What a shift!! Sounded like KAG and Konsa had great cameos. Could have been 5 or 6! Plymouth game all but forgotten. If we can add another striker, we might be pretty tough
Strikers ? Who needs bloody strikers ?! One of the best performances of the last few years . So many good performances but Billy Clarke was the best for me . I'm not getting carried away but play like that most weeks and we won't be far away from the top.
Great win, going 1-0 up makes all the difference. It can create space to counter attack, and today it did especially as the game went on. We have players that can use it.
Watching the goals back Clarke played a part in 3 of them and wasn't on the pitch for the 4th. One assist and passed to the players that assisted the other 2.
If anything it's more reason to buy another striker. A lesser striker might not have scored the early chance that Magennis took...
Well that was the kind of full on attacking performance that KR was supposed to have delivered regularly at Franchise. Agree with all the above comments. A long time since Charlton made me reach for the bubbly stuff to go with dinner.
Right, Karl. Well done. Now get in there on Monday and tell those idiots to let you get another striker in. And if they refuse, tell us.
Not great in the first half, but more than made up for that in the 2nd. We could have easily scored 7 today.
Clarke had a great game - he will always put a shift in, has a good footballing brain and a bit of skill as well.
Only real downside was the lack of communication between Amos and the centre Backs in the 1st half. Amos also dwells on the ball a bit too long - however made a couple of good saves to keep us in front. Much better in the 2nd half though.

Was thinking that myself about the importance for us of scoring first. Last week Plymouth taking the lead allowed them to defend a bit deeper and we really struggled to break that down. Today as the game wore on and Northampton had to push forwards more and more we really came into our own. Pretty much everyone in our midfield has the ability to carry the ball past players and Da Silva and Magennis only add to that. KAG too off the bench (was willing him to get that goal, he's going to fly once he does), plus Reeves and Marshall to return to the squad as well.
There are going to be weeks like last week where it doesn't quite click and we look a bit blunt, but other weeks where it does click and we will hand out some real thrashings.
Big thing for me - 4 games so far and entertainment in them all. Robbo is being honest when he says he is trying to play good attacking football and as a fan you can forgive the odd off game when that is the intention.
Clarke was class today. JFC deserved his goals . Second was a beauty . Annoyed we didn't finish them off sooner but glad we did in the end . Need 2 strikers in my opinion
Some of the best attacking play that I've seen since probably our last promotion season and we totally deserved three or four goals.
That said, we did let the Cobblers in a few too many times for my liking. A better team would've scored more than once this afternoon. Hope Robinson has a plan for tackling this going forward.
That central midfield three were superb all afternoon. Knocking the ball around well and working hard. Not much more you can ask from them. Holmes was absolutely terrific as well. Didn't quite come off for Fosu but apart from that thought everyone else had good games.
Oh and that miss from Josh at 1-0 was just so frustrating because for the other 90 minutes he showed just how crucial he is to how we play our football.
A game that totally summed him up. Non stop effort, strength and pace and a well taken header with just that one chance that he should've buried for a second goal.
Northampton were pretty poor, and their formation I think played into our hands, but that was an outstanding performance all from the team. Fluid movement, hard work and a real excitement when we had the ball; indeed, it felt as if we were going to score every time we went forward. The early goal really helped as it meant Northampton had to actually play which left lots of space on the counter, especially as the game wore on. Kashi and KFC are a very dangerous midfield pair, the attacking midfield trio look so dangerous and Magennis provided an outlet well. Special mention to Billy Clarke, while Fosu/Holmes will grab the headlines he's a real player, a proper football brain, leads the press well and was involved in all we did today. We still need another striker, but that was an all round performance to enjoy.
Not one poor performance, everyone doing their job with effort and pride it makes the difference.
Amos alleviated my initial concerns with some great saves and a solid display. Billy Clarke was something else today. Our two marquee signings waiting in the wings - might struggle to get in the starting eleven at this rate.

Chelsea are short in midfield. When they come in for Kashi, we should accept nothing less than £25m.

Not seen them yet - but sounds like a couple of blinding goals from Holmes and JFC
Only criticism is we wasted alot of chances which caused a bit tension in the last 10 minutes

Oh wait, do you think we should hold out for £30m? If so, that's a good point

Football brains.
Back four also showed intelligence.
Hope springs.....

Clarke MOM for me, absolutely top drawer, reminds me of Graham Stuart
