So he's not good enough for a club in the arse end of nowhere so we have to take him back. Great. I think we can kiss goodbye to RD bringing in a half-decent centre forward in January. Reza and / or Tony Watt it is.
Reza's not good enough for a club where he scored 11 goals in 10 matches?
And obviously not good enough to score in the World Cup finals and play every game for his country?
He might not be a good fit for Charlton, but there's no doubt he's a decent player.
Iranian footballer Reza Ghoochannejhad is expected to return to English club Charlton Athletic as he will no longer be used by al-Kuwait.
In a statement on Sunday, the Kuwaiti club announced plans to replace the Iranian forward with Rogério de Assis
Bit weird this. According to Wikipedia, this Rogerio fella has played for Al-Kuwait since 2008 (77 apps, 43 goals). They loaned him to Al-Shabab for the season last July, where he's got 5 goals in 13 apps, so now appear to be recalling him from his loan in order to replace Reza. Seems a bit odd to me.
He's a Charlton player whether he likes it or not. That's who he is contracted to.
We have no idea of the terms and conditions of the loan. It could be that Al-Kuwait have the option to return him in January for all we know.
From the little I saw of him at Charlton I thought he looked useful but lightweight. The same could be said for what I saw of him at the World Cup as well, though he worked very hard there and impressed.
The dribbling our fans and club did over him scoring in the WC was pathetic.
Have you been on the Yann Kermorgant thread
There's a huge difference here.. your comment is irrelevant..
Kermorgant drew blood sweat and tears for Charlton, that's why he is loved.
Reza would avoid a sweat if he could for us, he certainly didn't care for us.
How do you know that for both players...
Could say the same with any industry you could go into a Bank and the Mortgage Advisor will act like your best friend as he tries to get your Business... at the end of the day if he realises that you cant make the criteria that applies for their mortgages they suddenly wont give two hoots for you
Next you'll all be saying we should bring back Izale McLeod. Probably has raw ability or something
Thats just stupid... Never saw McLeod appearing at the World Cup or shall we also compare Rommedahl to Holden (two players who didnt have brilliant periods at Charlton just one was a Danish Intl)
- Gets dream move to Kuwait - Scores 11 in 10 games - Deemed to have not worked out
Bit weird innit?
In a piss poor league like that, they're probably underwhelmed it took him 10 games. I'm 47 (with a bad back) and could probably score 11 in a couple of games in that league........
The dribbling our fans and club did over him scoring in the WC was pathetic.

From someone within the club (very high up), he wanted to leave us soon upon joining us.
In a very particular and in very specialised circumstances Reza was very good for Iran in Brazil, Oggy is right about that. The Championship is a particular and specialised circumstance, and on the evidence of his previous spell Reza isn't suited. It all felt a bit like Lang Lang in the Foo Fighters or Dave Grohl in the Berlin Philharmonic. The evidence in Rezas favour is the times he hit the woodwork, and the goal at Elland Road, and his performances for Iran, the evidence against is his appalling work rate, his willingness to go down all the time, and his concern for how others play rather than getting his own game in order first. However he is contracted to us, and Roland might want to send him here for more reconfiguration so as to get the optimum return on his investment, it is hard to believe Reza would pitch up at Charlton so as to perk our season up.
Wins free kicks, takes a lot of shots, is a threat. Hit the post so many times, he was only inches away from being a legend (which, coincidentally, is what the wife says about me).
If we can get the Reza that was at the world cup, we will get a decent player.
I have a feeling he was not at his best because we was in a relegation scrap was a new player and had a lot of pressure on him, now we are mid table and have Igor and JBG maybe the pressure will be off him and he can play to his best.
I also noticed a few people have mentioned his diving, I honestly dont see that being a issue, we saw I think it was at Rotherham when Moussa took a dive, the crowd got on his back for it and BP said afterwards he does not want to see his players doing that and had a word with him, so I think if he did it once BP would have a word and tell him never to do it again and you dont argue with BP
Watched the video posted here, and from what I can make out Reza is the least excited of all the Charlton entourage. Astrit looks more excited and he was on loan.
A little birdy told me yesterday that Reza will be off at the end of the season, not sure where to. Pretty confident it's true
March 19th..
A month and a half after signing a 2 and a half year contract for us. You've got to be mad to want this sort of person near our playing squad. He's in it for him and him only. It's a bold no from me.
Posted this on April 26 on another thread. And I haven't changed my mind one bit since.
"Rapidly turning into one of my most disliked ever Charlton players.
Runs blindly with the ball until he falls over, won't pass, a one trick pony constantly trying to turn inside. No fight, no commitment, no nothing.
No wonder Chris Solly went absolutely ape-shit with him this afternoon after another run that went nowhere when he could have passed to a colleague in a better position.
Let's return him to Uncle Roland as soon as possible".
