  • Good on you all. This is all over Facebook and Twitter now, I hope the family get a good news story for Christmas
  • Reckon they can start packing tonight.
  • Donation made. Bumped it up so staff at work will soon find out that their Christmas gift is being a small contributor to the biggest fight of a little girl's life. Sadie: I wish you and all the other fundraisers the best of luck and my heart goes out to Frankie-Rose and her family.
  • £112'000 and counting, looks like we may surpass the target and give them enough to stay together throughout the treatment.
  • Well done SJ. You and the others helping should be very proud of this. Great achievement to date and would be great to get up tomorrow and find your target is surpassed.

    Wow! Keep going everyone :)
  • Brilliant and they didn't need to sell the house I take it, welldone Sadie for your part

    God bless the family
  • Fantastic news Sadie. Good luck with helping to push them over that target (and beyond).

Here's hoping, most of all, that the family enjoy their best Christmas ever with some real positive news about Frankie-Rose.

Please do keep the updates coming.

  • Thanks again everyone, we're at £125'000 now, fund raising walk this morning. As I said as soon as that hits 160k the family are paying for treatment, loads of people have asked about the proton treatment centre in Prague as it is nearer, Prague doesn't have a lot of children as it is very much new in Europe so it's not easy to get her on, it is also more expensive. Also the oncologists at the hospital recommend the usa for the utmost best chance of survival. Hope this helps.

  • Wow, that's fantastic in such a short time! Brilliant by all involved. Good luck on the walk Sadie.
  • A DEVASTATING MESSAGE FROM MICHELLE (frankie' mum)

I need to let everyone know that we found out yesterday evening that Frankie-rose's newest MRI scan shows she has a build up on the brain and requires surgery early next week. This means that she can no longer fly. Please be aware we can no longer get our baby to America but I will keep updating the post as to what is happening. Thank you for all your support, it's been amazing.
  • Latest news is they have found alternative places in Switzerland and Germany, as the donations are going so well they should be able to afford treatment in Europe they have been told frankie can not fly the pressure on her brain added with the pressure of flying will certainly kill her instantly, they can travel by land into Europe, but not until after surgery which will be on Monday hopefully, we have not given up yet but these obstacles are heart breaking :-( xx
  • Sorry to hear the latest news Sadie, how sad after how well the fundraising was going. Will be hoping all goes well on Monday and she can get treatment in Europe.
  • Frankie Rose helping in her own fund raiser keeping her spirits up xx
  • SJ is there a Just Giving site now where you get gift aid and they get more than you donate because they get the tax you have already paid back?
  • I don't think there is :-( x
  • £160'665 we've done it guys thank you to everyone that has donated, we're keeping up with the fund raising though because treatment in Europe costs a bit more and the extra will help cover the cost of living and care during treatment.
  • I saw this in to comments on one of the Go Fund Me pages

  • So looks like there is a Just Giving, which means they get more than you donate?
  • Yes sorry Mel just told me both are linked same fund
  • Great. This wil mean they will revive more through Gift Aid. Fantastic news SJ. Do you know how much more they need for European treatment? What's the difference between treatment in Germany, Swizterland and Prague, which is further away but where Aysha King has gone?
  • Well done Sadie. Your input in this appears to be quite large.

    Happy news.
  • Fiona I really don't know much about all that the plan has been foiled late in the campaign the intention was always to go to America on specialist advice, the Europe thing is new, they have only just discovered they exist in Germany and Switzerland, the one in Prague is quite well known, we have now found out that there is possibly one in Holland, naturally that would be more practical, before the decision is made however frankie Rose has another operation to get through, this tumour is growing faster than anyone anticipated and fear is we have days rather than weeks to get proton action.

I have a question. Why won't the NHS step in with this and act quickly? Surely this is a justifiable case. Would they just wait and risk letting her die? Unbelievable.

Edit: Looking at this I understand now. The proton treatment is only available in the US. And now it has been found out that the treatment is also available in Europe. I'm with it now. Apologies NHS. Duh!!!

Here is a link to a proton centre site in Liverpool. Edit. This doesn't, in fact, offer proton therapy even though the wiki site lists it as doing so.

  • This is a wikipedia quote.

In 2014, only low-energy proton therapy was available in the UK, at the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust in Merseyside. But NHS England has paid to have suitable cases treated abroad, mostly in the US. Such cases have risen from 18 in 2008 to 122 in 2013, 99 of whom were children. The cost to the National Health Service averaged around £100,000 per case
  • Hi Sadie Jane, I will share this on Facebook and Twitter, and make a donation later on. Agree re the earlier Wayne Rooney comment but maybe these footballers can also be used as a source of tweets etc and at least that gets something back for the price of our Sky sports' subscriptions. Rio Ferdinand is local. He might retweet. Hopefully the little girl makes a full recovery - I know someone who has recovered from a brain tumour as a teenager and become very successful in life - so there is hope. And Yann Kermorgant recovered from childhood leukaemia as well.
  • Just tweeted some footballers and will be interesting to see if they share. I know it's early in the morning but they might when it's non commercial.

Instead of going down the pub for a proper session last night, I stayed in and donated what I would have spent. Incredible what total amount has been donated in just 4 days - this seems to have touched so many peoples hearts. Fingers crossed for Frankie-Rose. Latest figure is £172k.
