Signings take time if you want quality players at a reasonable cost.

No way we're going to accept it, but i don't see is that much of a piss take.

A 23 year old midfielder with plenty of championship experience who cost 3.5m last summer, in exchange for a striker who's nearly 30 and can leave on a free in 4 months time.
I thought I read that it was a loan swap. I.e they loan Taylor and we loan Palmer to the end of the season. Leaves them with both players in the summer and us with neither. Probably why Bowyer said it was ‘ridiculous’.

He would be right about that then. That is a ridiculous suggestion.

There's no way they'd even bother to waste their time offering that.
  • Literally no fake rumours even?!

Only 12 of the 24 (including ourselves) have signed anybody, and 6 of those 12 haven't actually increased their squad size as they've let as many or more leave.

Only 4 of the 12 to sign somebody have actually spent any money (Hull and Swansea have brought players in for undisclosed amounts)
Charlton are 3 out (Kayal, Leko and Gallagher).
    & sinking like a brick.

  • What's happened at Swindon shows the danger of relying on loan players

First Eoin Doyle was recalled by Bradford
Now their second top scorer Jerry Yates has been recalled by Rotherham

Between them they scored 35 goals for Swindon this season...

Which is why all ours had clauses that they had to be called back in the first 2 weeks.  Imagine if Gallagher and Cullen were recalled on the 31st!

I think that’s true but I’m not sure why.

One reason I’ve read and observed is that just before dawn when the sun comes up, if there are rain clouds around you get a pre-dawn rain.

Had years of this with dawn time dog walks where it starts just before dawn and finishes just after and also had it while sailing.

Internet doesn’t see it as a recognised phenomenon though so maybe it’s just me.

anyway hope dawn is bloody soon as I’m freezing cold and wet to the skin.
  • Why would they want to sign a centre back from the scum?
  • You want Rumours....??

Fleetwood Mac had an album full of them.
  • Looking at what is going on elsewhere is also interesting.  Read last night that Edison Cavani’s proposed move to whoever could end up costing £50m, based on his wages being at a staggering £360k a week and a signing on fee etc.  I think it highlights just how screwed up the Jan window is.  It’s all comparative and I think we’re finding out how hard it is for our budget, versus what is available.

Man Utd talk of splashing £30m on Jude Bellingham as documented elsewhere.  I do think it’s going to prove a bit of a damp squib of a window, but I do genuinely think it’s not for the lack of trying.  Can’t be we have funds to put in a bid for Maddison, offer Taylor a reported £18k a week, but not be trying
