No way we're going to accept it, but i don't see is that much of a piss take.
A 23 year old midfielder with plenty of championship experience who cost 3.5m last summer, in exchange for a striker who's nearly 30 and can leave on a free in 4 months time.
I thought I read that it was a loan swap. I.e they loan Taylor and we loan Palmer to the end of the season. Leaves them with both players in the summer and us with neither. Probably why Bowyer said it was ‘ridiculous’.
He would be right about that then. That is a ridiculous suggestion.

There's no way they'd even bother to waste their time offering that.
Not a rumour per se but Amos and Page in the under 23s starting XI today, Aneke, who scored a hattrick on his comeback last week, isn't in the squad so I presume is on the bench tonight
Only 12 of the 24 (including ourselves) have signed anybody, and 6 of those 12 haven't actually increased their squad size as they've let as many or more leave.
Only 4 of the 12 to sign somebody have actually spent any money (Hull and Swansea have brought players in for undisclosed amounts)
My expectations in this transfer window are now zero. I do not believe the hype and actually believe MS to be all talk and no delivery. I wait and want to be proved wrong.
Who does your club need to keep hold of? "Alex Mowatt is a player at the top of his game. He is the heartbeat of this team on and off the pitch and leads by example."
We were linked with this player earlier in the window. I wonder, is he the midfielder that we turned down because he wanted an extra £1k pw?
Looking at what is going on elsewhere is also interesting. Read last night that Edison Cavani’s proposed move to whoever could end up costing £50m, based on his wages being at a staggering £360k a week and a signing on fee etc. I think it highlights just how screwed up the Jan window is. It’s all comparative and I think we’re finding out how hard it is for our budget, versus what is available.
Man Utd talk of splashing £30m on Jude Bellingham as documented elsewhere. I do think it’s going to prove a bit of a damp squib of a window, but I do genuinely think it’s not for the lack of trying. Can’t be we have funds to put in a bid for Maddison, offer Taylor a reported £18k a week, but not be trying
I honestly think they just want us to survive then we'll see the real action in the summer. What happens in the next nine days won't tell us much about the future IMO.

Short sighted if thats the case - Decent player and the chance to torpedo a team below us

Cannot see SG saying he isn't work an extra 52k a year.

Yes I think you're right - and I believe I made a comment a couple of weeks ago that the January window is not the one to build a team. But it is the one to fill gaps, and to increase our chances of survival there are 2 or 3 gaps to fill. No marquee signings required, just solid players than can add something to the current squad.
Plug the gaps with a 2 or 3 of high quality loans ? Even if it costs a bit in loan fees ? Short term gain to see us up until the summer - no increase in the perm wage bill ? Then we go again at the end of the season and buildthe squad we need to challenge
Don't believe for a second Mowatt was the player, our staff ain't stupid, 1k a week to nick a relegation rivals key player and cause them a issue for their season.
Hopefully we find out who it is one day but I would like to hope it ain't him
Perhaps waiting to bury news of another defeat this evening with some better news tomorrow?
Is that what we have come to?
Probably not but a defeat this evening followed by no signings or contract for Bowyer, Jackson and Marshall and Matt Southall will need to be on top form on Friday.

First Eoin Doyle was recalled by Bradford
Now their second top scorer Jerry Yates has been recalled by Rotherham
Between them they scored 35 goals for Swindon this season...
Had years of this with dawn time dog walks where it starts just before dawn and finishes just after and also had it while sailing.
anyway hope dawn is bloody soon as I’m freezing cold and wet to the skin.

Fleetwood Mac had an album full of them.
