  • Surely we have Crofts as cover for Kashi, and then Dijksteel

    And if desperate Jackson.

Looks like the club is going in the right direction with this one
    Thank you Tom (yet again).

Seems like a logical move. Our physios have an outstanding track record in rehabilitating players with Achilles problems.

Which is why the fitness/medical team has been changed
Ah yes - how could I forget the new medical team. The ones that Kashi trusted enough to seek his own Achilles rehabilitation in the Middle East rather than with the club.

Tbh I'd be mightily surprised if a third division medical team featured the best Achilles tendon specialist in the world, but seeing as it doesn't, perhaps it's best he seeked rehabilitation elsewhere?
  • KR says ""Look, we need another right-back in to cover Sollsy, we need a left-back in, we need a winger and we need a goalscorer"

We've needed that since the end of last season so what's been going on for the past 2.5 months? Now we're less than 3 weeks away from the first league game.

We're nearly as badly run as that Chelsea lot who still haven't signed their targets either!

At their level they probably have a lot less players to choose from...

I guess KR doesn't see it that way. Maybe a good thing, could be hoping to move Crofts on, or have him as a 5th choice CM.

As for Dijksteel if he's as good as we hope he'll break through. He shouldn't be 3rd or 4th choice just because RD and KM want young players to get a chance. Being thrown in too early didn't do KAG much good, doubt it helped Kennedy either.

not asking for him to be 3rd/4th, I would say he's currently around 6th.

We currently have Kashi, Aribo, JFC, Crofts and Jacko, do we really need another one over a GK, LB, RB, No 10 or STR?

I thought the medical team changed in the last 6 months ?

My only problem with Da silva is that he has only just finished the U19 tournament & hasn't had a rest all summer. Think either him or Chelski may insist he doesn't play until September, meaning we play 4 or 5 games without a recognised LB (Jacko too old & Barnes too young IMO)

JDS is 19 years of age, so long as he has done the correct recovery activities after each match and with U19's there'll be lots of that, he'll not need much resting. He only played a few games at the end of Charlton's 16/17 season, light training and a couple of 60 minute appearances in the home friendlies and he'll be good to go. It's far more likely km/rd/tk will balls up the deal with Chelsea and leave the fat scouse gobshite shorthanded at 5 to the window closing, if I were Chelsea and seeing the level JDS has already attained I'd be keen to get him playing higher up than 3rd division and certainly in an environment less catastrophic than Charlton's

That is the point I made.

Kashi's injury predates the current set up.

To be fair KR said depending on Kashi's fitness.

Yeah to be fair they're a side that really needed a lot of strengthening.

We missed a trick there...could have done a swap deal for Hazard...Ajose going the other way

But we'd make Hazard about as useful as Ajose in next to no time.

  • I wonder if the reason the Martin and Reeves deals are not materializing is that those players never did like Robinson and don't want to play for him again. I mean, I never played for Robinson and I don't like him already. So why would they?

The press always says the same thing... "Player X use to play for Manager Y and Manager Y wants to reunite."

They never ask if their relationship was actually good.

Maybe because they've met him and you haven't.
  • Glad we have gotten our transfer dealings out of the way early this year

Former midfielder Josh Wright linked, he's currently at Gillingham.

    http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/07/17/por-charlton-weigh-up-wright-move/

Surprised to see he's added goals to his game, scored 14 last season - http://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=47198&season_id=149

Takes their penalties but a good player for them and their captain I believe. Unfinished business with us that's for sure.
  • Only 27, Wright seems to have been around for ages
  • Would Wright want to rejoin us?

Wasnt happy when he left the club with how he'd been left out of the First Team the season beforehand
  • No better than what we have already. Id rather play Kashi & Aribo.

Neither of them will be getting close to 14 goals. Completely different players.
