Charlton, like Rome, wasn't built in a day but it didn't take a huge amount of time to fuck it up. The current owners aren't going anywhere in the immediate and the prolonged protests and name calling will only serve to further damage our reputation.
We wanted an English manager - we have one. A good one at that for the level we are at. we wanted more communication - we've got some now. We want english players who can get us out of the hole we are in - we are supposedly looking at several. We want to keep the core of the team together - they say we hope to be doing so. Have to take it on merit at the moment.
Green shoots guys...green shoots.
We have to support the team. If protests are to continue we need to do it properly. Not with flares and petty name calling or aggression and racism. That just makes us look childish and will definitely deter players from joining us.
Slade said no player will be sold on the cheap and he hopes the players he wants to stay will stay and fight to get the club back ..... Already apoken to one or two players but will see the others when pre season starts and looking forward to trip to Austria
Not actually getting at anyone here, but that, obviously, excludes people who may be let go for nothing....
All the players left are on contracts ....
Michael Morrison was under contract, didn't stop them letting him go for nothing
How many of you wallies actually believe that all of the other 91 league managers have it written into their contracts that they have sole control over transfers and the like!
You are a clown
Actually you need to look in the mirror to see who the clown is if you actually believe this dribble!
Why, please don't say it got involved in any unacceptable language or remarks when your back was turned. To avoid any future incidents, don't take it with you again. ( have put the two used here in my comment under lock and key to avoid any possible trouble). Seriously, well done in keeping the protest in the news by actually doing something.

Well if they're prepared to make the same commitment verbally, what's the issue?
Because when Slade announced he had a verbal agreement with RD at the press conference, quite a number on here took a sharp intake of breath, did a little wee in their pants and told everyone he was a complete buffoon for not having it written into his contract!
Contract law is not my strong point but has RS played a blinder by dropping that into the conference I wonder?
Realistically no manager is going to get firm written assurances over transfers as no manager will have complete control...otherwise he says tomorrow "I want Ronaldo'. RD says, "out of our budget" and Slade sues for breach of contract.
However by saying he has a verbal agreement (contract) and KM not correcting that, she has surely given implicit agreement making it easier for him to sue for breach of verbal contract down the line (not that he ever will but gives him bargaining chips when he is fired in 4.5 months time).
That's what I thought. You've got video recorded evidence and (I'm no expert either) but work related verbal agreements still carry some weight....even if the regime have no intention of following up on it.
But even yesterday we got to work on some targets. There were a few on there I said no I’m not interested in that one, I don’t think that one will improve us - I know the league quite well.
Hope your ready to welcome those players to the Valley and not the ones you want!!
Its not going to be as black and white as having it in your contract or not. Any manager worth a rub that is going to join a club with a recent managerial history like ours, would take on board the comments from previous managers and insist that something is written in their contract along the lines of they have control over player recruitment but any fees have to agreed by the owner/CEO.
Slade is mental to think a verbal agreement means anything to this mob.
Slade is an experaniced manager who knows football ..... He as full control as much as a manager can have in today football , he would not have taken the job of he did not , he says everything goes through me ........we manage upwards
Where do you get this shite from?
Colin - not quite what he said according to Warrington

Open discussions with Meire means her talking and not listening!
Duchatelet was again absent, but Meire promised a 'new era' at the club. 'Since the end of last season we were in discussion with several candidates and it became clear Russell was the best man for the job,' said the 31-year-old, who also said she did not fear for her position after relegation
Best man for the job ? ha ha ha how many more times will we hear that one rolled out .......& if that is the case then why were we about to announce Wilder as our manager/head coach until he saw right through them & their lies ?

So.........3 weeks ago a manager walked away from talks with us because he wasn't given assurances in writing that he'd have full control over signings. Then we get a manager who says he has a verbal agreement. RD must be laughing his bollocks off at the stupidity of Slade here. I'll be amazed if this ends well.

If I was a manager, I would have done exactly what Slade has. Agreed verbally and let the world (maybe the world is stretching things a little!) know I had agreed it in front of the CEO in my first press conference!

And they'll all tell you the same thing: "we're a joke of a club, Katrien is a fruitcake, you must be bonkers to come here. ..... and surely you got Roland's assurances in writing, didn't you?"
Very impressive man , when asked he said everything will go through him and we manage the club upwards .... Plus as I said already been working on transfers before he went away most likey during and yesterday already spoke to agents , players and clubs
Very positive ......

Top Man Seth.
More of the same. Really laughable some of the quotes. Still some will fall for it because they WANT to believe.
As for Murray's comment: breathtaking.
Sorry Richard for not appreciating you destroying this club through your own hubris starting with the Dowie/Reed fiasco.
And presiding over almost freefall since.
Don't you get that the majority now see you as a pathetic failure who still hasn't dealt with his ego problems.
Get therapy you sad old man.
Can't get over the amount of bullshit that's been spouted there today, even by their standards.
