I know everyone is entitled to a life outside of work but not sure it's wise of Patrick Bauer to be posting pictures of himself on a night out at the O2 with his arms around a couple of young ladies on a day when the fans are so pissed off at a performance like that.
Get a grip ffs. He lost a football match and got sent off. I doubt he was chuffed at that but he does have a life to lead which I doubt includes sackcloth and ashes.
Yeah agree.
Damn him for having any plans outside of football... That may have been a pretty planned night out.
Not fully feeling the post match drama to be honest. Most expected us to get dicked. Had we kept 11 men we may have got a point and everyone would be saying solid return. Win today and we would have been up to about 13th.
Things are clearly strained at the mo. Starting with just a rookie up top supported by a player not fully match fit leads you to know it's going to be a negative approach and an uphill battle.
We've big games coming up. Keeping my pallet dry to see where we are post them, but not going to go overboard on today's result, disappointing another defeat is.
Wait till next Saturday evening and then go again with your thoughts. If we pick up 4 points against Preston and Brentford then things will calm down for a bit. No wins from the next 2 and the problems will esculate
Felt a bit ashamed today as i only live 10 miles from Reading and didnt go to the game, as knew it would be the usual non-performance....
Spoke to a few Reading fans in the evening who went to the match and they said we were dire and on this evidence we will go down...but they were prasing their own team either.
The ref today was the linesman who didnt give the Tottenham goal at Man Utd a few years ago in which Roy Carroll scooped it out of the goal despite it being 2 yards over the line...says it all.
Next two games are crucial but i can only see a draw against Preston and a defeat against Brentford....Luzon will get sacked after that.

I hope things pick up soon. V depressing at present - if we do badly in the next two fixtures we'll be deep in a relegation battle which we're ill equipped for.

Nope... Be much better if he were to go home, brood over the match, mulling oved it again and again... The moment the decision has happened what can he do about it? Nothing!! The best thing he can do is move on, forget about it and concentrate on the next match.
Hate this with fans these days who expect players to have no lives because they've made a mistake at work.
Read what I said for Christ sake. My first sentence starts with "I know everyone is entitled to a life outside of work...."
My point being that he will probably get a ton of stick for it, and therefore probably isn't the best idea.
Read what I said for Christ sake... It wasnt aimed at you... It was aimed at fans who give players stick for having a life outside of football when they lose.
Football is only a bloody game that was created for the world to enjoy... Sadly people like Sky and Sepp Blatter got hold of it and turned it from a Sport into a Business that can no longer just be enjoyed
Luzons on borrowed time, zero points from the next two games and he'll be out of the door, need to quickly arrest the slide.
But only if we bring in a English manager that knows this league!! Otherwise what's the point in getting rid of Luzon only for another network coach to come in??
If Guy does go then really hoping that RD has learnt his lesson that we need a manager with championship experience. Getting so bored of things under RD and don't really get what his ideas are for us. Lack of communication is terrible and sense things are not too good behind the scenes. Nothing less than 4 points from the next 2 games or we will be deep in trouble

I haven't slated him have I? Read my following post after that.
Twickenham was good yesterday - cracking but very expensive day out.
Also met someone fairly high up at the Football League and had an intresting drunk chat about Charlton 's TV game selection etc. Basically nobody watches us when we're on.

Exactly , it's that simple , to those outside the Charlton family we are just plain dull (well even to some in the Charlton family that's true )

Yeah not many people want to watch football at 11 am on a Sunday
A horrible away day-performances like that are not great to witness particularly when you've spent extra dosh and made extra effort and the negativity from our fans combined with the Crystal Palace junior act of their supporters just added to things.
We were set up to keep a clean sheet and, up until the red card, did that pretty well I thought and I didn't see them scoring against our 11 men. Unfortunately we then went into panic mode and the inevitable happened. The last 10 minutes were terrible-I went from hoping for one chance to hoping for just one more touch of the ball. If we were 3-0 down I could have understood the lack of energy but at 1-0, why weren't we showing a bit more urgency? Is it a fitness issue? Or did the players just not believe they could score? Either way, it's a real concern.
I fear for us a bit this week because, if big Makienok (sic?) doesn't get fit I struggle to see where the goals are going to come from. It was shown yesterday where, without the option of playing direct, we offered absolutely nothing as an attacking threat-Jackson and Cousins aren't the most creative pairing in midfield, JBG was disappointing (again) and McAleny is a trier but looks distinctly average on the left wing. KAG should be cutting his teeth in league 1 or 2 at the moment and certainly not playing up there on his own. One of the few high points was Moussa who really put himself about-I hope he stays injury free because I think he could have a good season. Watt did little when he came on (dropped or unfit?) but then most of his possession was getting the ball himself on the halfway line rather than service into him.
I agree with the general opinion that Luzon shouldn't be blamed because the squad he has just isn't good enough and, as a minimum, we need another big striker and a creative midfielder and, generally speaking, some players with a little bit more experience would be nice. It may have made those closing moments a bit more interesting because they certainly needed someone out there to kick them up the arse. A perfect time for Jackson but he was getting his breath back on the bench by then.
I can understand the apathy comments and I felt that for most of yesterday as I did for 80 minutes against Fulham. Then when Johnnie scored that header and celebrated with the North Stand, I found myself caring again and I genuinely think that's all it boils down to-as long as we are being entertained on the pitch and witnessing confident players giving 100% and creating chances, that passion and interest will be reflected in the stands. That's a long way off at the moment though and we really need to pull a Cardiffesque (the 5-4) performance from somewhere; hopefully it happens on Tuesday.
Keep the faith people and please don't walk away because it will get better...........
I went to the game and feel I'm somewhere in the middle of the comments we've had so far. In terms of an all round performance it was definitely lacking. By this I mean we offered nothing going forward. Clearly we were set up to prevent Reading from scoring rather than actually playing some football and hoping to nick a goal ourselves. For the most part we stuck to the game plan and the 0-0 that Luzon had set the team up for, was looking likely. Defensively we looked pretty good, but my fear was that we were often sitting too deep and were gifting Reading some goal scoring chances, but the team showed some resilience. I think some of the comments about the team not trying was a bit unfair. I think the way Luzon set the team up meant that we were playing negative football which may have given the illusion of players not trying.
Obviously the red card changed things, and from my point of view, the team just capitulated afterwards. Whether that was because mentally they threw in the towel or if it was because nobody communicated to them how they should respond to the sending off, I don't know, but either way it's a problem in my opinion. At 1-0 down, we should have thrown caution to the wind and just gone for it. The game plan was out of the window, so continuing to sit deep was just going to invite more shots from Reading. I would like to have seen someone take the initiative and try to play some attacking football.
We desperately need to get some of the injured guys back into the team, even if it's just for that psychological boost for the rest of the squad. We also need to have a plan B. Luzon's tactics seemed to be working OK, but even without the sending off, with the players we had on the pitch, I don't think we would have been capable of launching a come-back. It's as if everything had been put into not conceding with no consideration for what happened if we did concede.

My mum does.
Unless your mum is HRH or Bill Gates's Mrs, I'm not sure anyone can base their economic model on your mum's spending power.
