Very impressive man , when asked he said everything will go through him and we manage the club upwards ....
Plus as I said already been working on transfers before he went away most likey during and yesterday already spoke to agents , players and clubs

    Very positive ......

Do any of your posts ever contain correct spelling and grammar ?
Not only is the content always shit, you need TO LEARN TO FUCKING SPELL.
Maybe he really is a Spanner!
  • "We’ve got our shortlist and we’re looking at certain areas of the pitch where we feel we need to improve and need a bit more experience”

Going by last season, that'll be pretty much every area of the pitch then.
  • Apostrophe police will be all over him in a minute....

It's not an apostrophe. If you zoom in, you can clearly see that it is a fly that has happened to land between the T and the S.

  • 'Hey hey Roland, ooh ahh, we want to you to go oh oh, 'cos you're such a cunt' (note I tried here but failed to clean it up)

I'm not denying being a c**t but i'm not going i'm in this for the long run neil , sorry

Murray: "I was disappointed with the treatment I got last year, considering what I've tried to do for this club." #CAFC

You still here murray ? your just white noise now , you've had your time , bye now .

Did Slade work on this short list?

After last season I want to know why its only a short list

I bet you read your response 100 times to make sure you had the grammar and spelling correct!
    At least !

Slade said no player will be sold on the cheap and he hopes the players he wants to stay will stay and fight to get the club back ..... Already apoken to one or two players but will see the others when pre season starts and looking forward to trip to Austria

We know what was said Colin, but on what basis can we, or even he, believe what he's actually saying.
Here is a novel idea........perhaps we should give Mr Slade a chance before judging him - you never know, he could be a real success for Charlton - alternatively he could be a disaster - however at this point in time he hasn't even been in the job for a week, not played a pre-season friendly and the league season hasn't started

    Just saying :-)

I think Slade has not been criticised much at all- the CARD statement was supportive of him and wished him well!

    just saying :-)
  • Not convinced at all.
He did not answer the question about control over transfers.
Made no mention of winning back fans.
Made no recognition of errors over last two years.
Shame at the moment I feel he is KM and Rads puppet.
Nothing will convince me until KM goes.
The phrase the club that hates it's fans is apt and should become widely used.
  • Just watched Slade's first interview on the Charlton YouTube page - something very unsettling about him and his answers!
Almost jumps down the interviewers throat with answers so vague it could apply anywhere, then when asked whether he's met Roland he is so quick to answer!
    .... Weird

I wasn't talking about the CARD statement - I'm talking about the numerous comments on here which pre-judge the poor bloke and what will happen - if it turns out he isn't the right man and he screws it up, then fill yer boots

What's the saying about team and regime .......

If you don't believe he met Roland, ask him what shoe the tape was on?
  • Slade said the right things, but wouldn't expect him to say much different.

KM also said mostly what you'd expect but her reputation is so damaged no one really places much stock in what she says anymore.

Actions still speak louder than words.

Appointing Head and now Slade are good actions and positive steps forwards. However, the latest revelations made up stuff re Varney's bid and RM's woe is me, why don't the fans still like me comment means, as usual, it's, at best, two steps forward one step back.
  • P.S. it's far too early to start giving Slade derogatory nicknames, but Brussels is a belter to have stashed away in the back pocket for later use if needed.

So.........3 weeks ago a manager walked away from talks with us because he wasn't given assurances in writing that he'd have full control over signings. Then we get a manager who says he has a verbal agreement. RD must be laughing his bollocks off at the stupidity of Slade here. I'll be amazed if this ends well.

Typical of the rubbish on here. Sheffield United were his club..nothing whatever to do with assurances. You just spout out whatever suits your prejudices.

The danger of a crusade is that it takes on its own life and it's objective becomes the sole drive rather than what kicked it off in the first place. I have always wanted this lot to sell but it has been clear for a long while that they will not. Talk of "having them on the run" etc is just wishful delusion, but still seems to be the only aim of some of the contributors here.

And what is "Our Charlton" I have supported the club for 70 years and I have witnessed numerous versions of Charlton. If you are referring to the character and essence that makes it a bit different from other clubs, then that will remain no matter who owns it even if it has to resurface from time to time.

For the moment shut up, or at least hold judgement for a while, rather than invite failure by hoping or at least half hoping for it.

Well our character and essence are certainly different from other clubs these days.
  • Septh and Airman just been interviewed on ITV London News.

    Spot on Mr. Kinsella!

Every single word that comes out of any meeting or press conference is dissected and spun by some on here to use to their advantage!

    yes by you and Colin.

Don't you see that while others "spin" it one way, you "spin" it the other.

Meanwhile you salute one Charlton fan to tell others to "shut up".
  • Spot on kinsella - I like the way it has become a fact that wilder didn't sign due to no written clause - things like that kind of reduce the credibility of the whole protest thing - how on earth would anybody know that, it's just s guess like most other assumptions spouted on here, however well intentioned
  • @Essex_Al mate. Have you seen the new statement about Varney to come from Katrien. Doesn't affect the manager as such, but suggests anything the regime say about changing should be taken with several packets of salt.
Early days, but I don't see me eating the humble pie in december
  • Just seen it on sky sports news. Am sorry but this appointment does not fill me with joy but anger. You can tell he's going to be a puppet a yes man. I will only feel happy towards charlton when they sell up and go. I was really looking forward to the season with lots of local games Swindon Bristol Oxford but part of me feels really deflated at the moment.
