I would imagine that there are more of us by far, who didn't criticise those who went, than those who did. So I think that sharing anything pertinent could reasonably be expected.

I don't know about needy slagger offers Henry, I just think there are a lot of us in the same boat as you - weren't there for a good reason and would love to hear what went down. FWIW I'm a season ticket holder but only got to 3 games at the Valley this season due to ongoing health issues.

As I said I want to know too. And when I went to shirt sponsors evening I shared that. Got a few likes so people must have appreciated it too.
I just see the irony in "you're all morons for going but please tell me what the players said" even if those "needy slagger offers" don't.
Slag other fans off if you must, ask other fans for info if you want but don't expect to do the first and succeed with the second.

Who slagged them off and also asked for info? I haven't noticed anybody asking who was slagging people off.
I think it's a great event to have. I haven't been to one but always wanted to just haven't got round to arranging it with mates. Think next year I'll have to get around to it with it being Jacko's last year.
There seemed to be a general uncertainty amongst the people I spoke to around who would be owning the club next year, who would be the manager, and what playing staff would remain and who would go.
The players enjoyed interacting with the fans, some were a few minutes late because they had been out watching the premiership games in Greenwich. They seemed to be getting on well together.
I heard general support for Riga, the training regime he put in and how it was working.
The largest issue though is the uncertainty mentioned above. I hope this is resolved soon so that we can move on.
I spoke to TK briefly as mentioned earlier, I mentioned that I thought it was terrible how so many long term supporters were leaving maybe not to come back and that the current owners had burnt all bridges with the fans. He couldn't say much about that, he did ask how old my son is (6) and repeated the sad old trope that the clubs priority is my son.
I did ask how he thought my son would be attending if I was not and perhaps a wider view might be better.
Unfortunately before he was able to respond Katrien clicked her fingers and the staff were required to scuttle off out of the room with her.

Just to be clear, as you well know, the "morons" comment clearly refers to people having their photos taken with KM, not just those who turned up.
But hey, you carry on old son. It's quite funny watching you tie yourself up in all sorts of knots so often.
( fully expect another pious response followed by the "back to ignore mode" comment that you clearly can't stick to. )
I loved the old POTY pre premiership days when it was in a pub, no dinner just beers with the players - some cracking nights back then.
Times obviously change, it's a lot more organized(and well done) now, but those unguarded days where more my scene.
Well done to those who work very hard organizing.
Selhurst days before The Valley had a new portakabin we looked long and hard for appropriate venues. I think that we only did the pub one year from memory in Greenwich. Moved it to the Black Prince when Curbs and Gritty were in charge. Pleased that you liked the pub but I got the feeling that it was a bit too lively ud we were to keep the club and players on board.
Definitely did the Trafalgar in the nineties remember Johnny Rob having a great time.
Indeed and it was heaving that night. I thought and I think the consensus among the rest of CASC was that it wasn't sustainable in that format longer term but I enjoyed it. Always have apart from the build up for the organisation it is stressy knowing that you are responsible for such an important date in a lot of people's calendar. That's why I take my hat of to all those that give so much time and effort on behalf of all of us.
Had a little offline chat with a friend who was there, this was their take on things:
"Katrien made it all very much about her. Stand out dress, there with a big 'you won't break me' attitude. She was on a table with club stuff, Chris and Sue Parkes and a Community Trust representative. At all times other than a meal she had a trio of bodyguards communicating via earpieces forming a protective triangle around, each five yards apart from her.
However, in there approach to scanning the area it just looked like they were staring everyone out constantly. Created a ridiculous backdrop for such an event. Anytime someone looked like they were going to approach her, they would start moving in. Quite hilarious as they were just about to pounce on someone who only went to shake Chris Parkes hand.
One person did get to thank her for ruining the club, but there was just no opportunity whatsoever from anyone to get to her, and nor did it feel particularly appropriate at the time given the protective barrier. It was probably what she wanted as she manages to manipulate and control situations.
It was clear though that no one wanted her there and you could see when she was leaving flanked by her heavies that people chose to simply turn their backs to her and not give her the satisfaction.
As for the people having photos taken, from what I saw I think some people may be mistaking her having her photo taken with some staff, Steve Avery etc. I only saw one fan all night able to approach her, a little old man that wanted her to sign a shirt. That was the only time all evening i saw a fan approach her.
most people were there in support for the organisers, but in hindsight it was good that it went ahead as it does give the fans and players an opportunity to interact. It's just a shame she came to make the night selfishly about her."
Katrien Meire shows yet again how unsuited to the CEO role she is. Meire may be the star in her own little world but not in ours. It It is not about her, it has feck all to do with her. She is treated with derision not only because she is rubbish at her job, but that she completely misunderstands what it is to be a football supporter (as does Duchatelet); and why someone supports and has a deep link with the football club they support. She fails to understand the long history that binds someone to their team.
For Meire is about her role, status and position within an organisation. The club is bigger than her, that she is just a manager acting for the owner who is a custodian. It would have been better for her not to attend yesterday. Yesterday was about the players and supporters. Yet again she tries to make it all her own story.
Meire should be forced to read Charlie Bright's brilliant article every single day to remind herself of what its all about.
@HantsAddick, not sure if your post was a criticism of myself and/or others who decided to give last night a miss. If it wasn't, I apologise. If it was, I think it was a cheap shot. Ask the organisers, I have paid and attended many of these evenings, but, £37 to go to an event where as a vegetarian of 36 years to me, personally, is an insult.
*(edit) I mean as for the food, nothing else. Sorry.
I did not intend to criticize anyone in particular. I just find it hypocritical when posters accuse those who went of brown nosing the players, then ask what did they say? People can't have it all ways. I don't know who said what, and appreciate some missed due to cost, due to not having a vegetarian option, and just being away or similar. Have no problem with this, it's being judged for why I and others choose to go, then the same people being asked to "spill the beans". I went primarily to support my friends who oraganize it all, and to have a good time. Not to be a brown noser or a mole. Sorry if my attitude offends anyone, but feel offended myself at certain comments. No idea who made them, and can't be bothered to read back, not worth the effort.

I used the term brown nose. I haven't asked for what was said at the event. It's completely inconsequential in my opinion. I would like to apologise for my intemperate language though. If I offended anyone I'm sorry, after all we all want the same thing for Charlton. It's the drink that inflamed my language m'lud and I plead guilty.
Want this be constructive, I did'nt vote for player of the year, wanted to but did'nt see anyone to vote. Sit in the liberal until about 2.45, then go in the covered end. No one collecting votes at that time, don't blame them, nor would (:-

Fair enough. As I've said I did not remember who said what or who asked for quotes. I appreciate your apology, did not like the term at all, but it takes a big person to say sorry. Better say, I'm not saying you are big in size before someone else does.
Actually I stood outside the covered end collecting votes until 5 minutes before kick off on both games but you cannot see everyone. Jordan Cousins polled 41% of the votes so the winner was not in doubt.
