I was there on Saturday. I picketed the club shop. I asked people not to buy a shirt/spend money - I never demanded it or was abusive to anyone. I saw two pregnant ladies, neither of whom were bothered by the protesters and both entered the shop unhindered. I haven't renewed my two season tickets and I didn't go to the game. I don't intend to go to any more games until Roland and Katrien are gone.
After reading this thread and the many comments on various Facebook/Twitter accounts, I actually feel like I'll not bother coming back once they are gone as I'm protrayed as not a proper fan and not welcome anymore. I also feel like I won't be safe to come along and protest in the future due to some of the threats I've seen.
I'm a woman in my 40s, I did attend games with either my Mum or Dad, who are both retired and have supported the club for decades. I'm struggling to see how offensive/scary I could be perceived by other Charlton fans purely because I support CARD's aims. So, for now, I'm out!
Cyber warriors are out in force. In terms of how many pregnant were threatened read back and you will see there was one and that's one to many regardless if the lady is pregnant. Men going in with their children and grandchildren. No doubt if one had fronted any of the pathetic excuses of men outside the shop they would have run a mile
A lot of those picketing were women and children. Were you there?
No but my mate walked past them and was told not to buy anything. A picket line is also if you are part of a union or socialist group against an employer. So what are you an employee or a socialist in which then is boardering on left wing anarchy in which one of the voices of CARD has left wing views therefore for that person to bring their own political agenda as a protest is even worse.
Did you renew your season ticket?
Damm right I did me and my sons. 38 years season ticket holder

what a sad post. Wilma, i think it's only a couple of people on here who want to be confrontational with pickets/protesters so i wouldn't be overly concerned. You are very welcome to join me and my son if you would like to continue protesting.
I didn't say I didn't want people to protest, I do, I just want people to be mindful of others, whether people want to believe it or not there are a handful of protesting supporters giving others grief just like there are a handful of sympathisers given CARD volunteers grief for just handing out flyers. Neither is on, NOONE should feel uncomfortable at Charlton except the regime.
CARD is like the Labour Party losing support at a rapid pace. Social media sites prove that. Genuine fans want to go and support their team and not have games held up and listen to chants that have nothing to do with supporting the team.
If you don't wish to attend games due to the fact that you don't agree with the club is being run that's your decision, however if fans want to kick against CARD and they will begin to don't be surprised.

CARD activists are "genuine fans". it's laughable to imply otherwise.
As well as there are fans that don't wish to be associated with CARD and would rather support the team rather than listen to the anti songs. By stating that you are getting behind the team by singing these songs that have no relevance to the team or players in terms of encouraging then I think you really need to think about what you are saying. That must be inspiring for the players to have empty sits and the fact that CARD are proud of boycotting in which doesn't really effect the owner but possibly the players more so. Compound that with fans bet on our team to be relegated as well as go down bottom are you genuinely telling me they are true fans ?
Where have I said this? Where has CARD?
It doesn't help the team to taunt opposition fans with the Addams Family song or the Jeremy Kyle song, although at least the latter isn't pointlessly offensive to families with children, etc, but it would be crazy to suggest they impact negatively on the team.
CARD has never urged people to boycott matches either, whatever may have gone on in your imagination. But the people who volunteer for CARD on matchdays because they care about the club and can see it is being destroyed are every bit as good supporters as you will ever be.
So just to clarify as you have stated "what goes on in my imagination" CARD have never urged people to boycott matches???
Can you confirm this?
You also state that the CARD volunteers are every bit as good supporters as I will ever be.
I take it you know me and how long I have been following the club?
If not then how can you judge?
I don't need to know you, although it's funny that you presume to know my political views even though you don't beyond my allegiance to a major political party. I do know the volunteers and see their passion and commitment. You choose to deny that, even though you don't know what you are talking about. So I am confident in my assertion that your support is not better than theirs, although I leave open the possibility that it matches it.
CARD has never called for people to stay away from matches.
So you are saying that CARD volunteers are more passionate about the club than most fans? Interesting view
Airman clearly said matches, you're not even twisting his words, you're just making them up.
In fact, you're the only person I see using phrases like 'genuine' and 'true' fans. You may not agree with what people are doing but surely you see they are doing it for what they see as the right reasons.

