regularly criticising the players in public, and highlighting the lack of fight. I actually agree with him on that, 100% effort is the least we should all expect even if the quality isn’t there. If I was managing a team who weren’t trying hard enough I’d be fuming too.
The big question. Why aren’t they trying for him? That is why the answer is looking increasingly like he has to go. Yes players should take responsibility for poor performances and particularly bad mistakes. Nobody can blame Lee Bowyer for Pearce’ shit defending or Maatsen conceding possession sloppily. But what you can blame Lee for is failing to motivate the players. It’s his job and frankly for 4-5 games now it looks like very few give a shit. This isn’t just about Maddison or Williams jumping out of challenges, it’s about the players regularly failing to perform for their manager. Results can change quickly in football, I’m not sure confidence in the manager from the players can.
