I'm not sure why the groundsmen is anywhere near our manager to be honest but, as I said elsewhere, I expect our manager to acquit himself professionally as the most senior employee of the club.
Not defending Robinson but was it really necessary for him to be on the pitch, why not stand in the technical area instead.
He has a right to be able to walk off the pitch without being abused by anyone on it, whether players, officials or staff. That said, he should also not react as he did but without knowing how abusive the comment which caused him to tee off, it's hard to tell. I am pleased that AFC Wimbledon have acted quickly re their employee. Down to Charlton to look into the conduct of theirs.
From what I saw it did not look like a punch it just looked like he was trying to get to the man. Having said that I'm quite happy for a manager to actually have a bit of spunk about him for once - four years we have been a soft touch and a bunch of pussies and I'm quite happy that we are mixing it.
Knowing nothing of the real happenings I will speculate. Wimbledon's commentators were mentioning forthcoming events for the volunteers. i took it to mean the volunteers who work for the club in some way or another, given their history I imagine fan involvement is high at Wimbledon. maybe the member of groundstaff in question is a Wimbledon fan. Then add in the banner that Wimbledon fans were parading mentioning that Robinson is a c***. Then add in the MKD thing, and the dramatic end of the game. Ingredients for a perfect storm if I'm right.
It would benefit Karl if he spent some serious time considering how he deals with some of the pressures of the game, and I include match officials in that. I am not suggesting he becomes any less passionate, but develops techniques to use that passion better.
Incredibly well said. I've not heard his post match comments from today yet* but his bleating on about officials on Thursday I think it was (the one that was aired on Charlton Live on Thursday) is entirely unnecessary. I've been generally pleased with him, the results, the football, and I think he gets too much stick at time because he's talkative. I think he's genuinely excited to be at the club, and I like that. I also like that he met with fan represenatives for three hours, and said things that may not have been popular but he spoke his truth. But the blaming officials shtick is lazy and entirely transparent. And this, whatever was said, you need to compose yourself. You're at work, your place of employment after all.
In the video you can see Ezri Konsa (18), Tony Watt (23), Jordan Botaka (23), and Patrick Bauer (24). Plus Aribo (20), KAG (19), Phillips (21) in the squad (all off the top of my head, sorry if ages are wrong/I missed anybody). You need to set a better example for them.
*Just read some of his post match comments. This one stood out: "I’m not a football manager when you cross that line."
You are though Karl. You don't get to pick and choose when you're the manager and when you're not.
Left on the final whistle and miss the most talked about incident of the game.
Don't really care if he's passionate, gobby, right or wrong.
Just win games.
Agree with this.
We all know that managers at end of games are wound up with adrenalin running, just watch some of the Match of The Day interviews. Just after we have conceded a late equaliser, end of the game it's easy to understand an over reaction by Robinson.
Some people on here are dying to see him fail and nit pick everything he does. The only thing that counts for us is that he gets it right on the pitch. The jury is still out on that but being gobby, reacting at being abused as he leaves the pitch, being a scouser, working for the regime who gives a toss, you can always have Karel back. At least Robinson is trying to make a fist of things.
I don't know what was said. But if some of you were called "cun#s", and that they had "#*cked your wife/girlfriend/significant other", by one of the opposition supporters, you would think nothing of Twatting them. And expect to get kudos for it.
The response from Ardley is telling. He thought it was out of order...

You called it right Kap.Win or lose some on here just cant wait to have a pop at KR .Give th bloke a break FFS.We should have won - we didn't so move on.He got verbally abused by a member of their staff and he reacted and good for him.Even their manager admitted they will need to look into it.Some of you seem to thrive on any opportunity to to have a pop at KR or the club.If you really feel that hatred -go and support Welling
Groundsman is a reflection of the scummy fans that AFC attract.
You let your club die, get over it.
I really don't get this view of AFCW.
Far from letting it die, they rebuilt it from the ashes.
It has just relieved us of five points. Not bad, for a corpse.
And roughly 70% of their crowd today, own the thing. As the owners, they, alone among all London clubs, gave public support in court for the Olympic Stadium Coalition contention that West Ham receive unfair State aid through their rental contract.
Afc Wimbledon have no choice but to sack the groundsman. His behaviour was disgusting. He shouldn't have been on the pitch until the players and officials left the field of play
He was personally told by a couple of us, at the final whistle, that the performance today was not to the standards we expect as Charlton fans.
Couldn't tell what happened at the end. Right or wrong another headline that does include him winning matches.
Yep we have high standards at Charlton.Been supporting us for 50 yrsnow admire you for telling KR about our high standards..Hope you did the same in73 and 2011 and many other great seasons

I've stuck up for him on here in the past but no more.
When the Belgium pricks leave they can take him with them
