An offence of endangering life if used could result in life inprisonment. I suspect the charge will result in something like three years.

Or a slap on the back of the hand and a suspended sentence

The judiciary will be pressured into making an example of them.....I say this only on the assumption that they will in fact be found guilty.

If found guilty, the airlines will sue them, and that will be that.

What could they realistically get out of a couple of Crawley chavs?

£4.50 in cash, 20 Benson & Hedges, a six pack of Stella and two second hand drones.

Yes based on stuff i've read about the bloke, it seems like he was arrested purely because he has an interest in flying model helicopters and happens to live in Crawley!

I sincerely hope not. One of the few things functioning at the moment is an independent judiciary.

Other than catching the people responsible in the act, how are the police going who did it? Mobile phone GPS? Any footage found on any devices found? Other than that not sure what else could be used.

My initial reaction was, based in no real evidence, is that these two are copycats.

Couldn't catch the operators for days, drones then stop. Drone reappears and two arrested almost straight away.

Regardless, if these two are found guilty they have no excuse of not knowing what they are doing so five years each minus 25% for an early guilty plea.

They'll not catch anyone as there is no one to catch.

I reckon it was Ryanair sponsored, so they could catch up on more overtime owed.

You heard it here first folks

I bet the legal system does their usual, boring thing of waiting until they're charged, tried, given an opportunity to defend themselves and then convicted before setting a sentence. Typical!

    I consider myself reprimanded! :-)

    For now..:-)

Released, without charge. No longer considered suspects.

    Bloody rule of law.

Defamation of character law suits anyone?

Just as well the tabloids aren't in charge of law and order.
The innocent couple would have been hung drawn and quartered this morning.

Have you read this thread? It's not just the papers jumping to conclusions and sentencing before any charges are even made.

Oh well hopefully the couple do manage to get some decent damages off the papers and hopefully the people who actually did it are caught )not holding my breath for that)
