Which would indicate that The Valley is part of the deal and the charges rollover.
Would also indicate buyer is an idiot and is happy to pay £20-£30mn for the Club with no control of it's most valuable assets, as charges are over all assets of the Club. Which also means buyer cannot raise any finance against said assets without permission or enter into any Leases on assets. Worry if new buyer keeps charges outstanding as this is their best bargaining tool with Roland to get price down.
Maybe they don't need to raise finance against the assets, and are happy to let the non-interest bearing loans sit there knowing that should they get to the promised land the first £7m of the £100m+ Prem dividend is used to clear the charges.
We also don't have details of exactly how much they might have paid, and this could have been negotiated down to reflect the outstanding loans.
Which is what I said months & months ago. The ex-director loans are a drop in the ocean if/when we get to the Pram They are only paid back then. No interest due either. Could be in 3 years.....could be in 30 years.
If any owner need a to start taking loans secured on the club/ground then they are not the owner you want.
When the north end wrap around was built for £9M with a £6M bank loan, wasn't that secured against The Valley?
The north stand loan has been paid off.
I know but it was a regime borrowing against the assets.
Yep we've just been unlucky that Palace are pissing about in the Prem beating Man City and at the same time the scum are playing in the Championship and whilst that is happening Roland has given us another opportunity to equal and unless promoted this season create a new club record for ourselves of being in the third tier of English football for 3 seasons or more since we first left it in 1929 .
To me the boycotters are the hero's , everyone who refrained from spending , that twunt would not have left if our club was not losing a large some of money regularly for him , so every bit helps. I took the easier option of brain washing my kids and still going .
It's saved me a small fortune in kids kits , matchday programmes , match sponsorship , Valley Gold etc but my Charlton moral compass is different to others .
There was no way that prick was getting dough from me whilst he fucked my club up and turned it in to a laughing stock , I mean we are so pathetic I get pity from palace fans ffs
Sooner he goes the better and I have thought that from very early on in his ownership but then I could see unlike others that this pricks experiment was only heading one way
I wouldn’t worry about the last couple of years, ask them pieces of shit how many times they have won the FA Cup, they have been in our shadow most of our lives and always looked up to us over the last 113 years and not couple, I will take that.
I won’t be buying a season ticket until I know they share the same feelings as I do for Charlton Athletic.
I can answer that for you. An Australian consortium will not share the same feelings as you do for Charlton Athletic. However, there are probably few football club owners in the world, that have the same feelings for the club as the fans. If that's the football fan's measurement, then few would buy a S/T anywhere.

If you see an owner who you believe is destroying the club you love, it is hard to put money in his pocket. Yes, he may not lose any sleep over your money, but it does have a collective power in reminding him what a failure he is amongst other things. And this may or may not help him decide it isn't worth it in the end.
He never about us before he bought us, got a weekly or monthly report as all owners would from the CEO or MD. Looks at the bottom line every six months not the attendances. At least he has openly put his hands up in open forum and admitted mistakes were made, and I am sure even those who hate him the most he has bank rolled the club and has taken nothing out just kept it afloat as any owner of a football club would have done.
There Is no defence for what he has done. As a boycotter I have no regrets about that decision, nor would I criticise anyone that continues to go, but trying to rationalise the behaviour of that cu@t ... !!??

