People sometimes connect intelligence to knowledge. Mastermind winners are often described as intelligent where usually they simply have a good memory.
Intelligence is more subtle and is often connected to problem solving.
Katrien has created problems not solved them, indeed she seems unable to even identify problems, and certainly unable to see the problems that arise as a consequence of her actions. Hence the plethora of 'consultants' and 'specialists' she is obliged to hire to get her out of the difficulties that flow from her stupid decisions.
It may be she hired like minded people. The sight of that Cojones phalanx of police on that final day against Burnley is a bookend to her PowerPoint approach. How appropriate that the phalanx day should also include Meire sneaking off early and the destruction of the sofa.

It could be said that intelligence and confidence are needed to recognise when one needs help and is willing to seek it.

Bludgeoning on when one is out of one's depth is the opposite of intelligence and more arrogant than confident. I would argue that she has done just this but, at least, she did eventually she did get help - even if she was told, or ordered, to do so.

    Not off again is it?

Now wouldn’t that be the most charlton thing ever
    It would I suppose mate.

That's if u think it was ever on in the first place!

Something is or was happening that I am certain how close how imminent how far they are going with it is open for interpretation,

I know that it’s not always a good thing to let the info out that has reached and I def don’t think it’s a good thing to mention things like who and how many potential sources there are

Imo it shows a great deal of miss trust and I would question the reasons why it was leaked to AB knowing it would go in the votv

I hope that it’s not trouble making by the person leaking
That makes you the fifth source : - )

I always wonder why something leaks. Could be a negative or devious reason or just that football is a tiny village where everyone knows everyone and so interesting gossip gets passed on.

I believe it when @Redhenry confirms it :-)
Haha just seen this @Henry Irving
I do know that KM met a Chinese consortium at the end of last season. Haven't been told anything recently though.
    Cheers @Redhenry

At least if he is meeting people it means he's willing to sell. Why meet them otherwise?

I believe NLA who says this one is active but when it's on the OS

When you set your house on fire and realise that you don't put out the flames by wringing out a wet cloth over them. Calling the fire brigade is an act of desperation not intelligence in my view.

    Takeover not imminent?

"And we were told by one of them on Thursday, October 19th, that a deal could even go through before the end of the next week."

"I can report with certainty that the due diligence is at an advanced stage. While that does not guarantee a deal will be concluded or any timeline,"

    "TAKEOVER IMMINENT ???"

    Be like Slade, be patient.
What? But they wished it could be Christmas every day!

    Oh no, that was Wizzard.

Except with a different outcome, hopefully.

Funny thread though. I wonder how many posters on here, on being told as children that Christmas was in a week's time, announced the next day, 'No Christmas this year then.'
Probably not many. They might have got a bit miffed, however, if they were told that Christmas was IMMINENT and 9 days later not a single decoration had gone up.

The clickbaity headline has fooled people into thinking things are much more advanced than they are. Personally, I've seen all this too many times to get excited until it's on the OS.

As much as I love her, nail on head here from seth

I'm pretty sure that stupid afternoon tea idea would've been her brainchild as well

I'm not sure I would compare a few PR gaffs and some poor scouting to, literally, setting a house on fire, personally, but just for the avoidance of doubt I was, actually, agreeing with you Seth!

That is the other problem but it means he is willing to sell.

We don't know and may never know officially how much he is asking or, when he sells, how much he gets.

But if it has got as far as DD then it is likely that an indicative price has been agreed be that £50 or £15
    corrected for you :-))

Or maybe they just didn't read to the end of the post where it said it could be 'as early as next week', i.e. tomorrow at the earliest.
Takeovers don't come with handy countdown clocks or a buffering bar that tells you how many % we are through.
  • The more deafening silence we have in regards to the matter, the better.

Will be a long old process, the amount of money and terms involved will have everything elongated a fair extent. I'd be hazarding a guess at the second week of November, if it's to happen.

Only we don't know when the process started. Could have been months ago for all we know. Could have been last week although at least one of ABs sources suggested more likely to be the former.

I’m guessing the “immenent” aspect to this might well revolve around DD not throwing up any nasty surprises meaning that the indicative bid almost going through on a nod. Any skeletons in the cupboard might mean weeks more of wrangling and no certainty of a satisfactory conclusion whatever that means.

I think the next we hear will be it’s done or collapsed.

Edit: It’s hard to believe that DD would be a source of hidden problems. Duchatelet and the evil empire might be many things but I doubt sloppy accounts are one of them.
  • They might not be guilty on sloppy accounts but there is surely some hidden gems around players signed on this watch - how much of the wages we are subsidising etc. Also I thought I read that KM wasn't aware of the former directors charge over The Valley and having to pay them out on promotion to prem or sale of the club? I would imagine the sale of Charlton is more complicated than other clubs of the same size for these reasons?

I think the players contracts you mean are now largely off the books. Losses made are just that losses made. The likes of Vetekole, Texeira and Watt are no longer our problem other than the black hole of wages they became. I don’t think it’s any coincidence that these difficult to shift players were all shifted this summer. Decks cleared for a sale.

As for the directors charges still outstanding I find it inconceivable that Richard Murray hasn’t pointed out that issue in the last three years. It’s money that would need to be found on that promotion but given the riches that the PL throw at clubs these days I doubt it’s a deal breaker.

It is collapses I don't think there will be any official statement so the most we will get will be an ITK post on here or another uncorroborated story ion the VOTV.

By the way Airman I'm not criticisng, I'm just pointing out that I don't think anyone will be bragging, publicly, that a sale fell through.

The £7m is repayable on change of control, because it's a first charge on the assets, so has to be addressed. It can be rolled over by agreement, as in 2014, or negotiated down, if the seven parties involved are willing. Vetokele is still on Charlton's books.

There hasn't been any acknowledgement or denial by the club has there apart from KRs mysterious phone call from one of the board so I doubt there'll be anything until that magical day when they fuck off. Even then it wouldn't surprise me if they just disappeared with no statement until somewhere down the line doucebag issued a bitter rambling statement accusing a few bitter ex employees / vinegar pissers of sabotage.

Who would they be so we know where to pin the medals.

We’ve had plenty of shit on our green bit over the last few years. Perhaps that’s confused them.
