  • What happened to "We fear no foe" on their collar?
  • University of Greenwich, Andrews Air Conditioning, Andrews Heat for Hire and Mitsubishi Electric. Was is not possible to find 4 companies with longer names?

Don't worry, in a cost cutting measure Roland will be sacking all the fitness coaches and sports scientists and putting the players on a special diet of waffles, chocolate and beer. By the time pre-season is over all the players will be wearing XXXL shirts which should leave plenty of room for the three sponsors already announced plus a few others.

Word has apparently got through to Yann Kermorgant about the new fitness regime and he is said to be trying to engineer a move back to the Valley.

  • New kit to be revealed at 12 tomorrow .

  • Revealed at 12pm tomorrow. So be online at about 12.10pm. :-)
  • You have to be pretty shallow (and I know it's not uncommon) to worry about whether you think a kit sponsor is "cool". Like most I would prefer not to have sponsors all over the kit, but I'm old, and time and commercial considerations move on. If it's not a sponsor of dubious morality then the companies mentioned are as good as any. Our lack of TV coverage (which only us exiles care about, it would seem) must impact the value of sponsorship deals, so maybe we had no other option?

I hope the owner has more sense than to mess with the shirt design too much. Whether the negativity about him is right or wrong it would be a bit of a PR own goal to pop up with an all red kit or a half white shirt at this particular moment in time.

  • At least it's authentic.

The article says there will be away and third kits. That surely hints at a white or black away kit, as these are the only 2 colours that combined with red would clash (Rotherham, Bournemouth), which would need a third kit.
  • I will be pissed off if we don't play in white shorts.

Come on, support the club. Are you a real supporter? Genuine question. ;-)

Touche. Shit players I can suffer but in the immortal words of Ace Ventura " don't mess with the do"

  • I will be pissed off if we don't play in white shorts.

At first glance I thought you said "I will be pissed off if we play in shorts"
  • Couldn't give a tosh what sponsor(s) is on the shirt. It has no relevance to how we play or end up in May.

If it means a bit more income, for recruitment or to make the books look better, then I'm in.

More important things to worry about, than sponsors, or how a shirt looks...

when will it be available in the shop , just in time for the Christmas rush ?

edit: from official site 'Those who order in store will be able to collect their new kit on Wednesday, June 25th, prior to its official launch while online orders should arrive by June 27th.'

  • Why do the University of Greenwich want to advertise on a football club's shirt? I am constantly amazed by this crazy world!

Universities need more than just students, My Dad lectures there occasionally and they want people who have experience in finance and other sectors to help. We do also have lots of younger fans who might see Greenwich as a local option where they don't need to move out from their parents but can still get a respected Degree. In America, its common for NFL teams to be sponsored by colleges and unis to raise awareness for themselves.

Had mates texting me all afternoon with things like "Uni mug", "ooh how much are your season fees", "brain", "we're guna do you 2:1". I'm inconsolable here. Thanks Charlton.

Wow your mates must really hate education. Special ed spanners I assume.
    Head. Gone. Over. Straight. Your

  • If the two cowboys had managed to secure multiple kit sponsorship deals this time last year, including one that is socially acceptable, and which the press can quote as being among the most lucrative in the league, we'd have been doing cartwheels!!!! Roly Twoshits does it and people are on his back (if you'll pardon the pun). Nothing to moan about from me. I will however moan if we play in red shorts or have hoopy socks!

    Huh?
  • I love this thread. Classic bollocks from the usual idiots. More!
  • The kit should be pretty simple really red shirt and white shorts. But reading a few bits here and there it sounds like we may even mess around with that. We'll see tomorrow....

  • Hoopy socks is fine but red shorts can fack off
  • Fits in perfectly with youth development.

We can offer best in class educational programme to intergrate into the academy. We can also offer lads the comfort zone of going to Uni at 18 if they are released. That will appeal to the type of characters we want to attract and is a USP

How does that "not matter"? Its extremely clever. RD has a great talent for these added value propositions in ancillary matters. Unfortunately it seems he doesnt have/want the right support re players or managers.