I agree - I think there will be no problem uniting fans going forwards. It isn't about fans who go and fans who don't. Fans that go don't go in support of Duchatelet. I think you will find it hard to find any sort of numbers amongst all fans that think Duchatelet did a good job and whilst people are entitled to their opinions, some opinions are ridiculous.
If/when it does happen I’m most looking forward to/hoping we can as a fan base put any differences we may have had over the time RD was here to one side and become one again. Don’t get me wrong, I know there has been a lot of bad blood between us over protests, Murray and a whole host of other things. Things have gotten personal and some have good reason to feel aggrieved. I just hope we can remember that the club had its best years under a stable setup and growing up very much as a child of Curbs, I felt the unity and strength of our fan base played a huge role in that.
I know we as a club have recovered from far worse, and I’ll admit I’m too young to remember the gut wrenching departure from the Valley and the hard, hard plight many of you fought so for to get us back to the Valley. I hope that that spirit comes cascading through in abundance when he’s gone and there’s no more division or animosity over those who were pro Roland, this forum, other forums, who was in the know or whatever. Just one fanbase, one club, one joy of following our boys home and away come rain or shine
You beat me to it Cabbles.
If WhenIwasLittleBoy or anyone else wants to start up all the disagreements of the past 5 years, then all they are doing is continuing the hurt and fractured fan base.
We ALL want Charlton to grow again and as a starting point I'd like our attendances to exceed Millwall's. If we are going to rise again, then no good can come of rehashing the same old discussions/disagreements.
I know I'm a fine one to talk, but let's not get suckered into it. Accept we have different points of view, but recognise that for the good of the club we love, we need to take a deep breath and start afresh.

I don't know, but it's not because they love Charlton Athletic as much as you or I. How could it possibly be? It's possible that some of the consortium hadn't even heard of Charlton a few years ago.

In my opinion, these were exceptional circumstances and I believe that I/we had to make a stand against a man that was destroying everything that this club stands for. It stopped being the Charlton that I love and therefore I stopped going because I couldn’t support what this regime was doing. No one knows what will come next, but the day he goes I will get season tickets again for myself and my son, as I know various family and friends will also do. I can handle thick and thin, but this is something else. Also, it’s not been easy not going ...

There is a word there fan.....in which case would answer your question. Stop being militant and trying to change the world, it’s boring. Let people support who they want regardless of your opinion on their Chairman.

Yes and making juvenile comments about typo’s and “What plant are you on” when someone has an opinion different to him with over 20 likes thus far.
He has had a long affair with CAFC as have myself and my family but his blinkered views are not too relevant to the future generations, ie. my 12 year old boy, who has attended since he was 4 and very nearly gave up on CAFC due to the last 4 years. We really do need these children for the future.
It is his opinion and his viewpoints which he is entitled to...

Pretty obvious the majority of Blackpool fans have decided not to go without any advice from me.
Fan doesn’t mean suck up any old nonsense that an owner hands out, as most Charlton supporters recognise, on here and in poll after poll.
You choose to believe it’s an ordinary situation because it suits you but you are in a tiny minority, as the reaction you get here shows.

Jesus Christ, what planet are you on? He's bank rolled the club because it would go into administration if he didn't continue to keep us afloat and then he'd lose everything he'd put into it.
As for admitting mistakes, I've read that he acknowledges he shouldn't have got involved in football, still waiting for him to admit that emailing tactical advice to a former England international was a bad idea, as were virtually all of his signings, his choice of CEO, his chief scout, his managers, etc, etc, etc. Still waiting for the apology for damaging, perhaps irreparably, a 100 plus year old football club. Definitely wasn't aware that an "open forum" had taken place - I'd have been there like a shot of I'd known about it.
5 years of failure and destruction and there's still people excusing him, unbelievable.
Is that the England international that fucked up tatics at Bramell Lane that would have got us to the semi finals of the FA Cup. According to some he never put anything into the club but in your own admissions you have stated he has. He has lost millions, his own fault yes, as all other football chairmen, however if you look back at my point how many will return, I put it a very small percentage.
It's the England international that won us League 1 with a record number of points, got is to 9th in the Championship after the previous lot ran out of cash and got is to an FA Cup quarter final. I think you'll find Roland stuck his oar into footballing affairs again for the quarter final itself, hence it went pear-shaped
If you want to give him credit for doing the business equivalent of keeping up the minimum repayments on a credit card then that's up to you.
Obviously everyone's entitled to their own opinion and you're therefore perfectly entitled to slate Chris Powell and send a thank you card to Roland. In my opinion, you need your head examining.

