  • Just you negative Nancys wait till the summer transfer window, we'll come good.

One or two marquee signings and we will be fine.....we will take league 2 at a stroll

  • The club has no more heart. Oh and Robinson - you talk too much :I
  • Sounds like the January transfer budget was blown on bacon rolls.

Well to be fair, I don't mind that.
    Brown sauce though.

Would just love to hear the views of those who still defend the morons running this club.

I don't think if i could handle listening to anyone defending them anymore without screaming

Apologies to anyone i might upset.
But if you think that we have any chance of ever getting promotion under these cnuts you need to see a doctor fucking quick

Must say Steve if we don't get 3 points Saturday don't think we will make top 6
No wonder you two bottle jobs would not have that bet with me over Christmas!!
  • We had better get to 50 points before we even consider the play offs.

We always see comments like this shortly after the final whistle of every match we lose (or draw).

    Odd.
I literally jumped onto my phone and saw post match thread, want to jump on my back to while you are at it??

  • Interestingly I think the worm has turned on the other forum.

Was only a matter of time.

KR was never getting all the signings he needed, even with the Lookman money coming in.

He wants to play an attacking passing game with a 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 - for that to work you need the right players. We don't have a proper number 10/playmaker and we don't have enough goals in the team.

RD will eventually run out of patience and sack KR.

All so predictable. Nothing at all to suggest it'll be any different after another transfer window.

It is a problem that clubs at any level can face, It is about numbers. Now not every player is going to be a goal scorer, but you need goals in the team - when you don't have prolific strikers the goals have to come from elsewhere. So first thing - Tex or Konsa - Konsa is a great prospect but not yet a goalscorer - we know Tex knows where the goal is - as we don't have the goals elsewhere that is an opportunity to increase your likliehood to score a fraction. You have to do that throughout the team. Holmes has scored a reasonable amount of goals in relation to his position and starts - so if you don't have the goals elsewhere you have to start him.

Of course what you are doing is increasing your percentages - but you need enough players to inject goals into the side. We are short of them so Tex and Holmes have to be the first names on the teamsheet and neither started! To be honest - goals cost money and lots of clubs at this level have a similar issue - But we are one of them which is depressing.

I think Robinson is an attacking manager and call on him to be a bit ruthless - it might mean dropping players who in one sense don't deserve to be dropped, but if they don't score the goals or create the chances - statistics matter - then you need to find players that can. That isn't to say they won't in the future but goals are needed.

England had the same issue in the Euros - level is irrelevant as it is all relative. Hodgson found a solution by overloading the team with strikers for the second half against Wales. An act of desperation, yes, but a necessity. Unfortuantely he then decides to play his best team, but if your best team don't have goals it isn't your best team!

Whilst we were not inspiring the match stats back this up. We had 57% possession - 11 shots (5 on target) to their 4 (3 on target). We had 16 corners to their 4. These are stats that warrant a 2-0 or 2-1 victory.

Listened on 94.9 radio. (Can't remember the last time Charlton were live on the radio & won).

Magennis through on goal but doesn't score in the first minute. Oldham put their chance away. Charlton not so great first half. Commentator midway said Charlton were not able to keep hold of the ball or retain possession & would be advised to stand firm at the back, & make sure they don"t concede & get o half time, so they can reorganise. Against Oldham ffs.

Second half a lot better, but failed to score, some good saves, sounded like a clear penalty turned down but Oldham sounded more likely to score at the end. Another disappointing result. Unsurprising given the shambolic way the club is run & the team is constantly reshaped & thrown together, as others have mentioned above. Play offs looking a long way off.
  • Highlight was the topless Oldham teen (male, calm down guys) bouncing around for 90mins with his phone light on.

His mum will be furious when he comes down with a cold tomorrow.

The palace style enormous ultra flags look hilarious in an empty stadium too.
  • He's got to play Watt and Magennis together at Rochdale.
