  • The club shop will be busy giving out refunds on "Love Reza, Love Iran" shirts over the next few days.

  • Decent player with potential to play better.

Asked to come in and do a job helping keep the club up in the second half of last season, which he did. And we did not have to spend money training him for eight and a half years to do that role.

Scored a cracking goal against Leeds.

His presence made what would of otherwise been some dull world cup games more interesting and scored Charlton's first world cup goal.

Is going to play in Kuwait (presumably this is financially attractive to the player) any more or less ambitious than a player joining a premier league team never to play unless the first choice goalkeeper is injured?

Thanks for your contribution Reza and good luck.

Hopefully we got a few billion for him then.

    6 billion Groats apparently

But they'll ruin the new pitch :-0

Sorry, misread that. Thought you said goats.
Don't be silly, our payment will be in camels surely ?
  • Thought he had potential to do well at this level. He needed someone next to him who could win the headers for him.

I'm a bit disappointed if he is leaving to go and play for a team in Kuwait. He should be aiming to play at a higher standard than that.
  • Oh goody. Another thread about Reza (potentially) leaving.
  • Disappointed with the whole Reza debacle. He was signed under a fan fair by many - so many saying he was the goalscorer that liege had that we needed! And actually I believe he is a really decent player but he just wasn't strong enough physically and needs to be played through the centre to be effective, preferably next to someone stronger.

The biggest disappointment is his attitude. I assume he pushed for this move? If so, after all he said when joining, this is a shame as he really sounded like he wanted to play in England and test himself.
  • I wonder if he was bought with a view to selling fairly quickly? We needed new blood desperately at the time so it worked for him to go somewhere which would give him exposure so he could move on. If we make a profit then it's a win for us too.

If he really wants to play elsewhere then I'd rather not have him on the squad. I'm with Big Bob on the 100% commitment or nothing at all stance.

    Let's hope we get Delort!

    "6 billion Groats apparently"

At least the goats will keep The Valley pitch in good order.
  • Think this has been on the cards for some weeks now. Although I thought he had potential, physically he was not ready for this league. CAFC will be stronger as hopefully we get a good fee on the back of his WC goal and wages are freed up for a new acquisition.

We move on - with Delort ?
  • Was a goner from the second he signed up with us practically, good riddance to him, play for the shirt or you're not welcome. It's crazy in football to know of someone leaving very quick after he signed up, and I did - poor attitude from him and I'm sure the club will shuffle him out the back door rather than celebrate his time here.
  • It's a tie up deal with the youth players swapping clubs like inter and the African tie up we had

Ebola is on his way to us

    HAHAHA!!!
  • I couldn't say his surname anyway !
  • No great loss if true. Biggest mark he made on the pitch was due to repeated diving.
  • Found this on twitterimage
  • Wot?

  • No big loss in my opinion.
  • 1 season according to that translation. Does that mean it is a loan then?
