Laughable though how some fan’s opinion switch can flip from one side to the other so much on just one signing.
This is a bit cheeky tbf - this is an absolutely enormous signing in a position we were looking completely understaffed in
it does feel like a last minute winner (not sure if we're all mad but it really does)
We’ve all been conditioned by Sky to treat deadline day with far more importance than it deserves, but I’ll admit when a window-busting signing does happen it feels pretty great

Agreed. If we had either bought nobody or ended up with a rubbish panic buy, it would have been a very disappointing day considering the attacking options we shipped out
Decent window. Millar and Jaiyesemi add natural width. It stops the need to put central midfielders out wide, and gives our full backs a bit more to work with. No disrespect to either, but having Gunter and JFC/Gilbey going down the wing (which we’ve seen at times this season), isn’t going to cut it. Looking forward to a more balanced team and hopefully Bowyer has what he feels are the team that will compete to his standards
Looks like we're setting up to play Flat 4-4-2/ 4-3-3
He would be ideal in a 433. In a 442 (with him and Millar as wingers) I've no idea who the midfield pair would be, as we might get outnumbered
4231 would work also, Stockley up top, Millar, Chuks and DJ in the 3
Am I the only one to never notice opposition players?
Nope. I'm just the same. Only ones I notice are ones that are well known.......although I did take note of the lad at QPR who ran Pearce ragged in the 2nd half at their place when we draw 2-2. Double barrelled Osi-Samuel (or suchlike).

I bet Steve Gallen had poor old Josh Parker on standby.

Some of the bollocks you come out with I’m surprised you even notice what our players are doing.
DJ is on a three and a half year contract. Interesting that most of the players we signed in the last rush-job of a transfer window were only given one-year contracts. That says a lot about what LB & SG thought of them.
Very pleased with this signing and the intent it shows. Even if we don't go up this year, I think there are building blocks being put in place for the longer-term success of the club.
We have two wide players now, will we play a 4-4-2 every game? Seems doubtful as they can't rotate out. But it certainly gives us more options formation-wise and is a big upgrade on the middle-heavy squad we've had up until now.
Blimey, it looks like some peoples pants got a double drenching tonight. First people were wetting their knickers that we hadn't signed anyone and then they were wetting them again because we did sign someone.

Nope , I’m with you but put it down to old age
but once they sign for us all of a sudden I have huge recollection.... what a player he is , one that stuck out when we played them and I always hoped we’d sign him , something along them lines always seems to happen
tough tough transfer window that, bit of a rollercoaster for an emotional wreck of a fan, so hit the Cadbury’s and chocolate digestives hard but it’s come at a price this time of the morning . Can we get our business done earlier next window so I don’t have to be up half the night doing mine .
2 stand out points for me this January window compared to so many others recently...
We took an inform premier league loanee midfielder from a rival(ish), its usually the other way round, and secondly we've spent a fair wedge on a young exciting player we can potentially build around.
That alone speaks volumes to me on our new vision. Throw in the other signings from this window and its been very healthy.

I don’t think many can honestly say they knew who he was
How can you watch a game and not be aware of opposition players? I’m not saying all but you’d remember ones that catch the eye surely. DJ is one of those, as was, for example, Baah.
Sage, as someone who wanted Maddison at Cafc years ago your insider information wasn't needed on this occasions.
It was so patently obvious that MM and Bowyer wasn't going to work within a couple of weeks.; at 27 a very useful lower division player had lost his way totally.
Marcus Maddison was going to either be a great signing or a complete disaster. I was hoping for the former.
Sadly it was the latter.
Was he even give an opportunity for it to be either?
Losing Williams and Maddison on the same day seems...odd.
Now he’s gone (probably permanently eventually) I’m happier than I was originally to reveal that a week into joining us, Maddison contacted my daughter on a dating app and wanted to meet her etc, wisely & luckily (for him) she knocked him back, her words were, she thought he was “fit” 😳 but, he came across as a bit of a knob. I’m in no way suggesting that had any bearing on Bowyers decision to let him go, but I’m claiming it 😄

He done the same to a girl my mate was seeing and ended up shagging her. Needless to say they aren't seeing each other anymore

Did the same to a friend of mine too, wasn't too impressed when he was already back on Insta messaging her after he was subbed off at Burton away before the game had even finished!

Stockley > Bogle
Millar > Maddison
Smith > Levitt
Jaiyesimi > Williams
get the CB’s back and keep them all fit and we have a chance - nobody will enjoy having Millar / Aneke / Stockley / Jaiyesami attacking them
Agree, agree, agree.

Helmets.
I doubt those lads even have a helmet.
With hindsight, a very lucky event as instead we have a far superior player and much younger.
This has been an excellent window methinks.
Rock on Tommy.
