Unwilling to increase the current salery I can see that being a problem for those who are first choice and proven at championship level as we ain't biggest spenders anyway, all part of breaking even.
With Wood signing on 12 month extension same wages, then allows Dervite to leave and of course we can choose to open talks with Morrison or look elsewhere. With Lennon/Gomez as a 4th choice.
As a club to progress need to get players in that are better then you already got and have decent strength in depth, the development of our youth helps but I'm worried about what type and the quality of players we might bring in. Our keeper and defence is the main reason we retained our championship status.
It made sense to keep Dyer last season as he was being paid and was an important link to the players as well as having a good knowledge of the league. Obviously, that depended on his professionalism, which is pretty clear was top rate throughout. I think that Dyer will probably go where Chrissy next goes, and I’ll be surprised if it is too long before that happens.
I think a message of thanks to Alex from the club on the website is the minimum we should expect. We should all be grateful as fans for his contribution.
Why is nothing being announced , Richard Wood , none of the back room staff none of the youth players and there has been a few that have moved on in Ellis and the keeper , even the new pitch we are getting hasn't been announced properly !
Surely you're not having a pop at the current regime are you @Yann897 ?!

Don't really see why you gotta be like that , I don't know who's fault it is but something's not right I think the least they could of let the fans know about the youngsters who have already signed for others teams and the pitch as those are confirmed elsewhere.

Merely an observation that your love for the current is so obvious that i havent seen you criticise them at all since they came in. Almost to the point that i started to beleive you might actually be one of them...no, surely not.

Yeah but I'd soon get moaned at if I pointed out everytime one of the negative people said something positive but anyway I don't know if it's the comms team or someone higher up Or what, or is it chris Parkes that handles contracts ? Either way there are certainly things that should of been put on the os , Cafc fan at work didn't even know we was getting a new pitch and why would you of you don't read Charlton life.
The fact that Alex Dyer stayed to work with JR speaks volumes to me about how both AD and CP viewed the team. Would have been easy for AD to leave at the same time but he stayed to assist JR. Clearly AD would have had enough loyalty to CP not to do so without discussing it first.
Not enough management in football has this kind of decent attitude.

It's only the third week of may and the comms team are still on holiday.
Any true fan would see how wonderful they have been since Rd has come in with all their 'meet the board' videos and new 'charlton wall' and the like.
The future is bright with our comms team, i for one am extremely positive about them. How about you all stop slitting your wrists about it and get behind the club?

I wish AD well in whatever he does next.
Perhaps he didn't have a job to go to and fancied getting paid until the end of the season ?
Perhaps he didn't start throwing the Lego around and get sacked ?
Perhaps he was more capable of transition than Powell ?
How can you assume that it was Powell's doing that AD stayed on ?
I had half hoped that he would become our manager because he would have guarded the club as best as he could.
I really worry what will happen now. Roland must have realised that he wont be able to do with us what he did to standered whch was shift players from other clubs he owns for free to us because the championship is too difficult a league. It may meant that he wants to exploit our academy and turn us into a sort of feeder club (by either using money he gets from our academy players for standered's needs or giving graduates directly to them as he earlier suggested) which I dont believe was his original plan. This would result in us being relegated and being thrown into chaos as the fans throw a tantrum (on charlton life obviously). this could end up meaning we are robbed of some of our best players and then he sells us on before he draws too much media attention to himself.
I know its a pessimistic overview, but Im really worried that this or something very similer will happen and that its not a worst case scenario anymore. There is something i really dont trust about Roland and Katrien. Almost as if they are trying to charm us a bit before they do their dirty work.
Good luck to Alex Dyer - he was very important, especially in the period of transition after Chris Powell left. Very glad that Damian Matthew is staying - an excellent coach and, I suspect, a real contender for a job as manager somewhere in the future. With us? Could do much worse.
Does anyone really know who did what, firstly under Powell, and secondly under Riga. Is the assistant the confident to the manager, whereas the coach (Matthews) the person who does most of the legwork on the pitch? Or do they share the roles out?
Must admit, I find it all a bit strange at the moment. A new regime, their first end of season, filled with so much uncertainty amongst everyone involved with the club, yet it feels to me like they've just shut the doors, switched off the power and all headed off on their holidays. They really need to get us (the supporters) on their side, yet it has an air of "they don't matter", well, that's how it feels to me.
Really think the club should be on full steam ahead at this point. I'm not expecting them to start naming transfer targets, but just a bit of reassurance that the wheels are still turning......................

With you on this DMC, don't trust these at all. Yes he might have saved us from possible administration but at what cost ? After selling YK & Stephens & not adequately replacing them we're told that they admit they may have made a mistake. Now it looks as though Hamer, Morrison & Dervite will be allowed to walk away & surely Poyet will follow. Does anybody seriously believe that we will bring in better or equal quality for less money than what they are on ? What then "sorry we made another mistake" as we slip back to league 1? It just seems he wants to get rid of all the experienced players in some bizarre kind of experiment. Quite where JJ with his 2 year contract fits into all of this I don't know, Player/manager maybe ?

I'm not assuming its CP's doing here, rather I am questioning if it is AD's doing.
I'm suggesting that both have been honourable to the club (and its future) and that regardless of personal friendship and therefore loyalty to CP, AD remained to see things through.
