I've not seen anything to indicate he's better than Mannion. Neither of them are brilliant with the ball but Mannion is better. What we are really seeing is that all goalkeepers look a fair sight better when the defence in front of them is organised. When you keep them at arm's length and limit the opposition to a few saves that just need some decent shot-stopping skills then keeper is a less worrying role all round. AMB has always been an excellent shot-stopper, where he struggles is when he's required to do more than throw himself at shots; distribution, decision-making, commanding his box, communicating with the defence. Right now with Lloyd Jones running the backline he just has to stop the ball and he's been doing that well. I still hope we get a proper number 1 in during this window though as we need a keeper who elevates us rather than hides his failings behind a strong backline. Having said that, can't complain overall about what he's done since he came in to the side.
Wish our fans would stop booing him when he doesn’t play a speculative instantaneous pass the second he grasps the ball. He was excellent again today and still getting aggro from the fans

I think he’s commanded his box really well this season. Claims crosses and looks comfortable. Distribution isn’t perfect but isn’t the worst.

Agreed more pressing concerns with winning second balls in midfield and progressing play than a keeper not pinging a through ball
His command of the area has improved massively. Whether it’s watching Mannion or losing the number 1 spot and wanting it back, that aspect of his game has definitely got much better. Long may it continue.

I do think he's improved in that area, though I wonder how much of that is because an organised defence restricts the volume and types of crosses coming in and stops him from needing to make the hairier split-second decisions that used to catch him out. Not having to wear the mask likely helps as well

I think he definitely does benefit from having less to have to think about and organise as the natural instinctive parts of being a goalie were never the real problem, his shot stopping stopping ability etc was not the issue.
He looks much more comfortable and composed currently but I think Mannion would also look much better behind the current version of the defence so I don't see it proving either way which of the two is better overall.
AMB is definitely the better shot stopper between him and Mannion. I hope he continues to improve his management of his box and distribution. The defence seem comfortable and confident in him at the moment. We’re in a good run of form and not conceding many or softly so no reason he shouldn’t keep his starting place for the time being at least.
I have been saying this for months ( as a bit of a lone voice on CL) but I think he is a good keeper , better than Mannion and far better than Isted. I never understood why Jones played Isted instead of him - it cost us points last season The problem last year was the defenders in front of him who were generally awful. The thoroughly entertaining 4-4 draw at Port Vale last year summed it up Port Vale were allowed 28 !!! Shots on goal
Agree he's better than Manion, though it is close. I do think dropping him when Jones came in last year was the right call, his confidence was shot and his decision making was all over the place. Some time out of the firing line has been good for him and today he looked like he could still become the keeper I thought he was going to be when he first broke through. There was one moment he came out to collect and I was worried he was going to flap at it but that was clearly just flashbacks as he calmly gathered and carried on!

I think AMB went through a rough patch last season, which happens. Not having any breathing issues, or having to wear a mask helps a lot now, also.

This, He has bulked up, looks a bit stronger and is now claiming more crosses and looks more assured. Yesterday was the first game that I have been confident that he was going to take all the crosses. Well done AMB.
The whole defence has improved. Last year Lloyd was approaching donkey status, I wonder if he was carrying an injury? AMB has to intervene less because the back 4/5 are cutting down chances.

15/10 for that line, f****** brilliant.
