We know it is possible. Not in a remote sense but in a realistic sense. But we are going to have to up our game a bit although it could be argued that we have done so to an extent having gained 12 points from our last 6 games. That form continued to the end of the season would gain us 74 points which would absolutely get you into the play offs.
Gillingham have beaten Wigan 1-0, means we've dropped to 10th.
We do have three games in hand on them though if you include the Doncaster game on Friday and the Lincoln game thats been suspended
2 games.
They've played 39-games, we've played 37-games - I was then being confusing by counting the midweek round of fixtures when we dont play Lincoln so we've effectively got three chances of getting past them, but you're also right they'll still only have two games in hand.
The fact Gillingham are currently in the top 6 after 39 games - they have played 2/3/4 more than others - just shows what a ridiculous league this is.
Also think there are a few more twists yet to come
There is no guarantee the top six at the end of this weekend will be the one come the final game of the season - and thats nothing to do with the games in hand
How can we moan about Gillingham being ahead of us when they have taken 4 points from our 2 games against eachother, and we have taken 1?! This is how the team's jump over others in the league table, which never really lies!

This is very true. The table doesn't lie. I would question, however, how, when one compares the relative squads, they have ended up above us. Whether we like it or not, it might just be that one Manager got his team playing at their maximum potential whereas the other didn't.
How many players, for example, do they have with Championship experience compared to the dozen or so we have? Apart from, of course, the soon to be 50, Simon Royce that is!

I did say before xmas we'd finish up around 8th to 10th. Didnt realise I was being so optimistic.

Yet we adopt a similar stance with 'Teams like Gillingham, Lincoln etc' shouldn't be above us'.
Good post by AA above.
This really wasnt going to be a weekend for taking advantage of our rivals
All the more important that we won today