Better the devil you know. With the money that is being asked for the club if it was sold would probably only end up in the hands of an Asian businessman. Thinks ain't all that blinding at Cardiff and Blackburn, money is not being put into the club, so yes get rid of him, but be careful what you wish because you could be case of jumping from the frying pan into the fire and it wouldn't have been the first time it has happened down Charlton.
I really really object to the all piss and wind analogy, CARD and alternate anti regime groups showed on more than one occasion last season that they are more than that.
They asked people to withhold from buying season tickets and yet acknowledged that some were well within thier rights to continue watching the team we all love.
They after consideration felt it best to withhold in stadium protests for the first month of the season to give the team chance to get up and running.
Anti Roland songs are not the work of CARD but the feelings of a wider fan base, in the same way that anti Millwall songs are not just down to oohahmortimer!
I am really bored with the continual 'my mate heard someone was abused, I wasnt there but if I had of been and they had abused me then the cowards would have run a mile' bollocks.
I can't believe that anyone is not deeply concerned about the current ownership, the real bad guys here with an absentee owner and a chief exec not fit for purpose, on record as not giving a toss' about our club and continually mocking it's support base.
But now you are claiming that you don't understand why people are protesting, or at least aren't happy about them doing so?
I'm very confused.
Look at the dates. It was when Fraye was in charge who should not have got the appointment. If you read my points clearly and precisely you will see that now is the time to get behind the team and not do what the likes of Blackpool have done.
If CARD spent as much time getting behind the team we will win promotion. Is the club more attractive to a buyer in the Championship rather than League 1.
I draw a line when a member of CARD called me a and my boy a scab and then secondly when one decides to call me a tosser on social media until he got a tug.
There is a right and wrong and the club have acknowledged mistakes have been made and addressed them this season accordingly. I would ask if anyone on here that has not made a mistake in the work or person. It's how you deal with it.
Yes there is arrogance from the CEO however there are two things and this point I am not defending her. The culture in which they come from is completely different to how the working class man sees football in England. Secondly her translation maybe somewhat to be desired and is not such a bad thing she no longer does any press conferences.
For the record I support the club and my support is 100% behind Slade and the chaps this season. No one enjoys relegation, defeats and lows but at the end this is why we love the game.
Man City and Leicester were on their arses 10 years ago now look at them. I remember going to Stamford Bridge in the early 80s when they only got 7,000 for a home game.
Football is like a tide our time goes out and will come back in again. Support the team and enjoy Saturday's rather than making it a toxic atmosphere which ain't nice especially when taking your kids to a game.
Ask yourself what would motivate you as a player and what our fans is this going to drive them forward
Some were within their rights what bullocks is that
Yep fair one that was a shite turn of phrase, I was trying to say that it was entirely a matter of opinion whether people renewed, didn't attended match by match or boycotted.
As for if CARD energy enabling promotion, I would suggest the incredible record of poor signings, change of manager/coaches/interims and medical care would have outweighed any efforts the fan base put in, for that we need to blame the SMT or whatever she calls herself at the moment
But now you are claiming that you don't understand why people are protesting, or at least aren't happy about them doing so?

Can I ask the question again What percentage of supporters does CARD Represent? I'd say on this forum 80-20 away from here 50-50.
Forum 90 -10 Away from here 35-65
I don't agree with these numbers but I do agree that there is a lot of people who have an issue with CARD and that view isn't encourage or indeed even contemplated on this forum. Which I think is detrimental to CARD they need to listen to all views even if they strongly disagree.
I personally don't agree with everything CARD do but I will say this these guys/gals are genuinely one of the best movements against bad ownership that football have ever seen.
If fans aren't happy with what CARD are doing it is simple, DO YOUR OWN PROTEST!
I have been given that advice by many when I raise concerns about CARD, but then I was involved in the protests before CARD was formed, and I still work on protests that are separate to CARD, And I feel that gives me the right to criticise.
I believe you have the right to raise concern here and to be honest I think it is great for this forum, regardless if 99% myself included disagree with you it is still a breath of fresh air and gets people thinking, and we need to have that.
How far we have come from Woolwich and @Addickted2TheReds standing outside the shop handing out 2% flyers and interviewing where I first met him lol
Look at that we have done and achieved everyone, seriously if you care about Charlton Athletic FC take a step back and consider that point! And to all those who got us here take a fucking bow!
We have a lot still todo but we will get these people out of our club and we will do it together.

Nice one mate. The sort of sensible response you should get on a forum as it is all about opinions and I respect yours, what I don't respect is when sadly others will ridicule if you don't agree with them or raise an objection. Once again fair play mate

Have a day off. I said careful what you wish for and the only people that can afford clubs at the moment are from the far east. Man City are owned from the middle east and was highlighting where they were 10 years ago. Leicester were picked up only 18 months ago by the new owners and Madric had got things going by then.

I picketed the club shop.
I asked people not to buy a shirt/spend money - I never demanded it or was abusive to anyone.
I saw two pregnant ladies, neither of whom were bothered by the protesters and both entered the shop unhindered.

Here you made up a song about running the "Belgian liars" out http://forum.charltonlife.com/discussion/comment/2346161/#Comment_2346161
it goes on and on and on....
But now you are claiming that you don't understand why people are protesting, or at least aren't happy about them doing so?
I'm very confused.
They are the true enemy here not each other
If CARD spent as much time getting behind the team we will win promotion.
But all this is getting us nowhere. Some people genuinely believe everything is alright and there is no need for protests or disquiet of any kind.
I'm not entirely surprised. It just means we, collectively, end up getting everything we, collectively, deserve.
Sad.
As for if CARD energy enabling promotion, I would suggest the incredible record of poor signings, change of manager/coaches/interims and medical care would have outweighed any efforts the fan base put in, for that we need to blame the SMT or whatever she calls herself at the moment
As for the Man City owners they were the ones who were set to buy Charlton.
In terms of Leicester the knocked Mowlem for their new stadium and was Milan Madric who got them promoted.
Once again fair play mate
I know the fella and you could not be further from the truth, you have probably spoke to him.
Man City are owned from the middle east and was highlighting where they were 10 years ago.
Leicester were picked up only 18 months ago by the new owners and Madric had got things going by then.
Read chapter and verse and not what you want to see.
CARD can get CAFC promoted no more than I can.
