Give that they'd have finished mid-table without the deduction, surely he'd have lost less than £36m by finishing the season, keeping the squad together and then trying to sell them normally.
This surely only goes to show it's been dodgy from the start.

Saw that on Twitter and surely it has to be fake unless no creditable purchaser exists.
Would explain though why there is no deal in place despite about sixty interested parties coming forward when they initially got put into administration
I'd assumed it was to save the football club and find a reputable buyer?
But from that article it seems as if their main aim is to make as much money as possible.
They have a duty to act in the best interests of creditors as a whole, and will attempt to realise the highest returns for all groups if rescue is not possible. Which means selling all assets they can if they can’t affect a sale at the right price
The stadium and training ground are surely worth more as football assets than as land?
Land is cheap in Wigan, the DW stadium is on a retail park, a sector dying on its arse
Aren't the Rugby League club joint owners if the Stadium?
Also I thought one of TS's astute insights was knowing that Wigan is mainly a RL town. I still regard Preston as a bigger club because it is a football city.

No the RL club were just tenants, however i believe the Warriors owner is now the new favourite to buy the stadium.
So the football club will therefore have to rent it off him.

I think they were one of the bidders for the club.

Preston have a heritage going back to the start of the Football league as well, whereas Wigan only became a league club in 1978, so the town has had an awful long history where football fans supported clubs elsewhere (in Manchester or Liverpool) or Rugby.
That Euxton training ground is roughly midway between the 3 clubs (Bolton, Wigan and Preston)
Most other clubs that have gone into administration (Palace, Soton etc) seems to have come out of it smelling of roses, ready to bounce straight back, whereas for Wigan it's been agony for their fans, with one bit of bad news following another

This is the kind of freak show football is becoming - all down to greed and avarice. What a f***ing mess.
