  • Why does RD like french 2nd division players?.

Because they are cheap compared to championship players.

    Simon Makienok
  • Return of Alan McCormack
  • Christ, how many left backs do we need? Aren't Wiggins, Fox, and the other 2 young promising left backs enough?

Wiggins is injured and Luzon hates his smarmy welsh face.

'More wages for sitting on a bench in the stands?'

    'Yes please'

Wiggins is a crock who we are trying to get rid of by the sounds of things and hasn't been the same player for years, people have said for some time that Fox will end up a centre back. And Holmes Dennis hasn't spent the last 2 years in La Liga and Seria A. This bloke will be a big upgrade on paper
  • These 2 are surely going to happen in the next 24 hours or so if they are going to happen at all.

The CB is the interesting one for me - and would surely have to be the 'big signing' people are talking about.

Only 6 ft 2 though. Is that big enough?

Fair enough. But Fox as a centre-half? Where has that come from?

    his lack of pace.
An area that Dazzler is a master.
  • Too true.

We are close to signing Wylan Cyprien ... of RC Lens! Fee thought to be about 2m euros.

Decidedly, the Championship club Charlton looks almost Ligue 1 in recent days. As they approached AS Nancy Lorraine in last weekend for the young central defender Clément Lenglet, like the 10 Sport revealed, leaders of the London club would be close to conclude the transfer of young defensive midfielder lensois, Wylan Cyprien. A priori, common ground was found between Charlton and Lens on the transfer amount. The amount has not filtered with certainty, but it could turn around € 2 million. Charlton must now finalize an agreement with Cyprien on the contract. A discussion to be held early in the week for this purpose. The deal is not yet finally completed, but it is on track

  • Another defensive midfielder???
  • Another defensive central midfielder. OK - seems a given that Diarra will be used as a back up centre back this year (and a pretty good one IMO). But even assuming Cousins will be given licence to push forward, that leaves Ba, Kashi, and Jacko for that role....

Regardless of peoples views here, this would mean bye bye Jacko IMO. Not saying it should, but thats what I could imagine.
  • Says centre back

  • Wylan Cyprien (born 28 January 1995 in Les Abymes, Guadeloupe) is a French footballer who currently plays as an offensive midfielder for French side Lens. He is a youth exponent from the club. He passed through the youth ranks in July 2012.

Says here offensive, I do hope so because like people have said we've got enough defensive mids.

Does look a good player though and plays a lot for a youngster.

I see Jackson as a more attacking midfielder- so this would mean we have two attacking central midfielders in Cousins and Jackson , and potentially three defensive/holding midfielders in Ba, Kashi and Cyprien.
  • Scrap that - transfermarkt and wiki says he is an attacking midfielder. Jacko is saved.
  • Does anyone know what the rules are on number of home grown players in the squad/11/18?
  • @(null): #Cyprien very close to #Charlton, are still a nugget that will go away! For cmbien of million? Wait... #RCLens!
  • wikiwhatsit says he is an offensive midfielder
  • Still cant work out where James Henry fits in with all of this. Seems completely out of kilter with all of these other rumours. So the midfield could end up as:

Gudmundsson, Kashi, Cousins, Cyprien, Henry, Ba, Jackson, Moussa - Harriott off to Wigan.

Actually - thats a player for every position. Job done. Diarra as centre back cover.
