A year on since they last appeared in front of Charlton fans.
Given up trying to work out what their motives are. Bizarre that their takeover deal could still be alive 2 years later, as you'd assume with any normal buyer that they'd either have closed the deal OR moved on to other targets
This ! It just doesn't make sense to me.
If a price has been agreed but it involves a significant extra payment upon promotion I can see why prospective buyers might balk at it. Giving Roland an extra £10m or whatever for achieving what he failed to do/couldn't be bothered to attempt would stick in my craw too. Cross fingers that problem is gone now and the arguing over a few player sell-on clauses can be put to bed quickly.
why would you pay him say 10m on promotion if you can wait until we are promoted and pay a more realistic price. Personally I’m happy the Aussies are still hanging around. Shows they are serious about buying the Club but not willing to pay an unrealistic price for it. Others have walked never to be seen or heard from again.
I hope someone told all 3 to do one. Aussies only turn up to play off games. Worse than my little brother....... at least he comes over for a couple of regular games in a season as well.

That wouldn't necessarily make them bad investors though?

I think it may even be worth stroking Roland's ego and just gently push him towards getting the sale done.
Of course, it would just be a complete lie.
We want new owners. Roland wants rid of us.
An agreement has to be made and it is in his hands to do so.
I believe a takeover is now a lot more likely.
Let's be positive and let's stay positive.
Don't get angry and or frustrated.
We have interested parties and it would be fantastic if (as long as they are fully confirmed to be fit and proper) we have new owners before next season starts.
We would then 100% have our club back and really start looking forward to a very bright future again. 🙂
Only want to add to what others have said, that any prospective owners will have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to have recognised the fantastic potential in our club following the unbelievable season the management and their players have achieved against all the odds.
A new owner would have heard the respected SCP's words pitchside after the match, when he stated that this squad should be kept together, albeit with the addition of a few players to add strength & depth, under our Lee. There is indeed something VERY special in this group of lads that didn't need a £4k striker to win them promotion.
For that to happen, the ownership would need to change almost immediately IMO so that all concerned may plan accordingly in the close season, well before pre season training etc begins.
And, most importantly, to offer substantial new contracts to Bow & Jacko first. Then, with respectable contract offers, others, maybe not all, will follow.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.....
In addition, who could fail to be impressed in both semi final legs but primarily yesterday by the passionate support for this club and the manner in which every last one of those present in the "red end" gave their all for their team. This MUST not be allowed to fragment again as it has under RD's stewardship. We were definitely the 12th "man" , out singing the mighty Mackems and coming together as one, putting aside any past conflicting views as to the right way to support/not support in this challenging era for the club.
And to see SO many kids in their Charlton shirts, singing their hearts out and loving every minute of this special day brought a lump to my throat. We have to keep these young 'uns on board if at all possible.
We may , as yet not completely have our club back....
But the Charlton family as a whole HAS returned.
All we need now is someone with vision, ambition & the ability to recognise the potential of our famous football club.
Still amazed that the Aussies are still there. They either have the money or they don't, what have they been waiting all year for?
The price to come down to a realistic level, perhaps.
A guess is that a price may have been agreed, predicated on the club being promoted to the Championship, and Roland wouldn’t reduce it while we were in League One. And that feeling strengthened when I figured that Gerard was coming to the match.
Sorry but I think if it was a done deal we would have heard it from a few more sources than just the secret footballer. I’m sure there are interested parties but there has been for 2 years.
If the Aussies don’t follow up now they never will. Any wavering investors will be persuaded right now. Otherwise I guess they still need to find others to stump up cash.

Agreed it's now or never for The Aussies the way I see it. They've had over 12 months officially to sort out a price and deal and if League One was the hurdle then it's now gone and now is the time to deal.

And to strike whilst the iron's still hot.

Bowyer said something that made me think it has been, as did the tone of some of the comms from the club. It sounds like a badly kept secret.