Lol you mug. Have you even got eyes?
What could Powell have done better at Bramell lane? Hed had the rug completely pulled from under him, his best players sold, was being pressured from above to play the network imports, the players knew what was going on, he knew it was all over and he had been told he was getting sacked if he didn't play the likes of Thuram and Koc.
I'd say he did as well as anyone could have in the circumstances.
Anyway WIwLB, we need to move on. We all love Charlton so let's all pull in the same direction. You want the club to grow again and it won't be so easily achieved by trying to bring up all the old issues again and again.

All,about opinions, no one is defending anyone, merely stating support the club and team, bad ownership will soon become apparent. If things are out of your control no point cutting your nose off spite your face. But imo, no flex and narrow minded.
Hey ho, that’s what makes forum’s what they are.
Blinkered is exactly the word that I had in mind. I really haven't enjoyed my boycott, especially as my son had finally twigged that he should be a Charlton supporter instead of a Barcelona supporter. Fortunately he still considers himself a Charlton fan and, despite being only 15 now, he understands why we are not attending.

Or you could look at Blackpool. Different fan bases have different opinions and circumstances.
I get the view that you watch your team no matter what - but when there are bad owners ruining clubs (not just us) not everyone feels that way. They think it's more important to do whatever they can that might help move their owner closer to selling.
Having different opinions isn't a bad thing. If everyone just got behind the team he may have stayed on and continued doing things his way. Without pressure from the fan base it's likely it would have taken longer for him to appoint more suitable managers and stop sacking them every few months.
And yet if everyone boycotted the budget would likely have been lower and we'd have a weaker squad.
Everyone needs do what they feel is right for them. Having a different opinion on attending/boycotting/protesting doesn't make someone any more or less of a fan - for some being a fan isn't only about supporting the team on the pitch.
Despite some saying they don't want the boycotters back, if things move in the right direction I think the majority will prefer seeing bigger crowds and a better atmosphere.
Hopefully we can soon move on from RD, can start rebuilding the club and repairing the split fan base.

An Australian consortium will not share the same feelings as you do for Charlton Athletic.
However, there are probably few football club owners in the world, that have the same feelings for the club as the fans.
If that's the football fan's measurement, then few would buy a S/T anywhere.
In all honesty the scum being above us is the big issue for me but Roland has guaranteed that with his wank ownership
What’s their motivation?
5 more year just like the last?
If WhenIwasLittleBoy or anyone else wants to start up all the disagreements of the past 5 years, then all they are doing is continuing the hurt and fractured fan base.
We ALL want Charlton to grow again and as a starting point I'd like our attendances to exceed Millwall's.
If we are going to rise again, then no good can come of rehashing the same old discussions/disagreements.
I know I'm a fine one to talk, but let's not get suckered into it.
Accept we have different points of view, but recognise that for the good of the club we love, we need to take a deep breath and start afresh.

How could it possibly be? It's possible that some of the consortium hadn't even heard of Charlton a few years ago.
But imo, no flex and narrow minded.
Hey ho, that’s what makes forum’s what they are.
Fan doesn’t mean suck up any old nonsense that an owner hands out, as most Charlton supporters recognise, on here and in poll after poll.
You choose to believe it’s an ordinary situation because it suits you but you are in a tiny minority, as the reaction you get here shows.
We all love Charlton so let's all pull in the same direction.
You want the club to grow again and it won't be so easily achieved by trying to bring up all the old issues again and again.
I really haven't enjoyed my boycott, especially as my son had finally twigged that he should be a Charlton supporter instead of a Barcelona supporter.
Fortunately he still considers himself a Charlton fan and, despite being only 15 now, he understands why we are not attending.
I get the view that you watch your team no matter what - but when there are bad owners ruining clubs (not just us) not everyone feels that way. They think it's more important to do whatever they can that might help move their owner closer to selling.
