On a day when she had a double at Plumpton, trainer Zoe Davison sadly passed away today.
RIP.
Very sad and the reason why James Best was so animated in punching the air and yelping with delight as he crossed the line on Brown Bullet.
I once went out with a girl who was stable lass for her Dad, Albert, who, as most people who know of him, was a bit of a "character" to say the least. The stories she told me about him are, however, for another day.
Condolences to Zoe's daughter, Gemelle, and the rest of her family.
I met Zoe a few times at her yard and at Plumpton. Lovely lady. She will be missed not only by her family but the wider racing community, particularly in the south. She really was incredibly popular.
Fakenham 12.55 Zee Man One of my horses running today and only had for about six weeks and purchase all done through Olly himself. His first report on the horse was we can win a couple handicap hurdles off his current mark but with his size and scope will make a better chaser. On to today and latest is that he has impressed Olly so much at home with his schooling over fences and that this is such an ordinary race we couldn't not run in it. He has added the fear is the track could be too tight as he is a big lad.

Well done mate. The way he leaped that 2nd to last fence was very impressive.
Pre-empting the handicapper. Great stuff. But Bob's got a point. Rummy and the Tiger were flat bred of course and there's Wild Risk in that pedigree of yours. If he can score on Lingfield heavy, even if over the minimum, I'm expecting nothing less than Chepstow on the agenda next Christmas All the best Killer.
serious thoughts that cheltenham will be off this year concerns over the irish being allowed to bring horses over and with whats going on it morally wrong to take medical teams away from hospitals etc.

could well be behind the closed gates .. if the Irish are restricted to just few horses and jockeys, so be it

This. My view, it will either be behind closed doors (most likely) or with minimal attendance.

Hope you don't mind me asking but what would be Bet365's policy with antepost bets on Irish runners if they were prevented from coming over @bobmunro ? Festival or (more pertinently for me) GN?

I don't know, Peanuts - sorry. Generally, and I know you know, for ante-post bets unless the race doesn't take place or a selection is balloted out, non-runners are treated as losers. If any horses cannot run because they are not allowed to travel then it might result in a concession but clearly a lot of the fancied runners (especially at Cheltenham) are Irish and no Rule 4 on the English runners would smart!!
They should be settled as losers but there'd be outcry from punters everywhere so they'll get their fivers and tenners back as a "goodwill gesture" from "bookmakers" Exchange will settle as losers
Wouldn't be in a rush to bet any Irish horse right now imo. Interesting that bet365 cut just about every UK horse few days back. Only bet I've had of note is Bravemansgame in Ballymore at 5s. Be 1/5 if no Irish so no complaints from me if they don't rock up. He's as good as Envoi Allen/Samcro anyway and they went off odds on so not too bothered either way! Chipping away at Saint Calvados in the Gold Cup on exchange too
I've done Al Boum Photo for the G C .. I suspect he'll be brought over well before the event as a 3 timer would be something special .. that is of course if any overseas horses are allowed in for the next few months
If Ffos Las passes yet another inspection I will hopefully have a runner in the 2.58 Lily The Pink. Anthony has said since beginning of the season on his current mark he can win a handicap hurdle then will go chasing once that’s happened.(hopefully today)

Oh alright Plumpton
Many congrats @killer kish
Onwards and upwards!!!
Sounds like you are going to have some fun with him.
