So Dutch is the most common language in Sint Truiden? Need to know for the banners i'm doing tonight. Also anyone good with Dutch?
I wouldn't make any banners in a language that you aren't familiar with unless the wording is checked by someone that is - Google translate wont help you avoid a "Ich bin ein Berliner" moment !
10 day weather forecast now slipped in this morning for next Saturday, and shows a very small chance of rain - highs of 55 and lows of 42 - sounds like perfect protesting weather...
Herge was a complicated character to understand in the context of today and definitely a man of his time - but Tintin was a great creation and Asterix and Tintin were my treats as a child. I'll defend him to the hilt!
Just 9 sleeps now before the Unity faithful make their way across /under La Manche & onwards to Duchateletville.
The response to the call to take up arms, or rather, banners has been magnificent, no thanks to the disgraceful & sometimes vicious slurs lobbed our way from the short sighted pro regimers.
But that will only serve to make us and our protests stronger and louder.
On Saturday, we welcome Bury to The Valley for a "Football for a fiver" match. Whether this "bargain" will entice more than usual fans to view what has sadly become a season in its death throes, remains to be seen. I doubt that our eardrums will suffer from the cacophony of noise over the 90+ minutes.....
What Saturday WILL provide us with is possibly the last opportunity to encourage our fellow sufferers to join us on the 4th March, especially those non users of social media. What we do NOT wish to hear after the event is fans moaning that they wished they had known about the foray into RD territory.
So, please try to take every opportunity to spread the word so that it reaches the parts other protest material hasn't reached. I would urge those that show an interest to contact CARD as soon as possible as it may be difficult to arrange for more places to be made available after the beginning of next week but please don't quote me on that one. Like Manuel, I know nothing...
This is our big chance to show Roland that we mean business, alongside STTV fans who are only too aware of his shortcomings & dismissal of the football itself. By talking & mingling with these guys and gals, we shall be effectively pooling our resources & ideas as to how we all might win our battles against this tyrant. Knowledge is power.
Let's all gird our loins - use our time in SE7 on Saturday to do our best to swell our number. Please explain to those who listen that , contrary to rumours, this is NO jolly. This is a serious crusade ( "a vigorous campaign for social change") and hopefully, a pivotal element in the fight to regain OUR club & hence begin the climb back to not only footballing success but also to supporting a club that others respect.
' ROLAND OUT ' merchandise is still available , zip up hoodies available in all sizes including kids. Also pin badges but hats have sold out. We also have a limited number of protest shirts still available. To order visit www.coveredendchoir.co.uk. Orders will be dispatched same day if ordered before 2pm. Two of us on the Ebbsfleet coach staying at ' The Yup ' Hassalt.
As mentioned on Billy thread, Billy the Barmy Army Trumpeter sent a message yesterday saying he wont be able to make next Saturday, but wishes us the best in 'getting that lot out'.
Further support from STVV fans on their Forum today...
"Why do I join the march with the people of Charlton and GRAS?
The pre RD era:
-bad football -Poor Turf (typically STVV) -A Good team on the field with the (few) budget that was available, despite little quality still much dedication and effort so it was a competitive team. -A Ramshackle but very atmospheric stadium where each jumper to could identify with. -Usually Players from the region, foreigners were an absolute value. As relatively low prices because the weekly was well filled.
The era RD:
-bad football -No More turf -No Good team despite the potentially large budget, just quality but little devotion and dedication so there will never be a competitive team on the artificial turf. -A Modern events venue which has little to do with football with the seats very far away from the field. (Practical) No jumper to which can be found in here. -usually Players from strange places, cheap foreigners are commonplace. Players with real added value after a (half) year away. -Duurdere Prices because fewer people show up. To the stadium to give a full view many free cards are distributed most of which do not show up again.
One vd last straw which we can grab to reclaim the soul of our club. Now we will quietly die without a soul, and we could die 10 years ago with soul.
More from STVV.. (not sure about the phew, phew, Badger bit - but i'm sure you get the gist.)....
"A little empathy and goodwill RD, a little bit, instead of the cool refrigerator ... Then there is no problem, no nagging, and no nagging ... That can be really not an insurmountable problem ...
THE question that continues to occupy me: what inspires the man still on his 70th? It is yet to run against the wall with your head, let's be honest ... How can you now so exist? Phew phew phew, badger really about as a club owner, come say !!! "

Doffs cap.
I'd quite like something that says
'Our club, not yours'

Onwards & upwards via St Truiden !
Forecast looks good
Il nous faut de l'audace, encore de l'audace et toujours de l'audace !!
(Good enough for Gen Patton ....)

Real pity.
There's no deadline mate - however, if you want coach/hotel/buffet then you might want to get your skates on.
